  1. Poll time! as for yesterday's poll: I couldn't get my "don't want to watch this" to semifinals (as expected sigh) but at least Zuzu falling on his face made it! LOL for a hot moment it was losing but then people saw the light If you haven't seen @ jinx_3A 's art of that very cute and hilarious and iconic moment 4CC had possilby the best Mens' SP of the whole quad in terms of both programs and clean skates (well, at least in last two groups) and Zuzu updated his SP WR (underscored like H&L WR, but still...) It was also the last comp pre-pandemic cancellation, and happenend with the big shadow of a then-still-epidemy hanging over the event. Many chinese fans who ahd bought tickets chose not to travel, and posted "empty seats full of love". It was so moving, because yes, it's friggin hard to give up on an event you've been looking forward for long, spent so much energy and also money for, just for Universe to happen and turn your whole world upside down The fans who went made sure to cheer extra hard and made a great pooh rain happen. Maybe because of the covid shadow all those 4CC20 moments are even more precious. Team China and Wenjing's call in support of Wuhan, Yuzuru's speech, too, in the interview right after the fs, a reminder of what was happening. Hope and Legacy in the gala, tying in to both PyeongChang memories and everything else And then the entertaining finale, and the chaos, the cute moments with TCC bros, and the koala (sigh, 4CC21 was supposed to be in Australia), Zuzu fresh of brand new 4CC gold and slam and then his undignified tripping while taking the usual medallists pics I kind of think he looks the most beautiful in his natural habitat on the ice, skating. I mean, there's a reason why his photobooks from his competitions, practices and iceshows sell like hot cakes But Team China really got an amazing photoshoots, sometimes even still incorporating some elements of FS (there's a pic where Cong is holding Wenjing up and she has such gorgeous lines) so maybe that kind of work would be able to compare to pics taken "in the wild"
  2. daily polls!!!!!!!!! and WAIT how are we already at this stage? it's going so fast, I'm not ready for the final in a few days also, I absolutely don't wanna beg for votes sway the polls BUT why don't want to watch this always getting so little love sigh tho ok, Zuzu's perennial forest joke is iconic also, 4CC20 is BY FAR the superior comp compared to Saitama19, and Zuzu falling on his face is more chaotic that Brian swearing in K&C (because he was forgetting Jason had to skate), so you have not 1 but TWO excellent reasons to vote for 4CC20 Yuzu moment! BELATED HAPPY BB ROMEO IN NICE2012 DAY! I can't remember if this fancam of the very last few secs was posted, but anywya great to watch, the arena was so loud and literally exploded for yuzu! He wans't really much reknown then, and that was the genuine love for a crowd he utterly bewitched (don't mind the misspell in the title) (also, whoa that ending 3S was big! at least as big as my sighs when 4S is being a drama queen tho I must say, in Beijing it wasn't really Salchow fault (skating gods instead...darn them all!) and now, HAPPY HOPE AND LEGACY IN HELSINKI2017 DAY!!!!!!!! here's the vid that very recently (like yesterday, I think) reached 2millions views! Sad that the BESP upoload with over 4millions that got deleted years ago sob, still one of the most iconic commentaries ever (gonna pretend that no BEsp commentary happened in this past quad) I'd be thankful for all the events! Lately I actually enjoy watching ID and Pairs more than singles, the perks of having emotional attachment to fewer of the competitors, less chances to take the scoring as a personal slight so cute! and the baby looks so serious! Maybe the vivid red or maybe the soft voice, but he looks so enthralled! I can say the bb ha great taste so early on!
