February 19, 20224 yr Congrats to Sui/Han on getting the Olympic gold, so well deserved! It was worth going for the quad twist and the more difficult death spiral, because these elements made the difference today, even PCS couldn't have saved them. This was a very nice and technically strong performance from them today, worthy for the Olympic gold! It was touching to see Wenjing's reaction when they ended the performance (I still need to catch up with the medal ceremony, more crying will follow I think!) T/M also skated very well at this competition, I can't even remember when was the last time they skated back-to-back great programs without much errors. Most of their elements are really great quality-wise, though the 3S wasn't very nice today (they didn't get much GOE on it). And in general I think they have less charisma and chemistry together compared to someone like S/H but they still got the highest PCS anyway. M/G looked more tentative and slow today, and her 3S definitely looked as a step-out. They are generously scored as always so I can only hope they will have some competition if we won't see S/H (and maybe T/M?) from next season. Boikova/Kozlovskii weren't clean today...I still like them better than M/G, I think they have more personality on the ice. I hope to see them stronger next season. I liked P/J's FS choice...happy for them on finishing Top 5, I hope to see them improving more next quad. And finally I'm so happy for Riku and Ryuichi, what a great free skate it was, new SB!!! This is such a great year for them. It was a well skated final event after a stressful, upsetting and sad Olympics.
February 22, 20224 yr Unfortunately another doping case appears in this Olympics according Reuters.
