  1. Time really flies i started following Yuzu after sochi team event where i fell in love with his amazing sp. i was in my 1st yr uni back then, as a pre med student. And then I watched Yuzu won his 2nd Olympics gold as a 1st yr med student. Now, 4 yrs later, im gonna watch yuzu competes for another gold at Beijing Olympics as a 1st yr junior doctor Idc about the scores anymore bc the judges were already sus during the team event, but i am hoping for Yuzuru to finally able to complete 2 perfectly clean programs. I still remember how he really regretted not having a clean fp back then at Sochi. Yuzu FIGHTING
  2. We really live in a time where a free program with 4 quads + 2 3As is considered as an easy layout wow this is actually crazy
  3. if Yuzu decides to compete at the Beijing Olympics, these people better show how thankful they are bc at this point Yuzu doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone, he’s a legend of figure skating for years already PERIODT. I hate the way the narrative keeps on changing. Sometimes the media talks as if he is a legend from the past, and then bam they change it to how they expect him to do so and so. Before PC oly, all media tried to belittle his achievements (sochi oly, his WRs etc), so I’m not surprised they will try to belittle his achievements once again now that we’re closer to a new oly season (if it does happen). I just hate how EVERYONE expects him to do more than others. The judges, the media, sport critics etc like I don’t think any other athletes would survive this long if they face the same treatments as Yuzu.
  4. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! May 2021 be a great year for all of us!!!!
  5. Yuzu has been training in TCC for like 8 yrs, which could be considered as such a long time to live overseas away from family and friends. I think before, he hasn’t had an experience to be completely without a coach for a long time, thus he felt the need to go back asap to Toronto post competitions. In addition, he had a lot of injuries so he needed a lot of specialised training regimens from a more experienced coaches. However, currently he may feel being independent from TCC is doable. His mother and him sacrificed a lot to live in Toronto for such a long time, so if he could stay and practice in Japan and has a good result, I think he may want to consider doing that instead of going back living overseas. However, he mentioned about the lack of objective views about his performance/ jumps during practice and he also would discuss the problematic 0 spin thingy with his coaches (which I assumed tcc coaches), which kinda shows that going 100% independent is pretty difficult. No matter how good of an athlete you are, it’s sometimes really difficult to see what’s wrong with your practice/ performance without others’ perspective and inputs. A pro- tennis player for example (Djokovic, Federer etc). They don’t hire coaches because they need to learn more about tennis, they hire coaches to improve their game plan by utilising the tools (serve, rally etc) they already have. In addition, the coaches are there to remind them to do the right thing. This I believe is pretty similar to what Yuzu needs. Yuzu at this point in his career most probably doesn’t need a coach to teach him about figure skating. He already has one of the best techniques and he knows what needs to be done. But, he needs someone else to monitor his practices, give inputs to his performances and remind him to do the right thing. I guess, once the pandemic is over, there may be a possibility of him spending less time in TCC and more time in Japan. I believe he knows what’s best for him because no one understands him better than himself. However, going 100% independent without a homebase rink and coaching team while actively competing and preparing for the Olympics sounds really really difficult.
  6. I can’t believe I wake up to a news of Yuzu jumping quints like WTF this is not how my morning should be
  7. I just want to say I can’t wait to see the day when Yuzu basically kills the system once again with his incredible skate and leaves without turning back. Imagine if Yuzu skates his grand plan into existence (yup perfect skate with all those quads) before the Olympic season and he just goes “ok, I have done everything I want in this sport, now it’s time for me to challenge other things in life” and ditches the whole sport right before Olympics. That would be the biggest revenge to this ISU ridiculousness. ISU said before they were changing the system to accommodate the tech changes in the field and to make sure it’s not all about tech. But clearly we can see that they change the system to crown a new star and turn the previous/ current star into dust. They didn’t show any appreciation to Yuzu. They only mention Yuzu when they need attention. So yeah imagine when Yuzu hypes everyone with his complete package (high tech + PC) and just leaves. Like did you all remember PC? How he brought the spotlight to figure skate discipline when he arrived? Yeah can’t wait for ISU to finally miss that
  8. Just stopped by to say: I just watched the BESP commentary and the commentators kinda went “I don’t understand why he’s coming back this season, instead of riding his Olympic title fame.” And basically they were thankful for his decision to still want to compete at the highest level. They kinda made it seemed like the FS competition world was thankful for his presence and performance and I was so proud.
  9. https://twitter.com/geumna/status/1057767777988034560?s=21 anyone talking about 4T-3A combo yet? Like idk if I maybe misunderstood? Anyone can help?
  10. I went to the city to restock my vodka and beer🍺 so ready for the birth of nessie
  11. I can’t believe this. This is too tragic. He lost his life over car side mirrors. He is only 25 yo. He is an Olympian. He doesn’t deserve this.
  12. Yuzu is so efficient this season icb. In 3 competitions, he made the only 3 headlines that mattered in this 2017-2018 season
  13. Today at home Yuzu be like “so have u guys missed me yet?”
  14. Aww i like her, she’s so talented! Bless u to put the video here, I could see Yuzu and Nishikori in one video hahaha it’s great to see another fellow great athlete is cheering and amazed by Yuzu!