  3. I really can't imagine HYK without the pink jellyfish/cherry blossom fairy costume. I guess it would have vibes closer to Kurimemo or maybe Final Time Traveller.. but the pink really drives it home the whole concept of "spring" and all the imagery of cherry blossom, so I'm glad that Satomi wnet for it and that Yuzuru didn't shy away from wearing the color (that suits him soooo well, HYK pics really be competing with Swanyu for most gorgeous and otherwordly... also, THE SLEEVES! I'm so fascinated with those sleeves, I want to touch the material so bad to see if they are so soft and smooth and light as they look I think mostly it has to do with the fact these past seasons he's always been injured/recovering in spring, so he probably couldn't commit to it till he actually knew he was going to be in decent enough form. idk how things worked in spring 2016, when he skipped all shows for the first time, and I cna't remember when his partecipation was announced in 2017, which would be the last time he was uninjured. Last season there was the whole covid uncertainty. In 2018 and 2019 he was recovering, and he actually skated while in the process of recovering his triples still. I don't remember if, when he was announced the latest (like a few weeks before it started), it was also the same season he had actually re-sprained his ankle doing with quints on harness, which may be a reason why a planned announcement was further stalled till almost literal last minute... Daily most cursed iconic Yuzu moments polls!!! earphone fanboy isn't doing well but it's agaisnt the demonic lipsyncing LOL so I guess stilll somehow connected to Yuzuru's lov efor music somehow XD I would definitely tell him to travel and soak in nature, as you said too. It's not like he doesn't like it, he seems to appreciate nature, to take pride in Sendai beign famous for its trees and he seems the type of person who really can find beauty in small things and small moments, like when he talked about the sky (clouds?) reflected in puddles in the street. So I'm guessing that the main reasons why he doens't spend more time going around are: he's otherwise very busy, potentially triggering asthma, overhelming popularity. There are sceneries that I'm sure would inspire him, things that you need not only to watch (like you can do on the internet) but actually live through being there, feeling the wind, the sun, the heat or the cold, the sounds, the smells. Like a sunset on the mountains, or a walk in the woods, away from city noises... Then, maybe I'd tell Yuzuru to learn more and watch more e.g. theatre and dance, music, and he should absolutely go to live concerts (covid go away!). Hey, I can dream about him touring Italy, visiting all major attractions, and go to a concert in Verona Arena and hey, he could also even skate there! It's a more suggestive setting than your usual rink, with the starry sky above. Zuzu, if there will be iceshows in Verona in the future, do come! (I mean, most of this faves and Shizuka went there several times, why can't I have a Yuzu once?) Idk how ample is his music knowledge is, iirc for example he didn't know much about some singers before Jeff submitted him certain pieces for his SP. Iirc even with ToshI, he listened to his songs more purposedly when he had to pick a collab piece. Or for example does he know composers like e.g. Schönberg, Shostakovich? As for theatre, his talk with Mansai really inspired him a lot and I guess he's familiar with Noh Kyogen theatre (ETA:sorry, I had mixed them up), he watched POTO musical and also iirc cited Takarazuka some time. But there are so many works out there, from different countries and times, and I feel like, with his sensitivity and analytical skills, he would be able to grasp how performance arts can express at once a moment in time and universal feelings, a particular culture and worldview and also artists' own individuality. Also, even just simply go around, meet new people, talk to them. We know he isn't shy when he asking questions about jumps technique, so I can see him doing the same about different subjects too As I said, he doesn't lack sensitivity, analytical skill and curiosity. Even with the relatively "sheltered life" he's been living ---- not in terms of life experiences in general of course, because he's really gone through a lot, but, for example, the not going around in Toronto, the mostly staying at home in Japan, or missing many things boys his age did but he didn't because he had to (chose to) skate instead ----- Yuzuru has really been able to grown so much, broaden his views and hone his tools for expression. While he can be entirely hyprfixated on certain things and happily forgive everything else around him, he also seem to also have the need to "reach out" to others, to communicate, understand and be understood. Also, he may not love learning english that much, he also really worked hard to improve on it, and even mentioned of wanting to learn more languages (russian iirc) because language, too, can help cross bridges through people and open new horizons. I also remember him being very interested in e.g. bioethics, so I guess that he might also find lots of food for thoughts digging a bit in linguistics and sociology to learn how things like environmemnt, culture, language are all interconnected and can play a role in how individuals and societies express themselves. Finally, this not really for Yuzu, but more for myself (tho could still be a different way for him to enjoy nature and skating at once): PLEASE Yuzuru, consider finding a frozen pond or something on a clear and nice winter day and skate there (and please film yourself, thank you!) ETA: ohhhh I didn't know about this! It looks so interesting! A bit like virtual travelling but you travel in people's life, and most important you can actually have a real back and forth. Assuming language isn't a barrier, I can see how it's a chance to challenge oneself and open up to people different and far (geographically and in life experiences) from oneself
