  2. I was not into FS back then but I recalled reading somewhere that he was advised not to use LGC for the Olympic season. Maybe that's why he skated Chopin in FaOI? (with the upgraded jump layout that has the 4Lo).
  3. Eh, I most likely am in the minority here but I'd rather Yuzu not doing it. For one, it is not amongst my fav programs of his (I think Prince's music is not for me because I don't like V/M's rhythm dance either), even though the spins are to die for. Edit: I'm so sorry but I don't like most of the StSq, save for the part after the knee-slide For two, he NEVER skated it clean. I am convinced that a program that is never skated clean is a cursed program My hope is for him to choose a musically challenging, less known piano piece. He is not going to get brownie points from the judges anyway, so why not go for a piece that says "I am the king" just because he can? Ten to Chi to absolutely does it for me, so I hope he will get something along the line for the SP (not similar to Ten to Chi to music-wise, but you know what I mean) PS: I hope he will put LMEY to rest too (and bring it back some years later when he is ready to turn it into a show number). It's fun but as he said, it's only for cheering people up during depressing time. A rock concert in a competition, if you will.

  10. Mana is keeping her FS, too but will get a new SP (and a new EX) Her 2021/22 programs will be SP: Winter (Vivaldi) - Choreo by Lori Nichol FP: Miracle - Choreo by Lori Nichol EX: Flower (Crash landing on you OST) - Choreo by Cathy Reed
  11. Satoko is recycling her Tosca (but will get a new SP by Jeffrey Buttle) Her programs will be SP: Lyra Angelica by William Alwyn - choreo by Jeffrey Buttle FP: Tosca - choreo by Lori Nichol It's basically this music.
  12. There are footages of jumps that show only the feet, not the entire body of the skaters. Plus, with technologies nowadays, it is not hard to edit a video to ensure confidentiality. He could, for instance, convert the real life footages into models, kind of like the test he did on himself. And for sure, he would follow proper research protocols. Skaters name and info are safe, unless they want to be revealed. Another thing, with Yuzu’s techniques on toe jumps, he can’t prerotate Even his edge jumps require minimal prerotation. And IMO he can’t pretend to UR jumps because they might lead to injuries. As for your question, I remember for his research, he used the sensors developed by a Chinese company that had branches in Japan (I can’t remember which one, although I do recall they were so proud of the fact that Yuzu chose their products). And for sure, there will be companies, not just Japanese ones, willing to collaborate with him Edit: I just remembered Yuzu can prerotate on his toe jumps, and that is with the Toeloop. Weirdly or not, Toeloop belongs to the same group with Sal, Axel and Loop in that it needs prerotation. But his prerotation on the Toe is minimal too so...
  13. Muchas gracias Will you also pin it on the first page?
  14. Satoko graduated!
  15. Ahh, make sense, altho it would be nice to have one since information is flying in. Is there a way to keep an online file so everyone can add in themselves?

  17. Do we have a master spreadsheet to put all the programs in?
  18. He did, yes. But since it's mentioned he also used other skaters' jumps for his research, I think it's possible he would draw out footages of jump issues from others too. Plus, he no longer has serious edge issues in comps. His Flip at its worst is (!), not (e) anymore. There are plenty of footages of wacko jumps in recent years. It shouldn't be that hard to find some.
  19. Boyang for the Lutz, yes, but Flip? He needs outstanding examples of excessive prerotation, chronic UR, wacko change of edges, wrong edges all the way through, using the Lutz corner to hide edge issues, and landing on the inside edge too. What else?
  20. He patted young Yuzu's head
  21. More details on Yuzu's thesis here PS: This one is not a tabloid right? Long thread, so I will post all of them here for those who do not want to go through Twitter: "What is the difference between success & failure of the jump?" Contents of the "30,000 words thesis" written by Yuzuru Hanyu Interviewed prof Shoji Nishimura,Waseda University. Sports Graphic Number, article written by Takaomi Matsubara (reposted on 4/15/21) - Title of the thesis: A Feasibility Study of Utilization in Figure Skating by A Wireless Inertia Sensor Motion Capture System. - The thesis consist of the following three parts: 1. Analysis of jumps using Motion capture technology: Research based on data collected by himself attaching sensor (difference between successful & unsuccessful 3 & 4 jumps such as flight time, prep movement before jumps) 2. Analysis of jumps recorded in 2D video using AI: Analyze video of his own as well as other skaters 3. Analysis of jumps after reconstructing above 2D video to 3D: Undertook to make a 3D based from 2D video. - According to prof Nishimura, each or the 3parts consisting the thesis is at the level which could be stand alone as a thesis. 30,000 words are more than twice the average thesis. Hanyu pursues one subject to another to gain deeper understanding, as seen by its content&structure. - Professor Nishimura's impression on Yuzuru Hanyu can become a top-class researcher. His research field is new that would like him to lead. He is very articulate in communicating (make it really understandable of his research,) that he would make a great leader as well. Professor Nishimura spares no praise, saying, "It can be said that it is beyond the scope of a graduation thesis. Yuzuru Hanyu's thesis was so complete, I had not much to do. - In thesis of Yuzuru Hanyu , there was written his sincere thoughts (to why he engaged in this study) It's hard to see the number of revolutions of a jump with the human eye. It's not that there is a mistake, but "I think that using the data will support the judges." -end- PS: I do wonder which skaters made it to his thesis This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  22. TBC with Shuzo-san pulling a muscle after trying Yuzu's warm-up exercises: In the aftermath, he was carried around on what looks like a trolley. This looks painful but so hilarious I'm sorry for laughing and get well soon, Shuzo-san!! PS: What kind of demon exercises did Yuzu do?????
