 People discovering Rasputin, that must be something, not to grow up with it and be slapped with it as a fully grown adult :smiley-laughing021:

If not Rasputin, Here's another option, from the same troll band that @WinForPooh mentioned earlier, how about Genghis Khan? Nothing like an upbeat song about riding the steppes, laying waste to conquered countries and begetitng 7 sons in one night.

I piped up with Rasputin, @Henni147 ran with it from there with Moscow, but I feel like I have contributed to an awakening and many earworms and yes, I am proud. Cannot wait for all of it to ring out over TCC, Yuzu will not be able to resist.

  2. I did grow up listening to all of my parents' music collection over and over and over again, but Boney M's (and Abba's, for some reason) songs were just those 'everybody knows' things.

Hmmm, Daddy Cool. @shanshani you should listen to Daddy Cool, too. And so must Yuzu. You're just a couple of years older than my siblings and if they can survive the greatest hits...

That's it, a CD with a fake label going to TCC.

    no, Rasputin

I know about Sex Bomb, though I'm not sure I want to :13877886:

*insert pikachu face here* Wow it's wild how you sometimes realise how different childhood experiences are for everybody, I could sing Boney M's greatest hits (badly but I could) by the time I was nine and it never really occurred to me that that wasn't a universal experience.

Now I wonder if Yuzu is familiar with Rasputin. Maybe I should send a CD.

I had to Google this and what did I just watch

I feel like I've lost my innocence

Sex Bomb? :D I've been putting that one out into the universe a lot. There's a video where Yuzu watches Plushenko practice it and he looks sooo intensely focused I figured he was planning a tribute ex.

I’m 100% down for this cursed idea.

And imagine the strategic value! Yuzu keeps getting the short end of the stick because he doesn't get the last skate. Well, imagine ANYBODY skating after this. Commentators will try to wax poetic about whatever, and judges will try to do their thing, but the only thing in everybody's heads will be Ra-Ra-Rasputin, Russia's greatest love machine. It's impossible to get it out. The rest of the last group can skate to the most uplifting arias with the most heavenly voices and it won't matter. It'll all be Ra-Ra-Rasputin.

My god there is a horrible idea - no, NO - no Rod Stewart, no Elvis and for the love of god absolutely no Rasputin.  What are you smoking?

:D This is one of my sober ideas, and I am standing by it. This is the hill upon which I will die if I must.

  7. For some reason all this effect of music on skating and audience and perception has made me wish Yuzu would skate to Rasputin. :D There would be thousands and thousands of people who cannot get it out of their heads for days every time he skates, it'd be hilarious and evil and I want this to happen.

    I have a quick question :)

does anyone know if Skatecanada will make live streaming available for the US this year like they did last year?  Us poor Americans need to watch Yuzuru too!

    There's always PandaGuy if they don't. :D

(Sorry, can't figure out multi-quoting. I want to say the same thing to  LadyLou.) It was one of the experts on Planet Hanyu who said you can't recycle both programs from the immediate last season. I believed them when they said it because they sounded very knowledgeable. That's the only basis for my statement.

LadyLou: HAHAHA, yes, we absolutely ARE also addicted to the thrill.

(If you want to multi-quote, click on the + symbol to the left of 'Quote', then scroll on to the next comment you want to quote and click on the + again, and when you have covered all comments you want to quote, click on the floating 'Quote x post' box that will have appeared. If you simply want to tag a satellite, @ and then type the beginning of their username, and their name should pop up, click that and they'll get a mention notification, like so @Toni. There's no option to delete a comment once published, but you can hide it by clicking options and choosing hide. Before publishing a comment, you could always select all and delete everything in the new comment box and start over if you want to. This will get rid of quote boxes and spoilers as well. You can also get rid of quote boxes by hitting backspace. For eg for this post, if I go to the open bracket right at the beginning of the comment and hit backspace a couple of times, the entire part where your comment is quoted will be deleted. )

I'm almost sure Azusa is keeping both programs from last season. I don't think there is any regulation about recycling.

BTW I can't understand this "he is (re)introducing jumps so he will recycle" argument. After Boston he wasn't in the greatest state both mentally and physically and this absolute madman was able to bring 4lo, 4s3t, 2 quads 2 axel combos in second part of program, super hard super fast LGC, H&L that demanded from him to all the time keep in check his posture and lines. And Notte Stellata that is another very demanding, very hard program, tho not competitive. And while 16/17 season wasn't easy at all, it wouldn't be that much unexpected from him to do something crazy again. Plus he seems to be in much, much better condition than back then.

I guess, but the situations are kind of different. There's the fact that he had two near perfect performances that season already, short and free. He was coming off already recycling Chopin. And I think (my own speculation) that he already knew he wanted to skate to something that represented him, his country and his culture for the Olys. If H&L had been received better by judges, he might have considered that as an option for the Olympic season, I think. Either way I'd say he wanted to get some mileage on a second option for his Olympic free skate. Plus considering Seimei was probably his first choice for Olys already, it would've become a consecutive 3-peat if he'd repeated it.

I think also there's a bit more mental baggage to unpack with the 4Lz and that takes spoons too. And we know the last time he tried the 4Lz he did it with a recycled programme.

I'm still hoping for a new SP but I don't actually expect it, it'd be the best surprise if he gave us one but he'll choose what works best for him, as he should.

How does he know about these things?? He tells us he only focusses on skating....so basically whilst his mum is doing his laundry, he's watching taobao models on youtube, not working out the trajectory of 4axels?!!  he certainly has some diverse interests/knowledge, this gorgeous interesting funny bee-loving athlete/chocolate-from-yuzudispenser-eater/wannabe-taobao-model!!

That's. Research. Be as super efficient and energy-conserving as a model as at training. Also choose to rep a chocolate maker so you can actually get energy boost while doing photoshoots. Get shoot done in a few hours, go back to rink, train 4Lz, 4F and 4A.

That's my fanyu story and I'm sticking to it.

I have some kinder chocolate in my fridge and I don’t won’t to eat it but he made me hungry for it ! But chocolate  at 10 pm isn’t a good idea when u have to get up at 4 am !

I have no chocolate exactly because it is not a good idea and all kinds of things start looking like good ideas when you're up late. I want that chocolate dispenser. I need it. PRECIOUSSS!!

Nobody who's seen his spins is surprised. And kids don't do the 4lo for points.

No matter what narrative anybody tries to push or how ISU mutilates the sport, Yuzu's influence and impact on this sport will endure and that is just such a triumph for how absolutely incredible Yuzu is.

We stan a real, actual legend who is also a real, actual dork of a troll, it's such a rollercoaster.

I love the behind the scenes photos. He is such a beautiful human being physically and character wise.

I do wonder, does Yuzu really have a make up team?

    :umm:

I have a feeling he just put on lip balm with a pretty intense pink color for that citizen shoot.

No traces of foundation, blush on, eye shadow or eyebrow pencil in sight.

I think his mum chooses his lip balm and possibly darkens his eyebrows and he uses too much hair spray and that's it, styling done.
