Marinin was so happy and proud that he posted a two-shot photo with Yuzuru Hanyu on Instagram, and Marinin's mother (a former figure skater who has represented Uzbekistan at the Olympics) took a photo together. It was my son's dream to shoot with Yuzuru-san.

Do we really care whether IM is happy...lol

We may disapprove of his technique but there’s no need to be mean spirited - there is plenty of that on social media, a lot of it directed at Y and his fans, some unfortunately instigated by purported fanyus.  Don’t copy them, rise above their behaviour.  He doesn’t behave like that.

Sorry, I should have said: Do 'I' really care about IM is happy? Rather than 'we'...because this is exactly how I felt🤪 I only care about whether Yuzu is happy and healthy. Is he taking enough rest whilst doing so many ice shows at such a short span of time?🙏🥳🎉 I didn't comment anything about IM's technique as you have stated 'We may disapprove of his technique'....

One of the many highlights of Gift was seeing Yuzu's blade marks on the ice, the fleeting memory of a movement. The ice marks tell their own beautiful story and like all the best stories, they are both the same and different in the telling each time.

Seeing the News Every footage of Yuzu with Kohei and them planning their performance, Yuzu drew some of his proposed programme. The pen strokes would be destined to become ice marks. These connections are a tantalising glimpse into Yuzu's mind and creative processes, a privilege to see that on screen.

When Yuzu performs, we admire his:

Skating skills

Jumps

Spins

Costumes

Artistry and many more...

I always look out for his ice marks during his competitive years if he happened to skate first or after ice resurfacing.

During his pro era, only during his solo ice shows or the opening of SOI🥰😍

I didn’t infer that you had - and if you had I wouldn’t have an issue.  I think it’s fine to criticise other skaters technique, lack of expression, their skating in general - but not to get personal about it, in the absence of any active bad behaviour on the part of the other skater in question (looking at you Mr Weir). IM actually seems to be a fan - perhaps be happy for a fellow fan who has had the chance to take a photo with him.

Statement like 'There is no need to be mean spirited' - it's really not a nice way to say to a person who was innocent of criticising other skater's technique, facial expression etc...

I just meant that it seemed a bit unkind to throw cold water on the boys enthusiasm - we can agree to disagree.