  4. ugly midnight bawling because of Shae-Lynn's interview the good kind of bawling thankfully, tho Beijing will always bring mixed feelings and a (big) part of bitterness and heartbreak. thank you @birnasan for bringing the interview, the translation really does look pretty good (prely form a "what I can understand form it POV of course, i cna't really say anyhting about accuracy), tho I'm sure fantranslators will be working on it in the following days I'm so moved by Shae's word, and by how she talks about her work with Yuzuru and the way they collaborate. Also, how she fully supports his choices! As we know, not many have understood what Yuzu was goign for and why, so it's always good to know that people close to him were "in his corner". Truly, the latest interviews by Jeff, Ghislain and now Shae... I'm so thankful Yuzuru could meet such people and not only build a long and productive professional relationship with them (that gave him many achievements and us so many great, iconic, mindblowing programs), but also build a deeper personal connection based on understanding and respect and kindness, too. Also interesting to know a little bit of the behind the scene choreo work this past season, I thought Yuzuru had only been exchanging vids, !but apparently he got some live sessions with Shae! Also, whoa so Rondo was still in the making in early October well, maybe not surprising, since he had Kyozuka do a brand new arrangement for him. Really so much work went into Rondo, I'm always moved by Yuzuru's utter dedication to his programs... Then, Shae's words about Yuzuru's skating, his lack of pretense... it reminds me of that famous post-PC press con about his skating being "truth". The feel of "sincerity" is something that I really associate with Yuzuru's skating, and a big reason why I find it so mesmerizing and able to have me in a spell, no matter what he's skating to. He pulls you in his world and make you look into his soul and, translating feelings into movements on the ice, he reaches out to you and allows you to look into your own soul too, I also appreciate that Shae-Lynn noted this. It's nice that someone can spell out how Yuzuru bringing in new fans is a good thing for the sport as a whole (and also, ho Yuzu was and still is a good thing for the sport as a whole). Now, if only ISU and JSF could just stop wasting the incredible luck they got... do you mean the PyeongChang practice fanvid? I feel like Masquerade is pretty intense as a piece on its own, for the undelying grief and anger in it, and it drained Yuzuru emotionally a lot perform to it, you rarely even see him that exhausted after his multiquad programs anymore. But I would love to see him skating to Muse for real, even if it were the overused Exogenesis (overused in FS, as a Muse song). If a fanvid where he wasn't even actually skating to music can be so breathtaking, how would a real program look? Also would love for him to skate to Queen once (I remember when we wondered which LMEY we were getting LOL). I guess The show must go on lends itself quite well to a fs program (has been used quite a lot I think in FS Queen madleys too) daily iconic yuzumoments polls! It looks like the most chaotic moments are also the most beloved (baldzuru aside, I guess)...BUT WHY IS "DON'T WANT TO WATCH THIS" LOSING AGAIN? I'm also mourning the loss of the NHK crown moment, but twirling Swanyu with golden streamers was such a strong opponent, I'm just sad that they had to meet this elary in the polls... draws can be so cruel
  5. for @LAY and any other satellite who has bought/would like to buy Aoi Honoo but doesn't know Japanese: you can get an english fanmade integral translation, if you provide proof of purchase! The procedure is very easy, just click on the links below and follow the instructions it' very easy, you just need to send an email and a pic of your books (I added a post-it with my name, for example) Aoi Hono I the translator, @ nonchan1023 on tumblr, has translated and subbed several of the earliest Yuzu vids and interviews Aoi Hono II the translator in on twitter (@ tsukihoshi14), has been doing many translations and subs both alone and as part of the Axelwithwings team daily poll! I still haven't voted in 2 out of 4 polls in this round cuz I'm so TORN
