It's interesting how the two articles on the costumes designing process speak bounds about the skaters' personalities too.

I like that theory! I hope the dear raccoon is enjoying the company...

I agree with you totally, I didn't mean they need to reveal their identity publicly, maybe to an administrator? But I hope it is not something bad that happened on this planet to cause them to hide their posts suddenly. Yes, I will do my best to contribute!
-
Can the user speak up on their reasoning on hiding their posts, and propose an alternative? I want to be saved from this alternate dimension/timeline we are on now... At this point we will never get past 1970s... I want to be in the same era as Yuzu and his extraness...
-
I keep wincing every time we get pulled back a year... we will never get to Yuzu's birth year at this point! Does that mean Yuzu will cease to exist in our planet?!
-
Is Vegatta the one writing Yuzu a message, or did Yuzu write him a message? Sorry, I don't quite understand the tweet. But I love any interaction between Vegatta and Yuzu lol
-
Oh, thank you for clarification! I don't even know there is that feature.

Is there a reason why we have less and less pages? I remembered we were in the 1980 something pages a few days ago, and now we are back in the 70s.

Can anyone tell me the name of the spin at 2:54? Is it like a modified doughnut spin? I really like the look of it. P.S.: Am I the only one who really like his costume and hairstyle in this program? Such a contrast to his image in his FS program that year.

This tops everything.

I believe the award ceremony will take place in the upcoming January (11th I think) so it is a little too early to say whether he will attend or not.

That's the highlight for sure. Last one for the day: no one beats chibi Yuzu when it comes to cuteness. I just want to squish his cheeks!
-
How's this for cuteness? (esp at 2:47)

Oh... after reading your post, I went and watched another video from the uploader... it looks like it is about the protest of Korean influence in Japan (not 100% sure)? Wow they are really heated in their protest...

In the midst of Yuzu drought and Yuzu withdrawal symptoms, I present to you this one cute child who was warming up in a play room (?) back in 2012. I hope it makes your withdrawal much less painful.
-
I sure hope it is reuseable...
-
I couldn't resist... But I watched "Future of Tohoku" for the first time yesterday and it was really interesting to note the differences and similarities between the Yuzu then and the Yuzu now. Ease my withdrawal symptoms for a while...

It wasn't so bad when I was kept busy with school the past week or so, but now with things slowing down for me... I started to watch all of his past documentaries and TV appearances from the beginning... what has my life come to?

Is it too selfish for me to hope that Olympics is the repeat of NHK 2015, and Worlds is GPF 2015? Haha, but no matter, I just hope he does his best and has no regrets at the end of the day.
-
But do you think that the less pressure Yuzu has from not going into Olympics as reigning GPF winner will be offset by the pressure he is under now with everyone expecting he will make a comeback at PyeongChang? Like, now many people (many fans included) are hoping and expecting he will do very well in PC because of the angst and the "kuyashii" feeling he accumulates from being injured and missing out a chance of defending his GPF title for the fifth time, sort of like how he made a comeback after SP at WC 2017. Will that expectation create a potentially greater pressure onto him, perhaps even worse than the pressure of a reigning GPF champion, since Yuzu is probably exerting the same kind of pressure onto himself? Also, if he wins over Uno at Japan Nationals in December, can it simulates the same kind of pressure as if winning GPF? I am sorry if my words are jumbled- my brain is taking a break right now.

I am curious, do you think it may be due to his jumping techniques that he doesn't have the major injuries some of the other skaters have? I have read in this forum before that Yuzu has quite good axis and body alignment when jumping and landing (not sure if I remember right), so can that be the reason why he hasn't suffer a "major" injury so far like Nathan (for example)? On another note, it seems like majority of Yuzu's injuries are at his ankles and knees, what can be the contributors to that? Is it his technique that makes him more prone to injuries on his ankle and knee?

So after looking it up on the net, MAD comes from the Japanese phrase "Kichigai Tape", or "Tape of Madness". I believe these tapes were recognized as the first videos to contain re-edited, mash-up segments of video clips and stuff (I am not sure how accurate this is). The tapes were made by Japanese university students in the 1980s. Another term you may be familiar with is AMV, which is Anime Music Video. The two terms are used interchangeable these days.
-
I believe it originates from Japanese anime culture? It used to only refer to a fan-created video for an anime, piecing together different clips of the anime. Now, it is broadly refers to as any fan-created music videos, not necessarily just for anime. So in this case, the fans piece together many different clips of Yuzu and add in a song they think is appropriate for the message they want to send out.

After everything that had happened these couple of days, I thought I will share this MAD with you. I had heard it when I first became a fan and was catching up on Yuzu's history, now I find it quite fitting for such challenging times. The lyrics in this MAD were edited and re-sung by the team who created this MAD in order to fit Yuzu more appropriately, so I think as fans we can all relate to the message. I am quite limited in the Chinese language, so I can only roughly translated what I thought the words mean. Slightly off topic here, but just out of curiosity, at what age or what point of their skating career do skaters normally transition into new coaching team? Like for example, Yuzuru had switched to TCC two seasons after he made his senior debut (age 16), while Cha Jun-Hwan started training at TCC before he made his junior debut (age 14). Stephen Gogolev seems to have been with TCC for quite a while now? and he is only 12 currently. So is there a trend or similarities among the timeline of skaters (esp the ones who trained foreignly) when they made the decision to switch from their original coaching team to a foreign one? I am really curious in how influence of coaching can impact the career of a skater Also, do you think it make a significant impact on their development as competitive skaters, such as do they have better results when they made the switch earlier in their career than later in their career? On a personal note, do you think Yuzuru would benefitted from an earlier switch, like would he have "better" techniques as a skater now if he did that? I have seen in multiple places Yuzuru really benefitted from the switch to TCC and had really improved as a skater, which make his successful Olympic season possible. As a new fan, I am still learning the ropes in the figure skating world, and there are quite a lot I have yet to learn. I apologize in advance if these questions are too troublesome or not suitable for this thread. I will be really grateful if someone here who is more knowledgeable to explain the whole process a little more if it is of no convenience.
