I really love Origin 2.0, too. Even more than Origin 1.0, which means a lot @vd_turnan I think, the lifetime achievement award will go to Dick Button. His contribution to the development of competitive skating was enormous, he invented and innovated many things and... he is American. Plus: Button is 90 years old, ISU has to hurry with an award. It would be somehow iconic, if Yuzu received the award for the most valuable skater (present) and Button the lifetime achievement award (past). The only two multiple Olympic champions in men's singles, who are still alive.

My very personal standpoint is: I don't do anything to others, what I don't like myself. Independent from age, gender, nationality, religion or culture. If I do, I can't complain about backfiring. Yuzu initiated the singing for Javi and David and visibly enjoyed it. So he can't say anything, if Javi or David or anybody sings for him in public next time. However, I understand and respect your point of view as well. We as fans should be supportive and smart at the same time and it's good to talk about such things, before they end in a fiasco.

Imagine ISU tweeting about Yuzu's BDay. What a shocker that would be
-
Well, Yuzu encouraged the whole CWW audience to sing Happy Birthday for Javi in a public broadcast. I don't think that he asked Javi for permission before the show. So yeah... that much about Yuzu, birthdays and private decisions

I think, Yuzu knows very well that the "sighs" had absolutely nothing to with him. If the crowd had been disappointed by his performance, they wouldn't have clapped and screamed and cheered so enthusiastically both during the skate and after the ending pose. The temperature in the arena dropped noticeably, when the scores came out. However, Yuzu couldn't say to the press: "Don't worry. My fans love me. They were just pissed off with Doug W. and my low score." Footnote: I'm really curious how the press would have reacted to this answer, though... I wouldn't be too worried about this stupid interview question.

Wooooow!!! Yuzu truly broke the "I can't win, when Gabi and Cizo win"-curse!!! And this curse was crazier than any other previous curse. Look at this!!! Here is a list of ALL competitions that Yuzu, Gabi and Cizo attended together at senior level: Competition Placement: Yuzuru Hanyu Placement: Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron Worlds 2014 1. 13. Cup of China 2014 2. 1. GPF 2014 1. 3. Worlds 2015 2. 1. Worlds 2016 2. 1. NHK 2016 1. 2. GPF 2016 1. 2. Worlds 2017 1. 2. Olympics 2018 1. 2. Worlds 2019 2. 1. NHK 2019 1. 1. I did not list competitions, where one of them had to withdraw. In that case the list would be even longer. It's mindblowing. Never noticed this before.

Thank you! Yes, super mission #3 NHK 2019 should be in there, too If Yuzu decides to do some other spontaneous layout changes in the future, I will definitely edit a "YOLO jumps - part II" clip. You have my word. EDIT: Sometimes I really do believe that Yuzu is lurking here on the planet. On 8th April I had a dream and posted a detailed description of it here in the general chat. In this dream Yuzu was skating: If this dream becomes reality in the future, I will probably faint...

Yes, I think it was very hard for all four of them in different ways. Yuzu was regretful for the forced Lutz attempt, Ghislain for not talking him out of it and Brian and Tracy for not being there. This injury probably brought them closer together than anything before. Yuzu said that he thought of the positive NHK memories (first quad and 300 point barrier) in the first place, but I'm sure, this competition brought up all the sad memories and fear as well... I'm very happy that Yuzu could exorcize all the demons from the past this weekend and qualify for GPF with two healthy ankles PS: I had to laugh, when I checked my YouTube account today: The view number of Yuzu's YOLO jump compilation suddenly increased by 3000 over night and I wonder why...
-
I think, this victory at NHK is a really really wonderful birthday present for Ghislain. I remember that in 2017 he made the trip to NHK with Yuzu alone in Brian's and Tracy's absence. (Brian was in hospital at that time, aye?) It must have been a really hard time for Ghislain to comfort Yuzu after his injury and give him wise advices in that difficult situation. So this return in 2019 was very special for both Yuzu and Ghislain. The bond between them must be stronger than ever after everything they've gone through together.

I want to hug and punch Ghana at the same time. The content is 10.00 for me, but I give -1 deduction for time violation. Seriously: they had four weeks since SC to water us dry cacti with unpublished stuff. No. They have to drop this CM right before NHK, when you can barely catch up with the fluff thread. However. I will forgive them because Yuzu and hot chocolate and energy.

