It was a 3T and yeah. They did the same at 4CC this year.

My wish is for P.Chiddy and Yuzu to have more awkward conversations... ala worlds'17 green room or 4cc gala.

I find it endearing for some reason. hahaha..

Yuzu can maybe help Chiddy with his 3a and Chiddy can give advise on SS (not that Yuzu really needs them but there's always room for improvement).

Speaking about Mama Hanyu. I have another silly curiosity. Did Mama Hanyu go to Sochi Olym with Yuzu? I'm curious cause I know that she accompanied him in most of competition but when I look at fancam during Sochi, I just found him with Kikuchi san. So I got curious about this. Sorry if it's off topic!!

I'm always for more Patrick and Yuzu moments. Their tentative conversations at 4CC and Worlds were so endearing in their awkwardness.

It's even funnier now because Yuzu is like the awkward middle child in FS. Not old enough to be an uncle with the low quad count and more 'artistry' and not young enough to be just all about the quads. Yuzu's just there, bridging both as best he can.

And breaking WRs.

And by funny, I actually mean kind of lonely. Yuzu doesn't have a clique to fit in.

Now I'm kind of sad too.

I had very little sleep today.

Well... now you're making me sad :sorrow:

Dear Keiji and Ryuju... pull your shit together you two..

I need more of this Yuzu (he was positively glowing all throughout NHK 16)

So was anyone here a fan of Yuzu since Sochi 2014? I became a fan after the Olympics so I need advice from those who experienced the olympic season. The anxiety I get is too much reading about 4 Lutz and more combo, 10 pairs of skating boots and maybe 5/6 quads, training 4 Flip like a beast, training and perfecting 4 Loop, better skating skills and more quads... and all we get for Yuzu is that we know he is training hard and that nothing is concrete yet... I mean.. I like that Yuzu is on the low radar so he can focus but at the same time reading about the other skater's preparation is really hard..

And since its the Olympics I know that every skater will go all out to fight for it but the stress and anxiety is too much. Maybe anyone of those who were fans of previous olympics like from Torino or Vancouver could help. How did you guys survive this! :crazyshit:

I can only speak about my general experiences like @Danibellerika did :) I've been watching the Olympics also since the late 1990s and my first Olympics I followed was Salt Lake City 2002. I was more into ladies skating then, Irina was my favourite and I really wanted her to beat Michelle. It's a bittersweet memory now because she beat Michelle not only at the Olympics but at Worlds also, but at the same time I was disappointed that she couldn't win the gold.

I was very happy about Yagudin's 2002 victory and the whole Yagudin-Plush rivalry until SLC was very exciting to follow. But things were really different back then in a way that I didn't have internet at that time, there was no twitter, youtube or instagram either...I could only hear bits of news when I watched Europeans/Worlds/Olympics in TV. I didn't hear that much about the intensity of their rivaly. So because of this, though I was waiting for the Olympic Games very much, the preceding months before it were less nervous. But not the competitions themselves, because I bit my nails off during them.

Before Vancouver the Yuna-Mao rivalry was also great to follow but I was quite relaxed about Yuna, because Mao wasn't in the form of her life in that season and Yuna seemed very confident and dominant throughout whole 2009/2010 (well, except Worlds but it was after Olys). I followed the Plush-Lysacek rivalry from the distance, because I rather cheered for Brian, Johnny and Stephane,  and I hoped one of them could medal, but it didn't happen.

After Vancouver I started to do more research about the sport and by the help of fs communities, streaming sites and Youtube, I started to follow it on a more regular basis, which made me more excited about figure skating.

I started to cheer for Yuzuru in 2013/2014 but the experience will be different this season than it was four years ago. In 2013 I hoped that he had the chance to win a medal in Sochi. But because of Patrick's dominance, I didn't dream about Yuzu winning the gold medal, which then immediately changed after GPF 2013...The last two months before the Games were really exciting, also because I had the opportunity to go to the last big event before Sochi, which was the European Championships in my hometown. Then the team events started soon after that and I was really optimistic that Yuzuru would win the gold.

As Danibellerika also said, knowing that he already has OGM brings some comfort, because no one can take away that from him. At the the same time, because I know how much he wants to do his very best in PyeongChang + also because this season will be the peak of the last four years in many ways + other reasons as well, this coming months will be the most exiciting figure skating experience of my life

I can't wait for it and cheer for Yuzu from all my heart :0006:

It's a safe bet to say she was there. She accompanies him to all his comps but has amazing ninja skills in that she disappears when cameras are in the vicinity. Some people have been able to catch a quick photo snap though.

he even looks good wearing bright yellow or orange which are some of the most difficult colors to wear!!!

i have not seen ANY color in which he does not look good in!

so jealous (since i like many colors that i can't wear!)

It's not the color that's the problem with him, it's the cut or the outfit. There are some unsalvageable outfits that even he can't make look good. Ziggystrawberry, that Lotte frilly mess, salesman suits...

But when you think about it... Seimei or the Omnyoji OST is not a warhorse...  :winky:

Honestly, if i was a skater, I would be too scared to touch that soundtrack. hahaha

Unless you're a novice/junior. I've seen some adorable homages from the young.

I see. She must be so proud of him at that moment:space:
