I’m not into ID like that but things keep popping up on my tl. The latest one is pretty funny though.

It's always been one big soap opera. Who's with whom, whose coach is doing what, who's connected to whom so whose son/daughter is gaining which scores, are these judges conspiring or is this fed pushing, who's breaking up or hooking up, good grief, there's no end to it. Not sure what is happening right now but nothing would surprise me. Nothing. ID is high drama! 

While I'm still ignoring the fact that men happened today (and being afraid to find out what exactly happened), here are my impressions from the ice dance competition:

 

The most important one is that I completely fell in love with Guillaume in the short dance. His movements are stunning, sexy, incredible... I can't really put it into words, but he has something very, very special about him. I don't know if I've ever seen a better dancer. He was great today, too (but for some weird reason I just don't get this program. Try as I might, I can't really feel it). And, of course Gabi is stunning and absolutely manages to keep up with him. Kudos to her! What a deserved win for the three-time world champions!

 

H/D were out-of-this-world precise in both their programs. Each tone was matched and their movements were huge. I can't really feel their competition programs, either, but absolutely appreciate the technique. I hope they'll be doing Believer instead of their new gala in the exhibition.

 

To me C/L and W/P were on the same level of excitement. Very, very touching performances in the free. I love both couples and have no idea who deserved the bronze. I would probably go with C/L because I like their short dance more.

 

 

Missed it but catching up! Highlights for me:

- Wang/Liu and Kana/Chris are so lovely. I hope they are able to rise through the ranks more especially since skaters from Asian countries seem to be at a disadvantage with ID

- What a wonderful swan song for Anna and Luca. I cried when they cried. I will miss them soooo much

- I wanted Anna and Luca for bronze but I will accept WeaPo (now please move away from Morozov)

- No surprise here (especially since it's me) but I LOVED Piper and Paul

 

ETA:

- I hate their FD but I still prefer C/B over H/D

Just finished watching FD and i really liked how almost everyone got SB scores. Maybe i was too salty cause of Mens' but i could really feel everyone skating today, i felt their energy. For me the FD was really good!