Fast forward to 2025: Yuzu is running his own YouTube Channel with sweets + hot chocolate tutorials. Number of subscribers: +1 billion

In other words: every layout easier than 4A, 3A, 4Lz+3T is considered as a "mistake". Maybe even this one, because the BV is not completely maxed out

What will be Yuzuru Hanyu's EX program for NHK 2019?

Let's wait for the deep purple K&C with butterflies at JNats and there we have the Yuzu trinity of inspiration.
-
Yeah, I always had the feeling that the "Olympics" account is more the Yuna-bot and "Olympic Channel" the Yuzu-bot. Olympics really should take a crash course in professional Hanyurnalism from the experienced big-bro OC.
-
I'm very happy that Yuzu brought back PW in the EX gala. Now he has a balanced set of totally different music styles: Classical, calm and nostalgic SP with Otonal Powerful, dramatic and fast FS with Origin Playful, flirty rock EX with PW Full range of styles in one season. And it's very likely that we will see even more styles in the upcoming EX programs. You really cannot complain about versality this season. EDIT: I remember how people were complaining that Chopin and Otonal are so similar... Well, the choreographies of these programs are completely different unlike many skaters who change the music, but recycle the choreo from the previous season. So people should better shut up about Yuzu, versality and recycling.
-
It's the biggest joke that people question his versality, when Yuzu himself says that versality is his biggest selling point (remember FaOI Kobe talk with Nobu).
-
Vangelis!! I'm all in for this. Edit: Could someone translate the songs' names with double circles, please? I'm really curious
-
This is totally OT, but: In today's teaching seminar we were talking about recycling in Germany and one related association that we discussed had the VERY fitting abbreviation C.A.R.M.E.N. (in Eng: Central Agrarian-Resource Marketing and Energy Network) It was really challenging not to burst out laughing.
-
So the choice of Yuzu's competitive programs since 2014 looked more or less like this: Jeff: Hey Yuzu, I have some nice music for you that highlights your strengths. What do you think? Shae: Yuzu, what kind of music would you like to skate to this season? I'm prepared for a lot of research work.

And the whole award ceremony stream will be blocked and deleted because of Prince copyright issues. ISU will cry rivers of misery.

Something like... "Haha! Yuzu has never won 4CC!" ---> Yuzu wins 4CC. "But he has never won CoC!" ---> Yuzu wins CoC. "Ah... but he has never won IdF!" ---> Yuzu wins IdF. "Oh, and he has never won Skate America!" ---> Yuzu wins Skate America. "Hehe, but he has only won Worlds twice!" ---> Yuzu wins Worlds 10 times. "Boo... Yuzu has never won Euros!!" ---> Yuzu gets Spanish passport and wins Euros. Now the tabloids are REALLY fired up... Whatever he does, people will always find something, if they want to.
-
The thing with Yuzu and recycling is: he has multiple absolutely legit reasons to do so and he proofs to be right with his decisions everytime. Remember? FaOI 2017: News came out that Yuzu recycles Chopin for a third time and people were like "sigh... again?!" Then he skated a clean version with 4Lo in Makuhari and everyone was mesmerized. Recycling? What's that. ACI 2019: Many people wanted LGC back or hoped for a new SP and were disappointed, when Otonal appeared in his updated ISU bio. Then we had the first SC practice session on Thursday. Yuzu skates not only a clean RT, but with stellar quality as well and everyone's dead. SC 2019: People hope for Masquerade, LGC or new EX. What do we get? PW for the 31645794794596548th time. Problem? Everyone's going crazy and rewatching the performance in 24h loop. Another 48h loop of Jordan's practice clip. At least. Now my questions: 1. Would people who criticize Yuzu for recycling, do the same with Nathan, if he brought back Nemesis or Caravan? (some maybe, but I have my doubts) 2. If Yuzu didn't recycle, would these people praise him then? (I bet my salary that they would find another 34890327890 things to nitpick about)

I posted this picture in the fanart thread already, but I think it's worth a mentioning here as well. The colors of the costume just blew my mind. So intense
