Helloooo I'm suddenly barging in in despair (and ranting over jpn tv always giving me headaches) because I've just realized I've been so out of the loop in the past 6months or so, that now I can't even seem to find how to subscribe jpn tv streaming services anymore? like...

how do I watch tv asahi? to watch Echoes??? Like, I waited to catch on the non-beyondlive days till I could be free and watch all replays legally but apparently my old go-to bookmarked streaming services are...gone? wut? I'm feeling so lost right now? :tumblr_inline_n2pjcykAXc1qdlkyg: why can't jpn tv make things easier for me? where can I subscribe to whatever is currently available? or rather, what can I subscribe to? heeeelp?:embSwan:

A lot of the services are out and can't be renewed. I don't know what's going on. In January, my JapanTV year-long subscription will expire and I won't be able to access it anymore either. Honestly, I will rely on Bilibili uploaders.

P.S.

Spoiler

YoiTV is free for now. I don't know how long it'll remain so or if it'll be discontinued as well. You could give that a try.

You guys might have forgotten, but I have just finished the translation of Takahito MURA's article. Sorry for the delay.

It was difficult to translate music-related terms :14066882:

羽生結弦さんは「音を細かいところまで徹底的に拾う」 無良崇人さん語る異次元の感性 30歳カウントダウン - スポーツ報知

Spoiler

After Yuzuru HANYU (29) turned pro, his “big brother” mate, Takahito MURA (33), who has been skating with Yuzuru HANYU (29) since he turned pro, at the “notte stellata” ice show (March, Miyagi), “Charity Ice Show to Assist Reconstruction of Noto Peninsula” (September, Ishikawa), and other events, talked about the greatness of "The Pro Skater Yuzuru HANYU," from the same skater's point of view.

MURA:  Yuzuru's professional activities can be summed up in one word: "another dimension." He is exactly a "professional athlete" as he said at the press conference announcing his decision (to be pro). He must be practicing a great deal, and his preparations and quest to perform at his best are incredible. I went to see his first one-man show, “Prologue” (November 2022, Yokohama). The first thing I want to say out loud is that it is not normal to skate an ice show all by himself. I could understand if it was a 15 or 30 minute program, but 90 minutes? Seriously? It was a real shock. I knew it but he really wasn't normal. I thoroughly enjoyed Yuzuru Hanyu from start to finish that day.

I have participated in “Yuzuru Hanyu notte stellata” for two years in a row since last year. For Yuzu, this ice show was a great expression of his feelings about the Great East Japan Earthquake. When we prepared and rehearsed together, Yuzu himself mentioned that and I really got the feeling from his attitude towards the performance. Every time I have the opportunity to skate with him, I feel his passion, almost like an obsession, that he puts into each show.

In September, I performed with Yuzu, Akiko Suzuki, and Satoko Miyahara in the “Charity Ice Show to Assist Reconstruction of Noto Peninsula. The opening performance was the "Noto Kiriko Matsuri (Festival)" by the Japanese drum (taiko or wadaiko) team Toranosuke in Wajima City. It was my first time skating to a taiko drum piece, and it was difficult. When I listened to it partway through, I had no idea where it started. Yuzu worked very hard and listened to the music until the very last minute to find out “from which note we should start moving considering the number of notes in the part.

For the finale, Mrs. Green Apple's "Que Sera Sera," performed by duo, was choreographed by Yuzu. The way he captured and picked up the sounds was also amazing. He takes twice as many sounds as a normal person would. He puts in multiple movements for each lyric or sound in a song. The rhythm that Yuzu usually takes is different from the one we usually take.

For example, instead of taking “1” in counting “1, 2, 3,he takes 0.5 first and then wait for a moment afterwards. Or, trying to take the sound not evenly intentionally. It was a fresh surprise to me to see, like oh, taking the sound like that here! After everyone had finished practicing, he would say, "I'm going to practice until I feel a bit more confident, and then go home," and stay behind to practice. He is a person who, once he decides to do something, will do it until he is satisfied with it.

I can't wait to see what Yuzuru will be like in his 30s. After he became a professional, he even said, "I think I'm in better physical condition now." I am sure he will show us more and more evolved skating. When I was a competitive skater, I used to be in the competition, thinking “Yuzu is working hard, so I have to work hard, too. If there is anything I can do for Yuzu, I would like to return the favor.
