  1. We joked with ma that Yuzu may perform together with Toshi in the closing ceremony and land the 4A there Would be such a flex to debut that jump in front of the biggest sports audience in the world.
  2. I love these ice-kiss hydroblades so much. Phantom Kabocha has contributed two pictures to Wiki Commons as well that are really great. This is one of them (from Torino gala 2019): And also: Congrats to Parisienne Walkways for reaching 9Mio views! @micaelis Regarding all Olympic routine-videos about figure skaters, this is what I've found on the Olympic Channel so far (sorted by date of upload): Yuna Kim (Jan 2019) Yuzuru Hanyu (Jun 2019) Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (Sep 2019) Alina Zagitova (Mar 2020) Mao Asada (Aug 2020) Evgenia Medvedeva (Feb 2021) Javier Fernandez (Mar 2021) To be honest, it's a bit weird that skaters like Alina and Zhenya, who only competed at one Olympics, have an all-routine video. I wonder how long an "all-routine" video of Plushenko would be... two hours?
  3. Thank you very much! I added Stockholm LMEY to the YT playlist and the table above. Sadly, the NHK Seimei fancam is gone. The account has been deleted. It was of potato quality, but still. However, I will leave the video in the list so that we don't forget it.
  4. Yeah, I only included videos that I can see here in Germany. If there are more, which are geoblocked/ not shown here, please tell. Then I will add them, too.
  5. By the way: Yuzu's "All Olympic routines" video has just passed 2Mio views. Congrats
  6. Big news! Yuzu's career achievement page has now officially reached featured list status and will be pinned on the Wikipedia mainpage on 12th July! The timing is really nice. The interest in the Olympics will probably peak around that time, so many people are likely to visit the page, also casual readers who have never heard of Yuzuru Hanyu before. [NEWS]
  7. Ahh, right. There is no medal, trophy, certificate or something similar for this achievement, indeed. That's totally true Fun fact: I just looked up that 4CC 2022 will take Place in Tianjin from January 17-22 and the Olympics in Beijing from February 4-20. Tianjin and Beijing are ca. 1:30 hours driving distance apart. It might be attractive for skaters to attend 4CC and acclimate to the local surrounding before the Games, especially those who may have jetlag problems. What do you think?
  8. My prediction for DOI (I'm undecided, if this is a joke or not)
  9. @rockstaryuzu First of all: The International Olympic Committee and the International Skating Union both used the term "Super Slam", when reporting about Yuzu's victory at 4CC last year, so it is definitely an official term now. Wikipedia is not up-to-date there. I will suggest to change this information, as it is misleading. Yagudin and Plushenko are still both referred to as career "Golden Slam" winners, having won all available international senior titles (Olympics, Worlds, Euros and GPF). So these titles won't disappear. Technically, Yuzu is not only a career Super Slam winner, but also a career "Golden Slam" and career "Grand Slam" (Worlds, 4CC and GPF) winner and also listed as such. Maybe they will call it a career "Hyper Slam", "Giga Slam" or "Ultra Slam", if someone wins all seven senior and junior titles in the future (with junior Euros/4CC), and a career "Total Slam", if the skater wins the Youth Olympics as well, but the Super Slam will stay as it is. Footnote: With one more 4CC title, Yuzu would become the first and only skater in history across all disciplines to win the career Golden Slam twice (2 Olympics, 2 Worlds, 2 4CC and 2 GPF). No other skater has achieved this feat before. It would be such a flex, if Yuzu went to 4CC instead of Beijing this season, landed the 4A there and completed the double Golden Slam
  10. Yes. I read that Nagashima retired in 2015 and wondered who created the costume for Ballade No. 1 in the 17/18 season. (Oh and yes, I mean version 4.0, as there were two in 14/15)
  11. Another research question (but it's not urgent): 1. Do you know sources that confirm Tadashi Nagashima as costume designer of Parisienne Walkways and Ballade No. 1? I found this video, but I don't know what broadcast that was (channel, date, title etc.) If you know a written source like a news article, that would be even better. 2. Was Ballade 4.0 an upgrade by Satomi based on Nagashima's design? Source? Sorry for all these questions Update: I removed the plans for the page re-structuring, as it's better not to "promote" what we do there. It should still have an encyclopedic approach of neutrality in the first place, so I will only share Wiki updates from now on that are really relevant.
