I had the same problem and decided to create a completely new account since I didn't want to risk not being admitted to the venue should I be so lucky to win. I hope that was the right move...  But I don't know if anybody has ever really been turned away because of that.

 

Maybe I could have updated my previous account but when I tried a couple of months ago it resulted in an error message. But now I know that the error was due to having translated my first names separately ‐ it is only accepted if you delete the spaces between your first names before translation to hiragana, so. e.g. "MarieTherese" instead of "Marie‐Therèse". Maybe try this first?

 

What's most important is not to use more than one account, so should you decide to make a new one, I would strongly recommend to abandon the old one completely, so that you don't get disqualified. At least that's what I am doing...
