  1. Nope! Closest rival she's worked for that I know of was Daisuke - she did his Pagliacci program. I only really took notice of her because of what she's done for Yuzu but I hadn't taken her for someone who would excell at SP, though there's zero basis for that assumption and she's probably wonderful and terrific and I shall be conducting more research right away. But here is what she did for (evidently super anime nerd) Kevin Reynolds for his 2015-16 SP. This is one of my favourite tunes ever but I don't like the program at all. Obviously Kevin is a very different skater with about 10 years on Nathan but it's an example of a choreographer needing the right skater as much as a skater needs the right chreographer. So wait until you see Nathan's SP before you freak out. ETA Boy, she's worked with Kevin a lot. And he's done a lot of Japanese music.
  2. Bringing down the competition from the inside? Don't forget that DW did P-chan and Javi's Sochi choreo, too.
  3. And it's only been a few months since then! How incredible will he become by Feb 2018? I love this collective high. I'm sitting here laughing with glee - the most gleefully gleeful glee - all to myself. I can't drink so I'm letting myself have this. #collectivehi-de-ho
  4. I'm so hooked on Boyang's 4lz. It makes me laugh in astonishment everytime I see it. I just love that alien peanut boy.
  5. So... when do you think they'll erect a sub-shrine to Yuzu?
  6. Thanks for sharing this. I don't skate but have noticed and greatly admired Yuzu's arm position for its beauty and have been wondering about the benefits of it and why other skaters pull in so tight but have inferior jumps.
  7. I have this feeling too, sooo strongly. I'm not superstitious or relgious but all signs point to it. Huge, big, red, flashing arrows! Please absorb and report back all the magic for those of us left behind.
  8. Maybe I'm a bit delirious from all this disrupted sleep (damn you, time zones!) but I really have never been so excited about anything before. Not even Christmas before I found the receipts for the toys that Father Christmas supposedly brought in my parents' room. I desperately need to find some figure skating fan friends so I can talk the ear off someone who knows what I'm saying. Right now I'm just being as annoying as possible until being told to shut up and I don't know what to do with all these feelings!
  9. Even if there's no gold, who can say anyone is better than him? He's beyond needing medals to prove it. But there will be gold, right? He'll make sure it happens. (All my worries went away when Brian said in that Fuji TV clip that he had no anxiety or worry about the Olympics. Brian knows the result already.)
  10. All of this. I'm so excited, I feel like I'm in the middle of the greatest skating story of all time that's going to climax at the Olympics. The story of last season and how it lead to that perfect skate at worlds was worthy of a movie, this season will be epic. It's quite shocking for me to hear that people find Chopin safe and cliche. For me, I've never seen anything like this new version of it skated before, not even the first two incarnations. So much freedom and abandon and raw emotion. I almost feel winded watching it. ETA. I was a casual, once every 4 years skating-watcher until I accidentally saw an incredible Japanese boy skate his heart out with such intensity in his FS at the world championships in Boston. My first thoughts were "Figure skating can be like this? This is incredible. This is the most fantastic thing i've ever seen." Even though he fell, even though Javi was just wonderful, Yuzu changed everything for me. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I'd ever watch this sport seriously. There will be many more like me after the Olympics and it will be the same incredible program that changes them.
  11. I'm not sure. He did a little jump with one arm up in POTO (stop haunting me!) which was very nice but I'm just not sold on multi-rotational tanoing. I'm sure he'd change my mind, though. One of the things I don't like about them is how ugly they turn with only a slight elbow bend or if the hand is too far over the centre. Then it starts looking like a weird twisty wind chime.
  12. I love that he just does it on one combo - it makes it more special and gives each jump/combo a different feeling or character as opposed to doing every jump like that. It's a beautiful little accent. A tano as well might be nice (if Yuzu does it) but I'm still not sure how I feel about tanos.
  13. Well Rippon's rippons are dead straight and he crosses his wrists rather than grasping one, which I love to death, but I don't think there's a 'right' way.
  14. I lolled so hard at his cat faces. I think it's time to bombard Fuji again and demand opening and finale AT LEAST!
  15. I'm so happy to be alive at the same time as this miracle.
  16. Will there be new footage this morning? I seriously screwed up my body by staying up all last night and now can't sleep because I'm all sick so I may aswell stay up if there's more to come.
  17. I don't know if this is a thing but the angle between his arms and torso is so perfect when jumps. Others are much more elbow-goes-in-waist HUGHUGHUG. I want to hang his jump silhouette on my wall.
  18. Someone make a compilation of blade sounds, please. Srs.
  19. I thought 4Lo was only my second favourite jump but I don't know. I'm so sorry, 3A!
  20. I know. Even the sound is perfect. Look how sharp his arms like blades. So fast. Ending pose 10,000 times more deadly.
  21. Maybe it's just an homage to the plain black pants. Guards go pants-top-top-pants. (I just don't want black for SEIMEI. >_>)
