  1. Off topic, about Yuzu's mom: I think without an agency his mother acts as his semi-manager. She probably helps him arrange his schedule, give him suggestions, advice and other stuff managers (and mothers) do. Of course Yuzu inspires me but his mother (and tbh his whole family and the people of hometown who protects him) are such goals.
  2. Yea, I'm sad the jmedia, isu and some fans are more excited by the race to acquire quads or who has more types in their arsenal than the beauty of the jumps' execution. Like, Yuzu is already putting 5 quads in his program and even without the quad lutz as long as he does his clean and beautiful 4s, 4t and 3A I hope he gets his due and the judges realize that.
  3. That super famous singer that will collaborate with Yuzu for 24hrtv is Hiromi Go? Meh, weren't so thrilled with his singing (or lack of) during their last collaboration.
  4. Ahhh!!!! I miss him so much!!! His hair! Wonder if he plans to cut it before he has to get on tv for the open practice or the class or 24hrtv.
  5. I'm new to fs, but I got into it because of him. The politics, scoring and judging throws me off. So if he r****s and ISU remains old-school stoopid I'm done . But I'll continue to follow Yuzu as long as he decides to stay in the public eye. Edit: I think after Yuzu r****s his aim would be to expand his horizon beyond figure skating so I don't believe he would do pairs or dance.
  6. Whether he r****s after this season or not, I wonder if he is at least considering a break for a season or two though. He deserves it, of course, though I see Yuzu as the type to just plow through at full speed with no brakes before he decides to put a full stop. Edit: I think even if it's not r****ment, the fs world will still miss him if he does take a season or two off. Though some changes may happen at that time as well.
  7. Genji! How dare you make me aware of something so perfect that will never come true! On samurai though, I have a modern-day-skewed-idealized image of Okita Souji (blame media and manga). I think that fits Yuzu. :3
  8. I think like the others - looks like CJH to me. Edit: do Yuzu usually roll up his long sleeves like that to elbow length? I think he keeps it short sleeves or just go with the long for practice outfit.
  9. Or you know he could just skate to nigahiga's version of puns so we can all sing along (4:40) Someone, give me a chill pill so I stay sane in time for the announcement. T_T
  10. What if he does something from YOI? What's the verdict on that?
  11. Coincidentally, I just bought my copy this past weekend as I'm still sifting through/reading the 2014-2015 season fanfest on GS and this DVD was brought up (throwback! it sold very well). Your information would have been very useful in helping me make a decision then, but now that the deed is done at least I know what I got coming in the mail.
  12. I was thinking a lady could cross-dress as a guy, but then I realized she'd be found out as soon as she shouted, "Hey Yuzu!" Too bad - shoujo scenario instantly went to smoke.
  13. Got it. Whether Shoma said it himself or not though *shakes fist at the media anyway*
  14. At first I was like, wait I thought Nathan already been there done that, but then I had to reread "Japanese man" and oh boy Yuzu's competitive fever is going to run high on this one.
  15. I think Shoma is another adorable cutie pie and fierce competitor who deserves respect for his skating - but also let me add this that my initial reaction to this news is disappointment. I would like for him to focus on the quality of his jumps before upping the ante, though he probably is trying and not to say he can't do it simultaneously but ISU and their easy scoring of him is indirectly ruining him and the health of the new generation of skaters. Yuzu is able to reach his current peak years with 8 senior years under his belt but will any of these boys after him?
  16. Random, but appearance-wise I do think Yuzu has changed from his young and post sochi years to the current him, though its been quit subtle and slow. When I look at photos and watch videos of pre-2015 Yuzu, he is boyishly cute and I just want to bear hug him and pinch his cheeks. Post-2015 though he takes my breath away with how pretty and beautiful he is. I think its the obvious maturity in not only his features but his aura and charisma. Though his smiles will always remain pure and infectious to me.
  17. Aw, this is so cute. I wonder if the phone call was recorded. Also, does this mean his skating classroom will also be recorded and shown during the show or perhaps a news clip? I hope so. Edit: In a way I'm glad that Hanyu is going to talk about his difficulties about asthma himself and on national tv as he is a great inspiration to many for a lot of things. I miss Yuzu.
  18. I like this theory. It makes me a lot less anxious. (And then gets anxious again at all the other theories.) I selfishly would hope that Hanyu's LP announcement comes on a Friday evening in my timezone so that I don't get mindblown and a brainfreeze at work and so that I can safely punch some pillows if I have to at home. Or perhaps cover my screams with the pillows instead. Idk, I want the announcement already but I don't think I'm ready for it.
  19. Since we're talking about costumes, what small changes do you think will be made for the chopin costume? Maybe different color sash again? Lighter gradient blue? Tbh I don't like the gold splits on the sides of his shirt and would hope those are removed.
  20. I keep telling myself that I don't care if Hanyu repeats because I love Seimei and I think a warrior-type program will suit his intensity, but I keep on forgetting about RJ, POTO and NDP. orz This is not good for my health.
  21. I thought Mura was doing POTO 2.0 this season? It'd be a disaster if Hanyu does it too I mean, they both did it for the same 14-15 season also! Thus suddenly remembering that, I don't think Hanyu will be bringing back POTO. Or I hope not.
  22. Random thought: We know fans' reactions and the reactions of casual FS fans to the news of Hanyu's Chopin 3.0. Impossible, but I would've loved to know how his competitors ie the others skaters esp the medal contenders reacted also. Because he's bringing back a world record program that fans and I'm sure other skaters know as well that Hanyu has perfected multiple times in competition. We know bringing back this SP gives him an edge and I'm sure they do too. I would think in addition to that the announcement of his FS and layout have a lot of people on the edge of their seats. Psychologically, withholding those details until this time might have been a good thing. And of course most of them are already planning upgrades to their programs later in the season, but imagine the crazy and scary when it happens. Will other skaters play it safe because it's the Olympic season, or perhaps since they are the chasers they'll go all out because it's worth trying in order to gain the upper hand? Stay tuned. :3
  23. Here is a link to the article that talked about his music choice: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2017/06/23/238251138/creating-the-program-zhou-makes-music-selection I understand the reasoning behind it because most of us can also agree that Romeo suited a young Hanyu > age-wise, passion and the unpredictability. But y'know I'm a cynic and petty and I don't believe, even if his ubers say otherwise, that Hanyu's version didn't cross their minds for at least a moment when they made the music cuts and choreo.
  24. Then I should probably rewatch it as I saw Leo's version while I was in college (yep I was an adult by then) and it was the first time I got on the Leo train - plus I even cried at the end which I didn't do for the other version I've seen. At least my childhood will remain intact.
