https://gyazo.com/8355b5c5f60803095b3f25f8e8b23e6b I love this picture! I took a screenshot from a MAD by axelyuzu! Does anyone know if there is a video of it though? I can't ever remember seeing this footage during 4CC. I love the angle; it looks so good - you can really see his focus here

gahhhhhhh too many magazine covers!! i can't keep track TT TT they're all so beautiful though i really want to get some ><

whoaaa this convo has been really informative. i've never stopped to consider the use of contact lenses while skating. for me, even on a windy day, the wind in my eyes will make my contacts out of focus and it bugs my eyes so much. but i wonder what the case would be for skaters with pretty bad eyesight :/ even with a feel for the rink

daaaang those auctions though. also i would love to see a photo compilation of every magazine that yuzuru was featured on the cover for! if anyone sees it floating around the internet, please do send it my way!

nono i definitely agree haha. as they always show in shows, books, life etc. unrestrained power is easier to practice than controlled power and energy
-
i'd really like to see yuzuru do another classical piece, preferably not as warhorsey as carmen, swan lake, etc or even if those, just not the super overused cuts of music haha. i wonder whether olympic season will bring back his warhorse tendencies in full force

i absolutely LOVE the billowy sleeves of chopin 1&2 (but i love the sleeves of chopin 1 more) it was absolutely breathtaking in any movement of the choreo that emphasized his arm movement like his arms on the spread eagle. i'd love to see something like that again

yes! i always found that in a slower program, any mistake made on an element lasts longer in your mind, whereas with a fast, "busy" music, much more happens in the program (musically) that the mistake doesn't leave as much impression in your mind. speaking from a musical background as well, i always found that if i hit a wrong note in a slower piece, it's not as easily "swept away" by the succeeding notes as it is in, say, a rondo or something
-
^ of course, music and tempo is completely subjective and differs from person to person, but that's just my two cents from an overall audience perspective
-
i definitely agree that slow music is harder. with intense, fast-paced music like seimei, it's easier to build on the energy in the music and even musically, there's a lot happening (which is difficult in it's own way concerning energy). whereas with slower music, you have to really engage the music because "empty spaces" where not much is happening (in the music) are much more obvious. with slow music, everything sticks out much more and every move is much more deliberately and not easily masked (if a mistake is made)
