  1. Well, the most Yuzu thing I have ever done is crossrolls - backward and forward Gosh, they are difficult! Also, when I still competed in ballroom dancing (15 years ago... Geez) there was once a section on the dancefloor which was really slippery and I fell on it - twice! - during one dance (so embarrassing!). But when I was still a kid the dance teachers rammed it in our heads: whatever happens during the dance, just go on with a poker face as if nothing had happened. And so at that competition I did just that and was rewarded with points by the judges (of course, unlike in FS it didn't hurt falling, and the competition was just a local one for adult amateurs)
  2. Lol. I dare ISU to also say out loud that Yuzu is king
  3. All-event is out of my price range, I'm hoping to get single tickets for the days of Men's SP and FS, and no gala if they are planning this circus again
  4. He said "I do! It was Tatyana Tarasova. And in his interviews he spoke about it many times and thanked" And then she said that she just came across this music and thought who to give it to, and of course it should be Yuzu, because who else could bring it to life so well? And sometime later the other commentator asked "So, this is 'Dying Swan'?" and she answered 'Well, you hear the music'. So, considering her words about that music, her standarts regarding it, I think it means a lot that she gave this particular music to Yuzu. When TAT starts gushing about Yuzu, I wish she could have 20 minutes uninterrupted time to just say all she wants to say. I'd love lo listen to that. Apart from all the usual 'amazing' and 'genius' she would often have some interesting remarks from the pov of coach, e.g. that remark about his relaxed upper body and explosion jumps, and conserving energy during his skate, which she gave during GPF FS
  5. No, she specifically said Chopin. After all, she said about it at the beginning of its second season "I haven't had enough of it". And I'm sure she's seen 4CC Chopin too, her mentioning it wasn't accidental. And her giving Yuzu Swan music after what she said about Plisetskaya just gives it a new meaning. She loved NS, too. I remember how she said proudly during the Pyeoungchan ex: "And you know who gave him this music?" (Judging by the reaction of the other commentator, it wasn't even the first time she mentioned that )
  6. I started to use skype for the same purpose, it works just fine and it's free without time restrictions
  7. If it's considered a force majeure, there may be no refund. (But I'm not a lawyer)
  8. Well, if I were a skater like Nathan I would be scratching my head now. If for the greatest part of my programs I skate around the rink at high speed and jump, what do I do on this tiny ice section where I can hardly gain enough speed for a jump? And what do I fill my ex with? The task is much easier for Eteri girls with their great amount of transitions and little ice coverage. And the athletes at a loss most of all are probably pairs. What can they do in their ex? Spins?
  9. Judging by the size of the ice allocated for skaters' exes, it will be figure 8 or maybe spread eagle. I will gladly watch it, too. Come to think if it, I will gladly watch it from all medallists, for comparison.
  10. Yeah, I'm wondering if they will postpone or cancel the WC, considering the circumstances. And the shows can be cancelled as well...
  11. I don't think it will influence the results. Fans may change their attitude, but the judges will be practical. The Eteri girls have the highest chances to podium at EC and WC, so they will remain favourites. And I will not be surprised, if TAT commentates on the ladies' event, if she then praises the trio to heaven. She is outspoken and opinionated, but a job is a job. And Yags will follow her lead.
  12. Yeah, I was hoping for COR until the last moment. Well, here's to GPF tickets having reasonable prices (yes, I'm still hoping)
  13. While Shoma may benefit from training alongside a strong rival, I don't see how that is possible. Raf is not exactly good at creating healthy competitive atmosphere *cough* Eunsoo and Maria *cough* and Brian may not want a repeat (he said the rivalry had worked out for Javi and Yuzu, but he wouldn't recommend it to anybody else), and I'm not sure there is much Shoma can learn from Vincent. Samarin?
  14. Oh, it's beautiful! Toshi is amazing
  15. I remember Brian once said that Yuzu loves to be first - that is, to be the first to do things. 4A is his dream, the only dream not yet fulfilled, so of course he will chase it. But there is one more thing I keep thinking about: there are a bunch of people jumping the quad lutz (even girls) and a couple of people jumping the quad flip. By adding the quad lutz and the quad flip Yuzu will surely up his TES, but in judges' minds he will still be catching up - a good reason to say "isn't it time to make room for younger athletes, as you've had your share of victories?" But if he jumps the 4A, he will be in a category of his own again, with others catching up, and that will change the way the judges are looking at him. And with it, I think, he will have greater chances at that third OGM, if he decides to pursue it.
  16. Seems like it. And it would probably be a good thing, sad as it sounds for us fans, if Yuzu would properly take the time to heal (can Yuzu and properly taking the time to heal even be used in one sentence?)
  17. I keep remembering Pluschenko's words in some interview about Yuzu: you don't understand, he said, there is nobody more hungry for medals as a top athlete, a champion. His words seemed a bit strange to me then, but as I look at Yuzu, or Daisuke, or Brian Joubert and many others who stay and who return, I think there is a lot of truth to it. So I will just wish Yuzu (and I'm speaking it into existence), that when he retires, he will do it on his own terms, like Javi, and will be if not happy about it, then at least content.
  18. Well, as we've veered into reasons to love Yuzu ))) As a dancer, I am every time entranced by how Yuzu accentuates certain parts, how he accelerates and slows down, his lines, strong or soft when needed, the way he expresses emotion through movement and expresses the music, fills the pauses, fills up and owns the space around him, the effortlessness of his moves - they all speak of an amazing level of mastery. I don't know much about FS technique - only what I've learned from some explanatory videos and texts, but I can see and appreciate what he does from the point of view of a dancer. As for Nathan, he does not do anything special from the point if view of a dancer. It's not that he is not capable, it's hard to say, really - I think he just doesn't bother , he has other priorities. He has a pleasant manner of a young good-natured guy (certainly more pleasant than Vincent, who is somewhat tense and awkward), and he largerly relies on that for good impression. Which is why in galas at least for me his skating is not interesting to watch (and not only his).
  19. We'll be sending our positive energy and well-wishes to you! Let everything go very well!
  20. Everybody is saying 6 quads, but don't the new rules say 4 different quads max in FS plus one can be repeated in combo so 5 in total? Or am I mistaken?
  21. They say so, yet Yuzu won a few competitions with the SP. The Sochi Olympics for example, or GPF 2016 (which just serves to prove that he is not like others )
  22. My only experience with TSL was their talk about underrotations and prerotations (don't remember details, sorry). I got to the point where the guy they interviewed said that rewatching jump takeoffs for prerotations would ruin the spirit of the sport, with the hosts nodding in agreement, and I switched it off. I mean, sure, videos of questionable offsides in soccer, snapshots of the ball on the line in tennis, photofinish in running competitions - abolish them all, cause that would ruin the spirit