  12. Wow, this close-up capture of the Origin 1.0 costume is stunning. The details look even better than on the ice. [NEWS]
  13. We added everything now: 1. All five lists of ISU world standings that confirm Yuzu being no. 1 2. The Inside Edge article you linked above for mentioning the five consecutive titles as a career achievement 3. and the Taiwanese article that also confirms Yuzu to be the first male single skater to accomplish this feat. If this is not enough, I don't know what is. They have been scrutinizing the achievement page for almost a month now. I earnestly wonder, how picky they are with other nominated articles. I had the impression that many got the pass for featured status pretty fast. Whatever, that's how it is. Personally, I'm a bit sceptical regarding Wikipedia's sourcing policy. They say that in encyclopedias "reliable secondary sources" are preferred over primary sources, but who decides, if a source counts as "reliable"? We made our experiences with the Olympic Channel and the ISU news feed, who both should be 100% reliable sources for figure skating, and what can we say... the blatant propaganda game they are playing even scratches the code of ethics, which is inexcusable for a sports governing body. If it's up to FS journalism to decide what is noteworthy enough to be included on Wikipedia, we can bury those articles right away.
  14. Yes, but the crucial information that we need is that he was the first male single skater to accomplish this feat. But the problem is solved now: Thank you very much for your effort everyone! You were so fast!!
  15. URGENT REQUEST TO ALL FANYUS: We need a reliable secondary source (newspaper, magazine or online news website ideally) that confirms: "Yuzuru Hanyu was the first male single skater to be placed first in the world standings for five consecutive seasons." We linked all seventeen ISU world standing lists that confirm him to be the first, but the review team says, this is not enough. A newspaper agency or magazine must mention this feat somewhere to be notable enough for Wikipedia, otherwise it must be removed from the achievement page. We need a source as quickly as possible, it's the last thing missing for featured list status. Thank you very much for your help in advance!!! Update: Thank you very much @Yuzu_legend! https://www.uscannenbergmedia.com/2019/10/30/the-inside-edge-yuzuru-hanyu-is-the-greatest-figure-skater-of-all-time/ The source mentiones his 5 consecutive wins, but not that he was the first. If anyone can find a source for the first, that would be even better.
  16. Thank you very much for your effort! This is highly appreciated! I think, the sources from Kenji's blog and the FaOI broadcast can be used, the rest is tricky. Wikipedia only allows "reliable primary and secondary sources". That includes books, newspapers, magazines (print or online) and TV broadcasts in the first place, with exceptions also blogs or twitter posts from verified accounts, if the author (person, institution or company) is displayed with full name. So fan posts on twitter will probably not do. I will put this issue on hold for now, because Yuzu's career achievement page is about to be elevated to featured status within the next 24 hours (finally!) and we have to mobilize our last energy reserves to fix the few remaining formatting issues. If it gets the pass, it will be the second figure skating-related list after the "List of Olympic medalists in figure skating" to reach featured list status. Yeey!! Everything for our boy
  17. I was thinking about that, too, but "Wings of Words" was also a FaOI collab and Yuzu choreographed that one himself, so we need a reliable source that clearly states Kenji as choreographer of "Story", otherwise we are not allowed to include that info in the list (wiki is pretty ruthless in that regard). Ideally we have to source every single remastered gala or show program in the list, too, but I did not have the time and energy to look them all up yet.
  18. Thank you very much! I searched for these information, but couldn't find any reliable primary or secondary sources that mentioned it. If you have any, please feel free to share the weblink (or magazine source or whatever) and I will add the information to the table
  19. Here you go: Footnote: I'm so glad that the totally unrelated podium pictures are finally gone and replaced by actual program pictures. It feels so... refreshing This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  20. Is already in progress, I just have to wait for the final okay by the team. This is the draft that I created together with user Yolo4A4Lo for the new program section (with CiONTU medleys and old show programs like Believe and True Love in there, too): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Henni147/sandbox Special thanks to Phantom Kabocha for contributing these wonderful pictures of Yuzu's most iconic opening and ending poses. They fit the program section 100% better than the current podium pics.
  21. I finally joined the figure skating project group on English Wikipedia and will help to polish and complete all figure skating-related list articles until the Olymics to have a broad coverage of the sport with proper sourcing that is easily accessible for everyone. I'm very happy that Yuzu has finally made it to the list of the cumulative medal count at the World Championships! This was long overdue. Same goes for Kim Yuna, Carolina Kostner and Virtue/Moir, who were not included in the old version of the article at all despite having won so many medals at Worlds. It's also cool that Shae-Lynn and Victor hold the all-time record of most bronze medals (four) across all disciplines. No one has ever talked about it.
  22. Well, the upside of this story is that we can still see at least one properly rotated and executed quad Loop in competition. What a loss for humanity it would be, if Yuzu dropped that rarity and beauty of a jump for the sake of points.
  23. Looks like Yuzu will be featured in a Brazil radio program on 26th June: [NEWS] Also: wow
  24. Well, getting married to someone else than ice-chan would be interesting news, but I fear, his wife or husband would not survive that revelation in one piece. My guess is the following: "Well, I finally had one year at home to get a proper piano and practice a lot. I played Ballade No. 1 in 24/7 loop and got really good at it *laughs*. I will try to record my own interpretation and skate to it next time! Yahoo~~ !!!" *big joyous grin*
