oh my goodness, this is so interesting!! I've never seen this snippet before.... Funny: I watched the 12 Kingdoms AGES ago and got really hooked. It's such a beautiful anime. Yuzu skating to it's theme song would be really interesting! I'm also very eager to see him do a movie OST medley again. And though it may sound weird, I think there is a lot of beautiful material in game OSTs, also.

Aw I feel your pain. though...the situation is even worse here in uk! Nothing comes here. To see world-class figure skating competitions we have to jump on a plane I'm quite sure that Yuzu would never have to set foot on UK soil his whole career lol!

Those 4 front-runners though! A definite thematic preference surfacing for epic emotionality...but then this is Yuzu we're talkin' about! ^ ^ Hope and Legacy Chopin Ballade Seimei Romeo and Juliet 1 I went for R&J 1 myself: not because it is his most accomplished or polished skate (obvs), but because it (--and particularly his Worlds performance in Nice--) moves me in a way that few things can: Yuzu's got this incredible, unbridled authenticity in it that cuts to the heart of the viewer! :love: So R&J1 is still the most visceral and powerful for me, regardless of the fact that he was still so young and not as technically accomplished as he is in Seimei, LGC or H&L.

Did not know his favorite colour is red, which by some strange coincidence is my favorite colour too :grin: I like the idea of combining a mainly black costume (a nod to the UA :love: enthusiasts) with burgundy red (or bright red) on the upper part, which would emphasize his shoulders, and of course lots of bling! If the Olympic good luck color is blue, maybe dark navy blue, instead of black. Guess we will have to see what the SP and FS music is and then our imaginations can run wild :drool: Past costumes, liked H&L, first version of the Chopin costume, R&J 1 (for sentimental reasons), Phantom. I'm neutral about the boob shirt :think: , so far. I think I read that his fave colour is red on a Japanese site - will try and dig that reference up! omg yes - I would love to see him in some kind of all-black costume (aside from his practise gear ofc!) - 'black swan' style would be interesting? To be fair, I think that the contrast between programmes is wonderful, as it runs through music and presentation alike ^ - ^ & I do want to see him in a proper tailored suit for the after-party, too.... tailoring, all the way!

I actually really enjoyed the 'night and day' aspect of his SP vs LP costumes this season: it was great to see his range! LGC showed that he rocks tailoring as well as the more ethereal, floaty numbers that we all know and love. Also I heard his favourite colour is red- will we see some red next season? ((It may be an 'auspicious' colour in Chinese culture- but in Japan also, red has several powerful connotations and meanings!))

Afterthought: Aside from technical mastery, the most compelling skates are the one where the skater embodies a character/ several characters and acts the story convincingly. R&J worked so well 'cause Yuzu BECAME both Romeo and Juliet - he embodied both characters equally, right down to Juliet's suicide by dagger :,) one might even go as far as to say he tried to inhabit the major tropes of the drama: Duty; Love; Loss. So exploring again the avenue of epic movie soundtracks for his FS could be a winner; there are so many fantastic pieces to choose from out there, and they all exist with the purpose of lending emotional expression to narrative tales about humanity (which is what the greatest movies and books explore). If he follows this thread, we will again be swept up in Yuzuru's physical eloquence :)

YES x1000000 to this! :love: While I also love Yuzu's more introspective and calm programs like Chopin Ballade and Notte Stellata, I think Yuzu's forte is dramatic music and I really want to see him do a program where he just lets it all out again a la Romeo and Juliet I. I think Mad Max is a good choice because it has many rhythmic(?) moments in it that would fit well with step sequences, and also dramatic and sweeping climaxes that would be perfect for his Ina Bauer. I don't think many people have skated to it, which is also another perk? Wouldn't want another POTO season during the Olympics. :nono: I totally agree! I think one of his most appealing traits is his capacity for variety: he has an amazing spectrum and isn't one of those skaters with the apparent emotional range of a potato. As a result, R&J1 is still one of the best LP soundtracks ever conceived for him! Would love to see something like this again next season. And I loved how he played up his maturity in LGC- so I really agree and think something fun and sexy for the SP again would be great! A rock song, and it could be something more contemporary like Til the Love Runs Out by OneRepublic (love this song) :D
