Yes I am. I'm not expecting any sort of response of course.

The article was pretty upsetting (both from the bias exhibited by Ice Network, and from the proposed changes on the part of the ISU). I'll probably write a longer post about it on my blog but ultimately I think I'm going to send my feedback through the form on the ISU website. It's not likely just my feedback will change anything, but it's not like they're going to read my blog so I may as well try. I would recommend anyone else with objections to it try doing this as well or sharing your feedback via social media, and maybe they can at least come to their senses that their approach to balancing technical and non-technical parts of this sport is extremely misguided, and that despite all the quads, figure skating is clearly very popular and thriving in certain countries. After all, which event sold out the quickest at NHK Trophy, GPF, and the Olympics? If they ignore those signs then clearly they are too ignorant and disconnected to realize that the ISU is the problem, not the quads.

I think Gladi translated it previously on GS and included a link in the google doc here.

In the US paprika is commonly used to refer to the dry spice, but is actually the real name for a red bell pepper. It's just that people always call it a red bell pepper and don't realize it's a paprika pepper. That's what paprika the spice is made from. I have made the same mistake as Yuzu before. Mistaking a slice of roasted red bell pepper for a tomato in my sandwich. It was a gross surprise as I hate bell peppers.

My guess is they'll sell them in bookstores with a calendar section when it's released.

I'm sure Brian wishes Javi and Yuzu would rub off on each other sometimes! I hope we get that quad lutz footage sometimes this season regardless if he plans to put it in or not. His jumps are such a a beauty I'm sure I'll be rewatching it in awe for a long time. As it is I rewatch the one with the messy landing from WTT quite often.

Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on these interviews! I've been eating them up and really enjoying Yuzu, Brian, and Shae-Lynn's points of view. It's too bad David Wilson was sick as I'm curious what he would've had to say (and also why he would've been there since one of his past interviews made it seem like he no longer worked with Yuzu - but that was before Notte Stellata). Supposedly they filmed his 4lz attempts during FaoI practice, right? I think there was one landed not perfectly, and one that was absolutely perfect. I really want to see it, but I feel like they're purposely holding that footage. Maybe when/if he eventually announces a lutz.

I've was trying to find this earlier tonight, but does Gangneung Ice Arena have a seating chart? Got the seat assignments for the team event and can only speculate as to how good they may be.

Wow, what a labor of love! I'll be at ACI and I would actually love to learn how to make one and contribute to the stash if you're bringing any origami paper there.

By the power of Dick Button...!

I suspect he got the Chacott jacket at least while he was doing Fantasy on Ice. I think they had a booth during FaoI and Johnny has a video of himself in a tutu dancing in front of their shop. He was also wearing it in that photo with Johnnyamd Evgenia holding the YOI dolls.

I was a once-in-four-years fan before Sochi and I loved Parisienne Walkways immediately. Parisienne Walkways smashed my pre-conceived notion of what men's figure skating was like. LGC definitely is a crowd-pleaser and plays to the audience in a similar way the PW did (although it's even more overt than PW in my opinion). I didn't love Ballade immediately, but it may be because the first version I saw of it was what he showed at Dreams on Ice and I think the size of that rink didn't allow him to show it off as well at the time (on the contrary, since his ability has increased I don't find the recent version from FaoI to have this problem). I remember I did like Ballade by the time we saw it at Cup of China (mistakes and all). LGC is playful, while Ballade has this ethereal quality to it. Both are very commanding and captivating, just in very different ways. I do think Ballade has more gravitas than LGC and that will appeal to some of the same, but also different crowd, as well.

Yeah I think you just have to read the situation and whether it's appropriate or not to ask, and that pretty much goes for any skater or any celebrity as well. Although I can imagine him signing things much more freely after he r****s.
-
Actually I was at Skate Canada and I think one of the volunteers urged him to sign those autographs since many of the other skaters signed, and there were some young children there. I don't think he was initially planning to give any autographs and he may have felt obligated to in this case, I remember thinking it was odd that he signed anything at all. This is what I heard from some fans sitting closer by the Kiss & Cry where he signed. It's pretty rare for him to give autographs so I can't help but feel like he was pressured to in this situation. At ACI he didn't even give an autograph to the little girl who stuck her card out (although he did give her a flower from his bouquet).

I have the same impression as Murieleirum. Yuzu typically does a tano for his back end double toe, but I think it's because it allows him to slow the rotation down for the double without looking too awkward.
-
Lol, that picture of someone about to put the cat ears on him.

Agreed, although it's an interesting argument. If you look at other forms of art such as dance or music, , I don't think re-doing or refining a performance is necessarily seen as being less artistic. It may not be seen as original anymore, but I think there's a value in refining and improving on something existing that's different from trying to do something completely new or avant garde. Of course, this is a sport and we're not scoring on artistry and originality, so maybe it's all moot. I haven't seen enough of the new Seimei to make a judgement, but with Chopin at FaoI I definitely felt a difference in the feel of his performance to what it was in the 2015/2016 season. It seemed to have more gravitas than it did before.

In the latter half of the season he popped that salchow into a double or single, but he popped to a triple in Skate Canada in both the SP and FS. I suppose if he pops into a double/single he could use a solo axel or another axel combo depending where the mess up might be.
-
I'm slightly confused about the axel at the end being a recovery jump, if he pops any of the repeated quads in the hypothetical layout it would be the salchow and the toe loop and he already has a 3S and a 3T in combination. He wouldn't be able to do 2 axels without zayaking, or am I missing something?
-
Actually add Seimei onto that as well, he did a shorter version of it at DOI and unveiled it in full at ACI. So I think we'll get the usual amount of news on his layout/choreography that we typically do.
-
They didn't show his full run-through (if he did it that is, we don't know). ACI was the first time we saw the program in full. The same with POTO, they only showed snippets of it.
-
When have they ever shown the full free skate before his first competition any way? I don't think that's a new development, I wasn't expecting the full program (at least the jumps!).

Why am I picturing Mario and Luigi with this description?

Please don't give me nightmares.

I know I sure am... My mind is all over the place. Anyone have any any examples of Shae-Lynn and David Wilson choreographing together to put my mind at ease? I know they worked together for All That Skate before.