  6. when even corssovers are gif-worthy my struggle with Rondo is: how can I gif it? How do I choose what to gif, where to cut, what to leave out? It feels cruel to cut and separate one part from the other I have this struggle with several Yuzu programs, I'd love to gif the details to highligh them, but at the same time the details shine the most when played together with the "whole" thing. And in Rondo that's even more true. also try watching it with sound off, so you can focus solely on the choreo without being "influenced" by the music I did that afterthe the music had already buned itself in my memory, so I watched while singing silly chaotic tunes to myself to make myself "forget" the music LOL I was literallt like this which was actually required more effort to focus than just watching a muted program, and yet it was still so GOOD gosh really Yuzu, Jeff and Shae-Lynn really outdid themselves. I wish I had been more than a casual fan back then, I would have tuned in for WC and I'm 100% positive I owuld have felt in love with Yuzuru's skating bacj then already RJ1's passion and fire was what definitely sealed the deal for me, after PW had had blown me away and made me curious to watch more I love the rinks with natural light. The usual ones give me a bit of claustrophobic feeling tbh, no matter how big the arena, and also "look" cold, but those with natural light pouring in? They look so comfy and warm and gorgeous. If i could chose where to skate myself, such rinks would be where I'd love to go. The practice rink in Nice, the rink in Oberstdorf where Nebelhorn is held and that witnessed the interantional debut of Etude, RJ1 and the first backcounter3A And then of course TCC rink is so beautiful too. Fun fact: whenever I watch Etude, after 3A and camel spin I go "ahh and here comes the gorgeous stsq", and then I remember than NOPE, the stsq starts only after the combo Really kudos to Nanami and russian coaches/choreographers who collaborated on the choreo, the program is beautifully choesive As practice rinks, I also loved how suggestive the one in Helsinki looked, a journalists nicknamed it "the Cave". Not to be confused with Yuzuru's cave LMAO tho I bet he loved it, must have had peculiar acustics. Here the article about that rink https://www.insideskating.net/2017/05/10/features/thecave-my-ode-to-practice-rinks and below H&L runthrough in The Cave beautiful opening 4Lo and the combo of doom in its "beauty" version, but then he popped the 4T and kinda YOLOed the rest ETA: I'm losing it at this part of the article I linked... Salchow, it's always the Salchow to end, daily reminder to cast your vote in this poll. Even if it's a poll of Yuzuru's chaotic moments, some of the vote gaps still make me sad and here's why you should vote "falling off the yoga ball"
  7. on the ranting/negativity, I encourage everyone to stick to Yuzuru stuff in this thread, and to also make use of the Salt Mines and of the spoiler + the ignore option. And before I take my own advice, OT welcome new satellites and uhhh sorry for the latest turn of the discussion, hope you find what you seek here remember to curate your own experience! also, this poll was already shared but I'm bringing it again to beg you to show some love to choo choo train that is up against a very tough opponent, like at least give them some votes the enormity of gap is hurting me (I'm part of the gap sob) you can find the choo choo in question below, around 6:05 mark. Yuzu solo part was self choreo (of course and it looked like he was going at 2x speed gotta say that his BlindingLights self choreo is a huge improvement) Trashbag pants lovers, I summon thee!
  8. I too felt regret for being too late when joined the fandom... It was early 2017 so of course it might sound ancient now, but back then everyone was kinda sure he'd leave after PC, he had given no sign of wanting to stick around longer than that (probably he himself didn't know either😅). Never in my wildest dream I would have thought I'd have a whole quad. It was kinda of a terrible quad from many POVs, both for the scoring disaster and for the world as a whole, and it was darn tough for Yuzuru, both physically and mentally. So many struggles, idk how he got the strength to stick with us and fs in spite of all (his love for FS is just that big🥺). But I'm forever grateful that he did Idk how Yuzuru wants to go on from now on (and how his body is doing), I do hope that bb fanyus will be able to enjoy his skating for long and maybe have the chance to watch him live one day too, like I managed, after despairing of ever being able to do that Here to remind you that it's the final of the Yuzu moments bracket!!! (Nooo PC lift and kittens 💔) To admins, what about doing some polls again in the planet too? It's been a while since we had the "top3 fave program, fave costume... " and also poll on planet demographics. We were discussing this in the salt thread a while ago xD (The good thing about PH pills is that you can do more than 4options at a time😆) Since there are both new fans and new programs/costumes, could be fun to redo all those old polls! Maybe we could also launch them together with the planet streams. After WC, it will be officially offseason (and basically everyone but Yuzu will be in April iceshows sigh), so we gotta self-sustain at least till we get news about Yuzuru's recovery and whether he'll attend any iceshow
