Looking at cool Chopin and Seimei Zuzu in the new top banner - I'm so ready to see his "new" costumes too and the colors, if there's any change that is. Are the mods planning to make any other changes if we get black and red Seimei Zuzu?

I was wondering why my page was loading so slow. And omg omg omg I love the new banner. The color scheme is so pretty and of course Zuzu is so cool! I took a day off work just for ACI even though I'm not going so bring it on!

Is Yuzu the only athlete ANA is currently sponsoring? Or perhaps the only one in the fs discipline that is gearing up for the Olympics?

Ditto. And not only that, it's downright heartbreaking because of the fact that many of these skaters love figure skating so much. As just fans, if even we will cry buckets, imagine if you were actually the skater who put the hard work in.

I think it works the other way too. It's demoralizing if a skater does a performance of his/her life and puts in all of his/her emotions but does not get a PCS score higher than perhaps a previous score that he/she wasn't all that into. And it probably is confusing as hell too. Imagine if Shoma is able to increase his interpretation and connection to the music at a later competition, but he has hit the ceiling as to how much the judges are willing to give because of how high scores are now, its a shame.

I like David Wilson too, remembering that he sat with Yuzu once. He or another coach could probably chip in if Tracy can't. They have this, idk, calming presence even for a viewer like me lol. Though Yuzu's interactions with Brian is always nice.

I am American and I think this is true and I also hate it. And, we hold grudges. Anything relevant or not gets thrown into the mix.

This irks me, haha. I'm so cynical I see everything as propaganda these days (because I believe in sheeps, since I'm usually one: hype up some skaters enough, degrade another enough, spout enough nonsense by turning a blind eye that some people start to believe it), not that this is...er, exactly what it is (I mean, its just biased predictions, right?). Though it is Olympic season which makes it worse. And you guys scared the heck out of me as I'm reading old threads about the media play against Plushenko. It may or may not affect scores, but I just hate it when the casual viewers start watching with already an opinion formed by someone else's propaganda. Well, there goes my pessimist rant of the day. I need next week to happen already so my mind would be preoccupied and I can stop thinking unproductive thoughts.

It's alright. Yuzu is going to retire at his peak before they can sabotage him. edit: conspiracy nonsense, yea...maybe Maybe. Weird, I was all up for Yuzu going for another 1-2 years but now I'm good with him ending his reign on a high note whenever and a big FU to ISU for losing their skater with the highest international appeal. Perhaps ISU is actually just trying to make Yuzu and Patrick and Javi fans not miss them so much on the amateur circuit after this quad and olys.

Considering how the GPF medals were just flimsy paper I think they have that covered if they wanted. And then I forgot which event, but the medals were the sizes of coins though so. Resources aplenty everywhere it seems.

Some people have been saying, 'Wait I thought the SP was the athletic portion and FS the artistic' (okay, I may have gotten that wrong or swapped around, but) instead of dividing it into 'artistic' and 'athletic' if ISU wants to pass something similar they should just go back to redefining the SP and FS and changing required elements for each. Perhaps more artistic emphasis in one or the other. I still think if judging was as strict across the board and with minor rule changes this shouldn't need to happen anyway.

Ah, I was just throwing the "evil" word in there sarcastically for my sad amusement because of fanyus' sad reputation. I'm sure a great many of us are cool people. ;3 And of course the hype vids should be of the king zuzu only - its up to the preferences of the vid creator, in this case that would be fanyus yep. That other media stuff, well. I'll pray.

Boyang is the top picture so. Ahem, evil fanyus should make those videos. Fans creating hype for their skaters though, wow. Well, I say if the feds are incompetent, throwing shade and hype, or fighting amongst themselves, why not?

I'm glad Yuzu was able to thrive and take part under this COP era because I'm okay with not following this sport after he retires and there are rule changes << it is exactly what ISU should stop from happening, losing all the fans they gain from various skaters, but well, they seem to always miss the point. I don't think the current points system, BV and GOEs wise, is as broken as it seems. It only looks that way because the judging and PCS is the problem and yet they're not fixing that and going for something else so yea, the missed point. Skaters like Yuzu work hard on the whole package and incorporating jumps into choreography which brought some people like me to admire the sport and ISU is doing their hardest to unravel it. I'm baffled because I don't see how overhauling the entire system in this day and age will make people more interested. Imagine in a few years, people will watch these programs and say, yea that used to be figure skating and not any more. Here, this is the new figure skating. Do these jumps impress you? Here, watch this too. Does this dancing impress you? Well, guess what, I can't believe figure skaters used to do all of that together! What were they even thinking? I wonder why slow-mo and stricter judging seems to be eluding the ISU so much? Even in soccer they're going towards using goal-line technology to detect when a ball crosses that goal line to be more accurate so there wouldn't be such an uproar whether it's a goal or not, you know to support the referee. So where're the extra cameras and angles in figure-skating, especially that it doesn't actually need new technology to work? That stuff could really support the scores and judging, obviously. I mean, if the PR reason for cutting down the 30 seconds/a jumping pass in men's skating is to supposedly help the sport, can we please please gift that extra 30 seconds to the judges?

Okay so that 3A3A3A3A I have a stupid question for anyone who understands the rules, keep in mind it's stupid and I don't really get the rules, can a skater jump extra jumps just as part of the choreo perhaps as long as the others planned passes are out of the way? I mean, even if they wouldn't for many reasons, just hypothetically. So like, otherwise his delayed axel will only be in an ex then? Also, I think Yuzu did a 3-2-2 in RJ1. Is there any reason he doesn't tack an extra 2 at the end of his combos for extra points? Is it worth it? Is it even possible? I think once quad novelty is over ISU might change rules to keep interest and hype by finally making bigger and harder combos a thing.

Is that Patrick in the middle? So many skaters going to TCC and Yuzu is just chilling. He totally has a great team and facilities, everything he likes, just in one place. And well I guess also because he's just working on improving old programs.

Honestly, before the purple pants I just envied his slenderness and hips. Then Yuzu and team decided to let the world know what the black training gear was hiding. Yuzu's body is as versatile as he is. To haters he's too skinny and feminine. To fs fans and figure skaters he has the perfect build to be great. To fans like me he needs to model more clothes (he already looks great in almost everything he wears from jerseys and sweats to t-shirts and the most blandest of casual wear). In conclusion, yes, he's a unicorn. Dick button just gave me an excuse to drop everything and fangirl tbh.

Okay, but that ending pose was badass ninja tho. The seimei costume just made everything better. I thought he seemed kind of panicky as he slid to that final pose, like "oh shit, how do I stop mid-ninjutsu" or as if some great villain blasted him and he got struck head-on but made some super cool move to stop it. Sorry, I digressed... That landing looked painful. But he looks so good.

Sorry OT do you know when and where he said that about Hope and Legacy?
