  1. JK's so lucky that there's no Jungkook in TXT. He looks so small next to them - can you imagine him getting the constant roasting that Jimin gets from JK? I looked it up and the one guy is the same height, but he still looks so small and cute
  2. huh? No JK for either Global category or streaming artist category? And Jimin made a non-kpop category but you'd think this would be pretty cut and dry
  3. YG seems like a malicious company. No proof, but right after GDragon left, he suddenly gets drug charges and soon after Lisa refuses two contract offers, she's part of some Dispatch scandal... and of course, where there's Kpop, they have to drag our guys into it
  4. I haven't seen any info for voting yet. Not sure if we should be more happy that they got nominated or more angry that they're relegated to Kpop categories rather than being recognized on the main categories. There's no reason that Seven should be in the Kpop categories since it's the biggest global hit of the year, there's no Kpop sound, and it's full English
  5. JK's going to be on this show in a few days! JK seems to have a great relationship with all his dongsaengs. JK probably should have known when everyone giggled after Laroi said it was chocolate Spotify essentially de-monetizing small artists A new Billboard chart. Only US, it looks like. So made for Taylor and Drake I guess but maybe it's possible to get Golden to #1?
  6. Yay! He looks SO good as a blonde. Definitely his color Looks like JK is trying to be the hyung that his hyungs were to him
  7. It's ok. To me, it sounds more like a B side song. The hook isn't very strong and I don't get the appeal of Central Cee. To me, he is the weakest of the rappers that JK has worked. But JK's voice blends really well with Kid Laroi. I'm not a fan of the video - mostly because I just hate the ghetto aesthetic and Kid Laroi and Central Cee reminds me of those suburban kids trying to imitate gangsta rappers
  8. Found a list of all the nominees https://www.soompi.com/article/1620737wpp/2023-mama-awards-announces-nominees-pre-voting-begins I can't remember if this is an award that's largely dependent on votes or panel. Hoping Army - and V stans especially - plays it smart. Throw support to V in the Best Vocal Performance Solo, to Jungkook for Best Male Artist (since he's most likely to win of the 3), to Jimin for Best Dance Performance male solo (to divide up the awards and he's a stronger dancer). I know V stans are feeling like victims because V's album "only" did the 2nd best out of the group ( I know Jimin's singles charted higher but Layover had more sales and streams than Face) I think @ralucutzagyis right that Seven will probably take "Song of the Year" but I guess BTS can win as a group for "Take Two" in Best Vocal Performance Group. I don't recognize the other nominees in that category so it seems like a strong possibility. And The Planet can take Best OST. Weird - Jisoo's in Worldwide Fan Choice but not Jungkook or Jimin - I guess that makes it easier for the fandom to unite Seven will probably get Best Collab ETA: I guess this isn't a full list. Album of the year isn't on here. Not sure what else. ETA 2:
  9. Trying to figure out who outside of BTS got nominated for Song of the Year. Hopefully Army votes for Take Two. TBH, I think The Planet is a pretty bad song - it was only good to get a taste of OT7 again
  10. I'm disappointed but not surprised that RM got shut out. I guess he's not a strong enough vocalist to be put into a lot of the other categories and Indigo isn't really rap or hip hop, but still. I wish he got a Best collab nom at least. I'm thinking Suga will take this because he's more popular
  11. I'm holding onto a thin hope that ARMY is going to be smart about this voting. We're not going to beat Lim Young Woong if we divide our votes 3 ways. It's tough enough even 1 v 1 I think this is one of those categories where there are multiple winners? Honestly, I don't think the Seven choreography is that impressive. Hageum and Set Me Free are stronger
  12. Golden is clearly catered to the Western audience but JK also really loves Western pop music. He's done so many covers of Western artists for funsies. I had reservations early on because I didn't like the 1st single and I'm sure there are others I won't like, but I do think this music is to his taste. It doesn't bother me that he's not using the same team. Part of chapter 2 is each member getting to explore his own tastes and goals so of course you'll work with different people with different objectives. Tae used a different team and his album is great in spite of the producer he chose putting out garbage music previously (which made me nervous for him as well). Whether we like the music they put out or not, I do trust that they're following their personal compasses. btw, this is why I push being kind to fans of other groups. All you're going to do is spread hate (and possibly monetize the blue check marks) by replying with hostility, but occasionally you lead someone to give the guys a chance when you're nice
  13. I'm super excited! I was nervous when Seven came out - I still don't really like the song (oddly enough, I often find myself singing the part I hate the most - the Mon, Tues, etc. refrain), but I really liked the 1st 3/4 of 3D. I know I'm in the minority, but I just think it's a better structured song and I like the refrain a lot better. I think I'm looking forward to "Hate You" the most. I'm thinking it'll be like one of his gorgeous romantic covers. This is one of my favorites - he put Justin Bieber to shame: P.S. - If I were a touch more delulu, judging by the music videos and the song titles, I would think there's some love triangle between Jin, JK, and Tae, lol. What's with all these romantic sad songs, the alien drawing, the blanket matching Jin's coat that Tae gifted Jin, JK seeming in some sort of depression immediately after Jin left for the enlistment... Don't worry, I don't actually believe all this and it would be logical that JK would be sad having the group forced apart and I'm sure they just picked songs that they liked
  14. Any word yet if Vicnic is anywhere online? All the clips I've seen look so adorable!
  15. Now that I see the submissions, I've lost hope for a nomination beyond JK for Pop Duo/Group Why the hell didn't they submit Jack in the Box for all the Alternative rock categories? "On the Street" will probably automatically get ruled out for not being a pop song. Why didn't they submit it in melodic rap? Suga will likely get ruled out in favor of all the Western artists submitting for the rap categories Jimin unfortunately will be in JK's shadow, if, by some miracle, the panel can get past Kpop Jin should have been submitted for rock. I understand that it's borderline, but it's plausible in either rock or pop and, of course, he's going to get pushed aside for Western artists. RM - same issue. Honestly, not sure what category he belongs in, but he has no shot in the pop category. It's probably the one category where being artsy won't get him any sway. And unfortunately, V just didn't make enough of an impact in the US, even though this isn't supposed to be an American award. I'm just going to hope that one of them gets a nomination for music video. It's a minor category so they might allow one of them to get that, but the win doesn't seem to have anything to do with quality of the video. Grammy submissions: https://www.onthebulletin.com/2024-grammys-watch/official-submissions-list Agust D D-Day – Rap Album “Haegeum” – Rap Performance, Music Video J-Hope “On the Street” — Pop Duo/Group Performance, Music Video Jimin Face – Pop Vocal Album “Like Crazy” – ROTY, SOTY, Pop Solo Performance, Music Video “Angel, Pt. 1” – Pop Duo/Group Performance Jin “The Astronaut” — Pop Solo Performance, Music Video Jung Kook “Seven” – ROTY, SOTY, Pop Duo/Group Performance, Music Video RM Indigo – Pop Vocal Album “Wild Flower” – Pop Duo/Group Performance, Music Video V Layover – Pop Vocal Album “Slow Dancing” – Pop Solo Performance, Music Video
  16. I wish I had someone as supportive as Jimin's dad
  17. It's still a great achievement, and maybe those other fandoms made giant last minute pushes, but as late as a couple hours before tracking week end, all the predictions were saying 3D was going to be no. 2 on the Hot 100, including Billboard's own. Oh well, JK can still say he got 2 solo #1's - realistically, Global should be more important than the Hot 100 anyway