  9. I feared the same, because narratives and "WRs" are a powerful thing and Oly audience usually appreciate cleanliness more than "art" or skill in itself, but the support from audience both in China and in other online spaces (and also, thankfully, from most of Jpn media) went way beyond what I expected. Yuzuru is an athelte and insanely competitive, so I'm sure Yuzuru would still have wanted "something concete" in the form of a medal to show fo his hard work, or at least to be able to truly show his best in both programs, without stupid holes and an injury, but I'm glad he at least know that his value in the eyes of people is not only in his results. I don't want him to ever ever ever wonder "why am I alive", and I want him to be truly intimately sure that what he's done in Beijing was precious to many on a more lighthearted note, go and vote for kitties and PC galal lift joking but actually not, do vote for them especially PC gala I can't believe it's losing so badly in semifinal rounds here
  10. It hadn't really registered in my brain other that feeling something was different. It's amazing. Unnecessarily, and not bringing him points or acknowledgement, but amazing. It's the kind of things he does because he challenges himself even in the "smallest" details, even when "there's no point" in doing them but his pride as a skater. I love him for his integrity and vision, wish that it earned him points or at least respect from judges and his peers... Yuzuru did say to media to please pay attention to Roncapu few crossovers and I'm sure things like the fans compiling his TR or noticing his arm on 3A landing or a variation on his spin position make him happy, but honestly when commentators (even former skaters at that) can't even tell a 3turn from a counter,or when they call telegraphed jumps "out of nowhere", what can we expect? Probably, even a coach going technical of what exactly Yuzu does would fly over the heads of judges and commies alike. I bet they didn't even notice that Yuzuru's SE into 4S in Roncapu was an outside one, instead of his "usual" inside. Bet they can't even tell what's a simple step, or their TR marks wouldn't be the clownery they are. Boitano was American and people were willing to be in awe of him (rightfully). Yuzuru, instead, was called obsessed by western media for his quest for something as HUGE as a jump never done before. I just don't see the same western media register a harder landing position by him as something worth mentioning, let alone praising. Instead they love droning on and on about empty programs and their groundbreaking "minimalism". The only time I've seen bloggers like JWrong noticing details is when N graced us with 1 new tr into one of his jumps (that would later disappear of course, while the goe and pcs boost stayed). No one had needed to point them out those "tr", because they were all part of the same pr machine that will never be on Yuzuru's side. The contrast with gymnastics truly reveals a lot on which governing body wants to improve on their scoring system and which one, instead, likes how things had been run in the previous less tech-advanced decades🙄 And it's not like FS is particularly lacking in popularity and fundings compared to gymnastics. FS is still one of the main attractions of the whole OWG, and heck, FS even "helps" keeping whole speed skating afloat too (and maybe that's an issue too, within both JSF and ISU the speed skating branch liberally uses sources earned by through fs) Also replying to @Anabel on GOE on falls Afaik (last I checked which probably was past season?) falls and some other serious mistakes (iirc edge call and DG? They actually specifically mentioned the mistakes, contrary to what they did for pcs cap) would cap the max "starting goe"(= the goe due to all the positive features) to +2. Hence, after -5 deduction for the fall, the jump can get in best case scenario -3. But you'd be hard pressed to find a jump with fall with no other mistake deserving further deduction (like a flawed landing, poor air position, poor takeoff etc), and tbh only a few jumps with falls would have enough positive attributes to even "start" from +2 (an example could be a big jump out of steps) Do satellites know of this? Go and vote if you have a twitter account! We're revisiting some Iconic Yuzu moments and the banter is all lighthearted
  11. Re: FaOI Basically the whole usual old guard is being brought back, I guess there would also be Plu if it weren't for the current war and related boycotting 😬 I expect Yuzu to be announced at some point (very late as usual). If he won't go, unless it's because he's doing a CiONTU2.0 all for himself, I'd actually be very worried over his health As it was pointed our, the only time he entirely skipped was because he literally wasn't skating. Back in 2019 ha skated while recovering from a fresh sprain, so Yuzuru being entirely MIA wouldn't be good for my peace of mind (his participation wouldn't mean he's fully recovered, given his past history, but would at least assure me he is somewhat able to be on ice) Assuming he's gonna be there, Yuzu, can you please just stick with Nobu and Jeff? also, could you please switch your faves to Jeff, whom you adore anyway and hasn't actually being bitchy to you thus far? Anyway for the lineup they still have to announce ladies aside Shizuka (were Miki and Akiko announced too? They are the traditional old guard too) and younger skaters, so there's hope for Kobe girls, Rika, Mana, Satton... (I guess hoping for Kao would be a stretch with his injury sob), Shun.... I expect P/C too, they've been invited several times. Too bad there never are Chinese skaters otherwise we could also hope in S/H and Boyang (and why not W/L). Just hoping that as Pairs they'll pick M/K and not J/R 😒 (with my superjinxing skills, I fear that's how we may end, big sigh) Anyway I just wanna see happy Yuzu basking in people's love 🥺🥺🥺 Kobe girls remind me that, with Yuzu and Nobu, we might get again the Osaka special segment, would really love that (now if only covid could go away) Iirc one of the stops this time is Nagoya? May be that they plan to invite Shoma/Yuma?