Yuzu on TV in a Mikiko interview: https://x.com/marika_yuzu/status/1834268918384623773 https://x.com/marika_yuzu/status/1834268918384623773

If my memory is not misleading, he did jump it in the Estopolis video on his chanel (I think that was the one in the Megalovania costume). It's been a while and my memory is not the best, maybe I should go check.

Oh wow, I cannot believe it! It's been 2 years! Honestly, I still remember myself crying for a week 2 years ago, desperatly thinking I will not have the chance to see him skate again. Boy, I'm so so happy to have been so wrong. Happy 2nd anniversay, Yuzu! To many many many more! And happy freedom day for all his fans! Now, for top 3 Yuzu moments this past year. Quite a hard choice, but here it goes: 3. It's a tie between *2* gorgeous programs, I really cannot decide: Danny Boy & Megalovania. Danny Boy: what a skate! What feelings! The incredible flow, the precision of stopping after a jump, the most beautiful Ina Bauer, the backhanded spin, the superb one leg pivot! And the wonderful surprise that he added it as a *2nd* program at FaOI after so many years of skating just one program. Megalovania: the sound of Yuzu's skates on ice, in pure silence, is an experience that cannot be duplicated. It really gave me goose bumps. The structure and the speed of that program, truly something that only Yuzu can do. 2. The *2nd* day of NS, Saturday noon. First time in almost 5 years to be able to attend his practice. Oh, what a surprise that was! Is it nostalgia, maybe? 1. The *2nd* day of RE_PRAY Yokohama, the first time of clean Messenger of Destruction. It felt like over the tour, we could see him evolving and perfecting the program. That first time he gets the program clean has always been special and thrilling. And I couldn't be happier for him. His hard work since Saga paid off and I hope he was satisfied with finding this new way of training to move forward. Special mention: meeting everyone again, having our get togethers, exchanging gifts, filming our little encouragement videos for Yuzu, making new friends, all thanks to him! 🎁

The descriptions I saw about the projections on the ice are superb. Cherry blossom traces for HYK, wave ripples for Final Fantasy 😍

I commend them for voting LGC. Not sure if I would have been able to choose between LGC and Etude, but to see that program now, after 5 years, on that big rink, it would have been a dream.

Apparently, this is the music for new program? Not sure, taken from twt. https://video.h5.weibo.cn/1034:4832145999593589/4832147124786282

I wonder how many axels there will be today. I say 15. Anyone wants to give more?

I never thought I could feel this level of envy for the people there (in all the good sense, like I wish so bad I could join). Please enjoy if you are there and cheer for Yuzu with all your heart!

What wouldn't I give to be there and see it live!

How could we not love him, when he makes so much effort for us. I am so grateful for everything he's offering.

Oh my God, Lia! As a fellow Romanian, I'm so happy for your question being shown. I didn't even know there are so many fanyus here, as I haven't met with one from Romania personally. 🤗

Celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Planet Hanyu!
vd_turnan replied to Yuzu_legend's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
When did you become a fan of Yuzu? WC 2012. Etude costume was the one that got my attention. When and why did you sign up for Planet Hanyu? 2019. I was lurking for a while at that time and finally mustered the courage to write something, especially comments during competitions. Did you make any irl friends through Planet Hanyu? Yes Have you participated in any group projects on Planet Hanyu? Yes Did you attend any meetups with other satellites at competitions? Yes. I have to say that exchanging gifts at a competition and preparing surprises together for Yuzu is truly something special (for those of you who haven't done it yet, it's a must) What do you like the most about this forum? The comments during competitions, the links and resources provided, the good organization and the fact that people are unapollogetically Yuzu fans. There's never too much gushing over him here. Would you like to participate in the giveaway? Yes, of course. I would also love to win something, the giveaways are really beautiful. Happy anniversary PH! -
The only way things can possibly change is to catch judges being corrupt in the act. Or to completely get rid of them. Judges were always corrupt and everyone knows, including ISU and IOC. It's only when it gets out with proof that they make some changes (nothing too big, enough to satisfy the masses for a while and at the same time allow them to go on with making the arrangements they need). Or maybe have judges grow a counsciousness 😂. I'm afraid for pressure for fair scoring to work, ISU would need to first care about this issue. Pressure from fans cannot compete with pressure from the federations that pay good money.

love the new theme! gold feathers go well with Yuzu ... and the banners... as a reminder of his wonderful journey!... may it long continue!

That's because of the organizers big egos. They want to show off to the world. Maybe we can finally go back to having the Olympics be a celebration of sports, and not an event where nations brag to each other and politic/buy the number of medals they win. And maybe they can finally discover a way of reusing the facilities they build for the Olympics and not abandon them immediately after. They need money for that also, but not that much and long term they could get some more back (besides the revenues from tickets, TV right and tourism).
-
Why do you think it's the end? The Olympics was also cancelled during the war and then restarted. People will need something to celebrate when this virus is under control (if not possible in a couple of years, I would imagine in 10 years we might reach some degree of immunization). Of course, that means the current senior skaters might have no chance at the Olys, but there will be others. OTOH, not seeing Yuzu at any competition again will be tragic.

You mean cry of happiness at seeing Yuzu today, I hope? I'm sure it will be an awesome event! With Yuzu and people who love him, it always is!
