:offtopic:Doesn't watching these competitions without Yuzu, even elite ones, make you appreciate his godly 3A all over again? And also makes you realise that he's really the only one with a chance of ever landing Nessie in competition.

Sorry, but that's the most on topic post of all time. The only thing that came close to warming my heart was the promise of Han Yan but he popped his 2nd 3A. :(

I present to you the ladies' short programme at Skate America. I don't even know what kind of chicanery to expect from judges anymore.

This is more of a what-will-judges-do lottery than a skating season, really, by this point, and the skating gods are getting into the act and beginning to Hunger Games off the men, so I no longer have the faintest idea what will happen anywhere. Yuzu is well out of the GP. I am GLAD I don't have to die inside waiting for disaster to strike him at GPF.

I was just saying earlier Shoma is likely gold medal for being in Nagoya, and then Karen and Ashley came around with this in SkAm and immediately think "okay, so maybe this is impossible to predict". Even on home, judges are increasing impossible to predict. I think for sure Nathan will win FS, even with messed up program because judges love Nathan, and then Adam wins - I am definitely not complaining, Adam skated gloriously. And then I see Satton and Kaori in the lead of SP after Japan ladies are consistently robbed at all other GP events?? :tumblr_inline_ncmiffG34Z1rpglid: And Gabby in 3rd, making NO American ladies in the top three??

Yuzuru is lucky to not be here for this mess.... Who knows what would happen to him in GPF. I'm just waiting for some freak incident to occur and Voronov take gold again or something. It's impossible to predict what these judges will do. Hopefully this issue is shorted out by the Olympics:tumblr_inline_mzx90enaUF1r8msi5:Judges, get selves in order!

It was off the topics being discussed.

Han Yan's 3A especially in the short was probably the best from SA but I found myself comparing it to Yuzu's, and, well...

And the extra extra long setups they have for it. Yuzu is just extra. Extra extra.

:smiley-laughing021: I like how we're now complaining about how biased judging is unpredictable, not about biased judging itself. Incompetent/politically motivated judging is just commonplace now.

His 3A is always on topic. Everyone else has to wait until 3A has finished being discussed!

And I think I must side with his detractors; he has completely ruined figure skating! (Well, not really, I'll still watch and enjoy it but I feel like it's a lot more of a chore when he's not there. I can't help but compare, either.)

Yes. I could almost weep at how sad it is we're not going to see a Hanyu 3A for like another 4 weeks.

Of course. How dare his jumps have excellent technique with no UR or pre-rotation, how dare his spins be so difficult and well executed, how dare his edges be so clear and his transitions so beautiful! It makes judging candy too evident when you compare, punish him immediately!