(😑) YES PLEASE!!!!!! Lowkey wondering (and highkey wishing) if the ISU workgroup that is supposed to study IA for fs scoring would ever consider asking for Yuzuru's collab... I kinda of doubt, given how generally disinterested they are in his opinions about FS, also I guess that till Yuzu isn't officially retired there could be conflict of interest... but really, I doubt there's someone who could offer more first-hand knowledge than him, currently, as he would be able to offer insights both on what's needed and on how to get it. Hey, maybe he's gonna sneak in the work group through his Mishin connection
  12. Happened last year too, they obviously need to check properly before allowing normal activities to resume. If everything goes well, it should reopen in a few days🙏 hopefully everyone in the affected areas is safe and the material damages aren't too heavy.🙏🙏🙏 But with the intensity and coincidentally being so close to the 3.11 anniversary, it must have brought back to everyone in Japan and Tohoku especially some very painful memories... (And what's with this time of the year and earthquakes in Japan? Iirc in February 2021 there was one too, and Sendai ice rink was closed a few days. Then in March 2021 when Yuzuru was set to leave for WC there was another. Well I guess we can be glad that it only caused something relatively minor like 1day delay on arrival, but again must have been so tough mentally😔 and stressful too, because of the bubble timeline) I saw on twitter some Jpn fans being thankful for having their "A Notte Stellata project" emergency items (like the solar light) ready/using them. It made me smile a bit, that Yuzuru could be helpful to people even through those things
  13. heads up that you wrote Worlds 2018 instead of 2017 😆 thank you so much for collecting all the vids
  14. @Henni147 I found this WC17 H&L that is getting close to 2millions! It won't replace the BESP video that was purged sob but I'm happy to see this
  15. For TCC or no TCC: IMO working with Ghislain in place and maybe occasionally again in harness could still be helpful, but it's clear Yuzu could still reach out to get other people's opinions and got feedback on his training even as he practiced alone in Sendai, so I'm less concerned about that now. Overall, Yuzu's elements and skating were all excellent whenever he showed up for comps despite the two years of solitary training, and it looked like he was managing himself rather well mentally too for the most part (despite how hard it must have truly been all those months we didn't get to see him). When he did big mistakes in comps, it was because of things that no coach training in TCC or coach by the boards could have avoided: catching a rut on the ice, asthma attack, injury... those are all things that could have happened even if Yuzu had been able to train in Toronto (and indeed they had happened too when he trained there) Going back to TCC would mean having to share ice with others and in general more constraints (in the practices we saw, for example, he had at times to abort 4A attempts because of other skaters around). Yuzu knows himself better than any of us, hence, whatever arrangement he settles for will be the one he thinks best suits him. When travel restrictions were in place he had to make the best out of a bad situation, but if now he can have the chance to go back but doesn't, it means he thinks he can get what he needs for what he wants to achieve without uprooting himself to Canada again. I just want him to do all his physiotherapy properly, contrary to what he had to do during the worst of covid in Japan Ngl, TCC coaches&co silence during Beijing was a bit puzzling, but it might as well be that Yuzu himself didn't wish for public displays just like he preferred not to have coaches with him rinkside. After all, communication doesn'thappen only on social,* especially when it comes to Yuzuru *(tho certainly some people linked to TCC could improve on how they use theirs) And Jeff's interview sounds great Given recent events, that's not a given, so I'm thankful. I really love Jeff and his choreo and hope to see more collabs with Yuzu in the future because the two of then working together really are something special Anyway, I'm glad Yuzu enjoyed all those gala practices in Beijing, and having fun and lighthearted moments with other skaters. He hadn't really been able to do that at JNats, and probably he was even more relaxed in Beijing practices&gala than back in DOI&SOI2021 (painkillers notwithstanding) I wish him steady recover and rest for his ankle and also for him to be able to skate without pain AND without painkillers as soon as possible, because skating gives him so much joy and I want him to be able to experience that joy as much as he wants
