I never really understand why JSF is so incompetent when it comes to politic when Japanese people basically fund this sport right now. This can make for a grand finale of a thesis for the Sport Politics and/or International Relations peeps One of us should totally get to this, following Yuzu's footsteps Link to comment

Ladysci
Seems like Yuzu will have to go to WTT . And Shoma too, not Yuma ! I'm really worried about him since Osaka is having a major spike in the number of Covid cases, about 50% with the UK variant! Wonder if he was given no choice. I thought he was "safe" from going when he landed in Tokyo, rather than Kansai. I live close enough to Osaka to try for tickets, but since most Japanese have not been vaccinated, I think it's much to dangerous to hold an event that size and is totally irresponsible. 公益財団法人日本スケート連盟 (@skatingjapan) Tweeted: 世界フィギュアスケート国別対抗戦2021の日本代表選手が発表されました。 詳細は下記よりご覧ください。 https://t.co/jsZuPpJRG4 #羽生結弦 #宇野昌磨 #紀平梨花 #坂本花織 #三浦璃来 #木原龍一 #小松原美里 #小松原尊 (Tim KOLETO) #2021WTT #フィギュアスケート https://t.co/24FRTco75z https://twitter.com/skatingjapan/status/1377173536238759936?s=20 This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS]. Was hoping they would send Yuma and Shoma to WTT, since they are the JSF darlings. But I expected them to send Yuzu and Yuma since they were the WC medalists, but I guess they're going after the $$$ by sending Yuzu and Shoma. I heard no quarantine for the international teams, and they're going to have an audience, so there's not going to be any bubble or testing either. Link to comment

Totally agree that they want to make as much money as possible and they don't care at all about the risk they are putting their own skaters in. Considering the price of the tickets, they would lose loads of profit if the event doesn't take place or takes place without an audience. Hoping that the Osaka government will put a stop to this; they have already started a semi-state of emergency where bars and restaurants have to close before 8 pm. They are making an exception for those international teams, because France, Russia, USA, and Canada are still not allowed to enter Japan, and even if they could, there is a 14 day quarantine! Think they (Seiko and TV Asahi) negotiated with the government --- could a native Japanese speaker confirm whether this is actually true please. Link to comment

But also, what are the chances of it getting cancelled? It seems very likely that Osaka will declare state of emergency soon. Link to comment

That's odd. I thought it would be Yuzu & Yuma or Shoma & Yuma. To give Yuma some experience competing in Team events before 2022 Olympics. Link to comment

Melodie
Full entries Since the gold medalists are here can they just send the silver medalists too, or can all teams follow Canada to send out alternative teams? Asking for a friend Link to comment
Muralla17
I don't understand a word.... 1) I didn't know Yuzu likes to attend WTT 2) If Japanese skaters have to be under isolation, that this means they won't be able to train until de competition? 3) What about skaters from other countries? Did they go back to their training bases and will travel to Japan with no quarantine in any direction? Any info is wellcome since I don't really understand anything. Thank you so much. lynnidolz
Wow for sure i thought Yuma and Shoma are the ones participating in WTT.I guess they aim for the ticket sales then.If no 14 days quarantine hope they atleast done PCR testing for all the foreigner skaters. How are skaters that attend Worlds able to come...for example Nathan said in the post competition press conference that his plan after Worlds is to spend time with family after finished the quarantine..Are they coming straight away from Sweeden to Japan?and i hope atleast the Russian skaters have the decency to wear properly while in Japan Link to comment
