  1. 先生 sensei is used as an honorific title for doctors, lawyers, politicians, novelists, or other respected professionals, in addition to various kinds of teachers or tutors including coaches. It is used too easily in some aspects, so much so that some people even say self-deprecatingly or sarcastically, "I'm not great enough to be called Sensei"
  2. Just for your information, Shizuka Arakawa's Friends + a featuring Yuzuru in 2013 and 2015-2016 now starts on the same channel for two hours
  3. Don't forget about this 日本一 No. 1 in Japan (just like Mt. Fuji)
  4. He is digging a grave? It seems https://lyricstranslate.com/ja/ashura-chan-ashura-chan.html-0
  5. I was so soul-struck by his incredible dancing that I forgot I barely understood the lyrics of Ashura-chan It's so fast and difficult to catch. I only knew he was digging graves https://lyricstranslate.com/ja/ashura-chan-ashura-chan.html-0
  6. This seems to be a video shown at the welcoming ceremony of new employees of ANA in 2018. In Japan, majority of new graduates enter companies in April.
  7. Mission complete for a Fanyu for today. What will come tomorrow?
  8. Choco Pie https://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2023/03/30/kiji/20230330s00079000579000c.html
  9. OK, I've won the lottery for the ticket for FaOI Makuhari on May 27th (Sat) I could go to Makuhari last year too. Strict ticket system may be working. Prologue? Forget about it But, the maximum number of tickets we can buy for a day is 2 this year, which was 4 last year. Don't know why.
  10. I think it is due to the broadcasting rights owned by TV stations. This program is the one by TV Asahi, and it has broadcasting rights in Grand Prix Series (except NHK Trophy), and Fuji TV has the rights in the Nationals and Worlds (unfortunately TBH). Edit: I'm not sure about the rights in the Olympics, which seems to be complicated, and it may be easier for TV Asahi to use the Grand Prix Series ones.
  11. Another broadcasting news! Prologue with backstage episodes on April 29 (19:00 - ) on TV Asahi 1 (CS channel) https://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/ch/contents/sports/0583/
  12. Notte Stellata will be broadcasted twice, on March 31 (21:30) and April 23 (18:00) - full version, on Nittele Plus (CS channel). https://www.nitteleplus.com/program/nottestellata/ Luckily, my CS subscription includes this channel
  13. Congrats Kao and Team Japan ! Now 3 spots for Junior men and women again
  14. I cannot watch the event live, or even recorded one until next week (digest version, though). Shame on you Fuji TV Team Japan is doing great anyway. Mao and Kao are in first place with SP. Ami, the third, and Nozomu, the seventh (not far from the podium by the point) I hope they will get 3 spots again Japanese pair team finished in the forth place. Great achievement
  15. Year, he said "わー、オリンピックだあー Wow... It's Olympics....", looking around from the podium after winning the gold medal at Sochi
  16. Yuzu and Shohei Ohtani. Can I kidnap this?
  17. We call "snow globe" スノードーム (suno domu - snow dome) in Japanese. Such a high affinity with Yuzuru.
  18. This seems to be a special present from Miyagi TV. You can apply for a Notte Stellata ticket by collecting 3 QR codes showing on the TV screen. So, I think people who can watch Miyagi TV can apply for it. The present ticket will be only one for each day You can select the day but cannot select the seat, and you have to arrange the transportation to the venue (and accommodation if needed) yourself. Who will be such a lucky one
  19. I found 高嶺の花子さん Takane no Hanako-san (with English subtitles) that Yuzu enjoyed at Kohaku on New Year's eve. 高嶺の花 literally means "flower on lofty heights or mountain", implying a woman who is as unattainable as the moon, plus girl's name Hanako, jokingly. You can watch the above Aoi Haru with English subtitles too.
  20. I didn't record it, but as far as I remember, 高嶺の花子さん Takane no Hanako-san 水平線 Suiheisen 黄色 Kiiro (yellow) 怪盗 Kaito (mysterious thief) SISTER アイラブユー I love you I wanted to listen 青い春 Aoi Haru too. It's my favorite
  21. Back number on NHK now Oh, I didn't expect this. I hope Yuzu is watching the program.
  22. Happy New Year from Japan, everyone