  16. coming back to PH and finding the salt mines LOL what have I missed? (no need to fill me in, saw it started with the JF thing that I followed on another platform. Gotta say that I love the subtitle tho LMAO) anyway, just yesterday I had updated the Glossary Nessie entry with JNats21 & OWG and now that the harness 4A dropped I gotta edit again LOL I also wanted to ask: does anyone remember in which video or interview bb Yuzu first mentioned he dreamed of landing 4A or when he first said Axel was the king of the jumps? I know he mentioned that again in his most recent interview about unrewarded efforts (that I wanna link too) SAME! I have a huge soft spot for TEB NDP, and always wanted to see more mature Yuzu with upgraded skills try that one again Yuzuru partially realized my wish, now tho I wanna see the whole thing in his CiONTU 2 - Around the World tour (which sadly may stay a dream only, but surely a CiONTU 2 in Japan woudl be feasible at some point, right?) I must say that I like the slight change of timing for the 3A into camel(instead of sit) spin in the OWG22 practice version. Not sure if it was meant or, after all, he didn't exactly remember all the choreo to the beat XD I remember the episode of his spraining the ankle because of a quint... in FaOI19 we saw him slowly get back his jumps like the previous year and we thought he was still recovering from his RC18 injury, instead it was another injury because he had been entertaining himself with harness and 4A and quints Just Yuzu things I guess welcome! sadly I've never seen/don't remember such a compilation either but if somehow it exists and someone finds it, can they please hit me up so I link it in the Glossary? 👀 no cuz the glossary is also my personal map to Yuzu content so I try to add these quirker things too LOL finally, belated happy PyeongChang Swanyu anniversary dear satellites. I hope you &your loved ones are all safe and sound ETA: the man holding the harness is Geoff Dionisio, who is the pole harness specialist in TCC Here an old pic with him, Yuzu and Alysa Liu https://www.instagram.com/p/BxDbpQEHDc6/ ETA2: WAIT when did we get more satellites than pages in this thread? but hey I'm happy welcome new satellites even if you lurk that's fine but you're also welcomed to chime in and chat and I hope you're having fun catching up with all the content!
  17. @yuzuangel could you perchance change my username too? 😆 ---> EisElle I checked and should be free. I would have liked just Elle but it's taken already and I still wanna a pretty alliteration
  18. Welcome! As for your question, my reply is gonna be similar to what others already said. under spoiler because for some could be sad Now, personally I'm among those persuaded that, ankle allowing, he'll still want to try Nessie again. Possibly WC is out of question because his injury gonna take time again, but at some point. If I'm wrong, well, ngl, I'd be sad because he has come so friggin close to getting it, and in those crazy circumstances. Yuzuru freely choosing to let his 4A dream go would really mean that training it made him truly and utterly miserable, and I refuse to be in a timeline where he's dedicated so much only to stop just shy of a ratified 4A. So what I hope to see in this press conference is a Yuzu who won't sound as spent and kind of resigned as he (understandbly) was right after that FS. I hope he will acknowledge that his fight there in Beijing was not in vain. this is actually a brilliant summary
  19. Is the link from a images host like imgur? Maybe try add .jpeg (or other image file format), then it should embed the pic Eta: re the bid for 2030, I'd be happy because it would almost certainly mean Yuzu would be involved (maybe finally going back to the recovery theme, as it was intended for 2020 OG), but would Jpn population really support such a bid so soon? After all the expenses for Tokyo olys and everything that went wrong with it (and IOC)?
  20. The happiest new year, dear satellites may 2022 be kind to you and full of happy things for you and your loved ones (hadn't noticed the new yuzupooh yuzumoticons, so cute, thank you staff) to Yuzuru, may this year bring you everything you want! may you turn the 4Adream you've been working for into the best reality, may you be healthy&safe and grasp happiness with both hands
  21. Merry christmas to the satellites who celebrate it and happy holidays everyone, and happy days to those who are not on holidays hugs and take care of yourselves! I've already reatched Yuzuru's roncapu twice since I woke up and Yuzu survived another practice, that's great! I hope he takes care of himself too and he gets to be happy these days and many more. We only see a glimpse of how hard the road to 4A is, so I can just wish him luck, perseverance and good health, and to always be able to find light&hope to move forward.
  22. I feel called out😅😆 It feels oddly quiet everywhere...
  23. using the last few minutes of December 7th in my part of the world to send a big hug and thank you to all satellites and fanyus for always making this day special and bright, no matter everything else And once more, happy 27th birthday Yuzu! may this new year of yours be a joyous one for you, and may you make all your dreams come true, one by one @Henni147
