I was about to ask which opening pose preparation you prefer but then I remembered GPF direction was TERRIBLE! I woahed at the NHK, though. So commanding even before the music started.

I asked you a question I can't answer myself but I'm safe because I've just become Pooh, Lord of the Boards! so I can look down upon you lesser, icy Poohs and laugh!

Quick! Don't cry just think: Which is your favourite SEIMEI ending face? Super happy NHK with arm punch and bonus squiggy "I'm #1!" finger to the camera OR Sneery side-eyes GPF face of "Beat that, humans!" Choose wisely, my friend. The wrong answer will see you tossed on the ice with all the other Poohs. (Oh yay, I've moved up another rank. Being stuck in bed during all this news has been very productive. :P)

(I feel personally responsible for clogging this thread with nonsense. ) I laughed when he said that - he answered almost before they finished the question! Just 100% honesty, no bragging. I'm so very happy this person was born. The world is so lucky to have him in it. Did you notice he said his ideal was beginning to take shape? r****ment? What r****ment? #Beijing2022

(I googled ACI 2017 and it came up with American Cleaning Institute...) How does one go about watching comps live? Here we only get Worlds and it's split up and a lot cut out and shown over a month for about an hour on weekends. Is there a streaming service or does Japanese TV show them all live or something? I'm all worked up from all that bolero-ing.

SO EXCITING! Man, those bolero intros were genius, weren't they? Got me so hyped up.

I'm so happy to find other people who feel the same! I always appreciate when women wear pants - it looks so much better, the dresses seem either hypersexual or infantile a lot of the time. It's probably no coincidence that my favourite Yuna routine is in pants. Goddamn that heteronormative nonsense. I can't wait for the day when they allow same-sex pairs. I don't necessarily mean gay romance but something beyond romance altogether. People complain about the men in pairs being gay and unable to fake chemistry anyway (bullhonkey) and that attitude just goes to show that those disciplines are stuck in relationship mode. I really like the exhibitions JButt/Pchan and Daisuke/Stephane did together in ice shows and I think they could form the basis of a wonderful new category of skating. I hadn't really seen much or paid much attention and my impression ofher was "sassy sexy teenager" - probably her ex - which didn't interest me much - but I just watched her worlds FS and LOVED IT! She seems a bit unrefined but I don't care! Let me venture even further off topic, and excuse me for saying so, but where did the powerful thighs on female skaters all disappear to? Is it an asthetic choice or are a lot of women unable to build that kind of muscle? Midori Ito - another favourite and criticised for not being feminine and graceful enough - had that power and those thighs. BACK ON TOPIC YUZUYUZUYUZU

Right? I feel like I can connect emotionally as a human being with men's programs because they're not so bloody sexualised or obsessed with delicacy and supressing their power. Those female skaters are so strong but they do everything to cover it up. It's the same with ballet and it's always praised as a wonderful thing to be strong yet appear delicate. They would be so much more dynamic if they would display their strength. That's why I appreciate Ashley Wagner, though she's too flashy and all-American for me to really enjoy her skating, because she's not afraid to be bold. On the other hand, I do really like Satoko who genuinely does fit that sweet image because of how natural she is. For pairs and ice dance, I love those who can move beyond he tired old romantic nonsense and those with a great sense of humour. Find me a better pair than Torvill and Dean!

I really, really liked the Pagliacci she did for Dai and I saw so much Yuzu in it that it made me crave a Yuzu Pagliacci. I'm a terrible traitor to my gender but I really can't get into women's figure skating. Somehow it feels like a completely different sport. ... and it's too girly for me. (Interestingly enough, though, when I was younger I didn't like men's because it was too macho!) I think I just love the masculine/feminine balance that exists in men's skating these days which seems completely absent in women's. Also, space race with quads is too exciting.

At least the costume was beautiful! #totallywouldwear And, yes, I feel guilty for the salt, too. All these kids are amazing to achieve what they have at such a young age. They just happen to have the great misfortune of being alive at the same time as Hanyu.

I still haven't watched a competition live (they don't broadcast them here) but I will probably be watching the Olympics from heaven.

I didn't mean to say she hadn't, just that the ones that stood out to me above all else and made me make sure to remember her name (and that set records and changed everythig and are ridiculously amazing) were the ones she did for Yuzu. I quite like other things she's done but they aren't the same level of perfection. I only saw a tiny clip of Nathan that was labelled something like "possble SP?" and couldn't really gather much from it. I really liked his SP choreography last year just not the way he skated it. >_> I'm also not hoping for other skaters to have crappy choreography. I have other favourites besides Yuzu and I love when skaters can change my mind like Boyang did between 2016 and 2017 worlds. It wouldn't be fun watching competitions if Yuzu just walked all over everyone (though, you know...)

Nope! Closest rival she's worked for that I know of was Daisuke - she did his Pagliacci program. I only really took notice of her because of what she's done for Yuzu but I hadn't taken her for someone who would excell at SP, though there's zero basis for that assumption and she's probably wonderful and terrific and I shall be conducting more research right away. But here is what she did for (evidently super anime nerd) Kevin Reynolds for his 2015-16 SP. This is one of my favourite tunes ever but I don't like the program at all. Obviously Kevin is a very different skater with about 10 years on Nathan but it's an example of a choreographer needing the right skater as much as a skater needs the right chreographer. So wait until you see Nathan's SP before you freak out. ETA Boy, she's worked with Kevin a lot. And he's done a lot of Japanese music.
