Wow! This is the project Yuzu was recently talking about. I’m blown away! He is now conquering the music world! Bravo Yuzu!!! 👏 amazing video, very exciting and his skating reflects the atmosphere of the song very much (though I don’t speak Japanese and can only judge based on the feel I have of the music).

Wow, I never noticed this was his junior program 😮 He always said he was confident when he was 9 years old and believed he could do anything. I think he was very happy back then. does this mean he is in a very good place now, that he is happy and confident? I wish it was true!

It does sell like hotcakes. You can still buy at the venue without registering using LINE. I was able to buy just before the show, some items were already sold out, but they let you get in line and purchase without any registration.

This is very interesting and educational to read. Out of curiosity are there any other ways to read kanji’s in Yuzuru name? And is it actually a popular name in Japan?

I will try other vpns you suggest and if no luck I hope some kind fanyu will upload it somewhere afterwards, if it is even possible.

Did anyone figure out how to watch the charity show on Sunday? I registered on the platform and bought a ticket, but when testing access to the platform (with VPN set to Japan) and checking if I can watch free content, I receive a message that there is no access to the platform from my location. Very strange. Maybe my VPN isn’t good enough and doesn’t work with this platform. Tips anyone?

Hi Perelandra, thank you very much for the elaborative response. I am inclining to invest in a player for dvds and blu-rays that I can use with my TV. I already have options to watch Yuzu shows on the computer, but the size of the screen (and video quality) bothers me. thank you everyone for the answers! I will continue my research on different brands and hopefully can buy a player soon to be able to enjoy the shows on big screen and in good quality

Thank you for your reply. DVD is a different story I think, because Europe and Japan are the same regions. I bought blu-rays for a better picture and sound experience and now I have created a problem for myself to solve I hope @Perelandra or someone else can help

I’m now in a possession of 2 Yuzu Blu-ray’s (Prologue and GIFT) Lucky me ☺️ and have a question to European fanyus who also have these disks (or at least one of them). I currently have no blu-ray player and am researching which one to buy. Due to different regions for Japan and Europe blu-rays I’m afraid these disks won’t play on a European blu-ray player so I might need to buy a region free one (haven’t found one yet). On the other hand, the backside of the package of these disks doesn’t say they are region-specific. so my question is: was someone able to play Yuzu disks on a European Blu-Ray player and did it work? Or does one really need a region free player? If so, what model do you own? Any experience and tips are welcome! 🙏

I’m not good in distinguishing jumps and remembering the statistics, so please forgive me for asking. When was the last time Yuzu performed 4Lo? Was it in one of his YouTube videos or during competition days?

3 top moments? Oh my, where do I begin?.. I guess I begin with saying HAPPY 2ND PRO ANNIVERSARY, YUZU! Wish you another successful year full of great achievements, moments of joy and true loving fans! I think 2 of the top 3 moments were the ones that left me speechless because I saw/read something I wasn't expecting to see and it blew my mind. 3. AERA photobook - that image of fierce, powerful, passionate Yuzu in red magma... goosebumps! 2. Announcement of GUCCI ambassadorship. My number 1 top moment and my most treasured memory that will stay with me for a very long time: 1. my visit to RE-PRAY Yokohama, which was my 1st time of seeing Yuzu live! Happy day everyone!

This is devastating. I didn’t communicate with Anny, but I remember her as an active member on this forum and the news of her sudden death really hit me. It is sad to hear that a large fanyu family lost a member My condolences to her husband, family and those who were close with her.

Thank you Martina for this article. This is an ode to a genius! When reading I once again realized what a genius Hanyu is, something I already knew. I must admit that your article made me see some things I have previously missed in Yuzuru’s performances, it made me pay attention to and think about some details that escaped my attention though I have seen the shows multiple times. Especially with RE-PRAY that is open to so many interpretations. Thank you for that as well. I hope more people out of figure skating world will read this article and discover this very precious and special human being.

I am still overwhelmed by emotions after having witnessed Yuzu skating live at the last day of Re-Pray and it will probably take more days before everything sinks in and emotions calm down. I know for sure I will treasure this experience and I know it will keep me going when life is hard. It was an amazing day and a fabulous performance from the GOAT!! So proud of him and so grateful for his dedication to what he does!!! Hope to see more from him and hope to come back to Japan for another of his shows.

This is such a lovely video! Thank you everyone who worked hard to make it. And big thanks to everyone who submitted kind words of love, support, respect and admiration to Yuzu. I hope he sees it and even if he doesn't I think our love will reach him as it always does.

This is my gut feeling as well. I don’t follow any Japanese media and don’t know much details, but from what I read here and a couple of other Yuzu friendly sources, media attacks became extremely outrageous in the last months and were organized around specific dates. Also I bet the harassment intensified soon after Gift success. This is just a guess and if it is so, then it would only verify the theory of something bigger being behind this.

I wish the situation could be changed, but I am very skeptical. I mean there are so many famous people suffering from media attacks for years and it seems it is getting even worse. I’m not saying nothing should be done and this topic should definitely be discussed, but I’m a little bit concerned that if the media attack aimed at Yuzuru and his wife is organized and paid by a powerful organization it may do more harm if additional attention is given to this topic. Someone may get really annoyed. Also maybe Yuzu wants it to be left in peace. I really don’t know…

I suppose this petition hasn’t been started by a member of this forum, but does anyone know what the goal is? I mean what will happen with the results, will it be submitted to Japanese authorities or some other kind of organization?

One day later and I’m still not able to process this news. I’m not sure I’m able to find the right words to express how i feel. I’m filled with emotions of anger and disgust with the people and the media outlets who have turned the lives of Yuzuru, his wife and their families into hell. I’m also heartbroken to learn that their happiness has been so short. Why does he have to pay such a high price for a bit of happiness? Why isn’t he entitled to a private life? Why isn’t he left alone? Questions no-one can answer… I’m literally sick to my stomach and can’t even imagine what it’s been like for them to be hunted, stalked and abused. Yuzuru deserves all the happiness in the world for what he’s done for the country, its people, for hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, for the sport. He deserves happiness simply because he’s such a wonderful human being. I’m sorry for this emotional post, but I’m just unable to think clear right now. I’m very concerned about their mental health as well. First he was forced out of competitive skating, then they ruined his marriage, what’s next – will they only stop when they force him to stop skating at all? I feel helpless, there is nothing I can do, I’m not even able to find comforting words to say to Yuzu. One thing is certain, I can only join the message of Italian fan group and say that I confirm my unconditional support and affection and hope to finally see Yuzu happy.
