  1. Exactly! Yuzu had to go through a lot these Olympics, and in fact the last couple of years. We all know what I mean, so I won't mention these things again here. The Olympics have shown that figure skating is more corrupt than ever and that scores and medals are more meaningless than ever. And Yuzu proved for good that he has surpassed figure skating itself. He's more beloved and popular than this sport has ever been. He is the one who touches souls, moves hearts, and attracts masses of people and their attention, favor, and money. He has grown into a legend and phenomenon that goes far beyond figure skating itself. I hope he will take some time to rest, get proper treatment for his injury, process everything that happened, and do some soul searching with a clear mind. Knowing him and his incredible strength and resilience, he will definitely bounce back one way or the other. I'm sure that these experiences only make him stronger as a person. I hope he will skate and perform for his love of skating and performing. I hope he will skate for the joy and fun of it. Whatever he may choose to do in the future, his skating will speak for itself and the love and support he receives will always be the greatest.
  2. These look so great! I wish they were also available here. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  3. This is such a relatable issue I believe pretty much every person struggles with in their life. Often, you don't get rewarded for your efforts and no matter what you do and how hard you work, your efforts seem futile and fruitless. I've had many of these experiences in my own life. If you've put your all into achieving a goal and it doesn't work out for whatever reason, it's such a disappointment. You feel defeated, helpless, and powerless. It even feels like the whole world is against you. At least, that's what I felt during my own experiences. On top of his personal struggles, Yuzu also had to deal with the immense pressure and expectations not only from himself, but also from his entire country, and even the whole world. I admire him so much for handling every challenge and obstacle from the outside world with so much strength and grace. Even though Yuzu's efforts were not rewarded directly with a medal or the clean landing of his 4A, they were certainly not in vain. Yuzu has inspired so many people and gained many new fans and admirers. He rediscovered his love for skating and performing and showed the whole world what figure skating can look like. I hope that one day, he'll be able to look back and realize that in hindsight, everything makes sense and his rewards may not have been obvious, but will be more profound and meaningful. [NEWS]
  4. Source This is awesome! Eye make-up inspired by Yuzu's costumes. The Seimei one even glows in the dark like the Seimei sleeves.
  5. There must be a way to adjust the strap with watches of this class and price point. If it's a metal strap, it's usually adjusted by taking off one or a few of the links/pieces of the strap (I don't know what they're called). You should take the watch to a jewelry/watch shop and ask them to adjust it for you. They should have specialized tools and skills for taking off the links. Good luck!
  6. Hehehe... They all know who the true star is. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  7. The greatest of all time indeed.
  8. It must've been a very emotional interview and the interviewer has known and supported Yuzu for many years.
  9. Yuzu's 4A is such a magnificent beauty! If he's healthy and still has the desire to pursue it, I would love to see him jump and land it in competition. He was so close to landing it during the Olympics. I think if it wouldn't have been for his injury, he might've been able to land it then.
  10. A part of Yuzu's interview with Shuzo. Yuzu becoming the 4A himself... it's quite fitting as a symbol for his metamorphosis into the best version of himself and the best skater he can be. It's a long, painful, and hard road, but in the end the rewards will be even greater. [NEWS]
  11. There are many of Yuzu's costumes that I love, but my favorite is probably Origin 2.0. It's just so majestic! The design is breathtaking and the details are precious. The shape and color fit Yuzu perfectly and flatter his figure and make him look even taller and more slender.
  12. They know who the star is (and who sells the most newspapers). [NEWS]
  13. Aaaw... Yuzu still wipes sweat the same way as his mushroom self.
  14. These fans are all of us. Hanyuconomy. Disney should hire Yuzu as their brand ambassador. He's probably responsible for the majority of their Pooh sales. Gosh, it still breaks my heart to see Yuzu like this, but at least he could finally find some happiness a few days after his FS. Fortunately there are people like Shizuka who always support him. 15. Aaah! So pretty! Hoping for HD pics. [NEWS]
  16. I didn't know that Patrick already said in 2018 that Yuzu would be the first to jump a 4A in competition. He even called Yuzu's 3A the best he's ever seen.
  17. Wow! Patrick! Kudos to him for praising Yuzu publicly like this. [NEWS]
  18. Patrick is a great example of positive character development. He seems to be much more mature and at peace with the past. And from the last couple of comments he made, it seems like he has started to genuinely appreciate Yuzu and Yuzu's efforts. Talking of comments, I have to reiterate again how extraordinary Yuzu is in every way, including the things he says and and the way he speaks. From a very young age on, he has always been polite, humble, respectful, tactful, and eloquent in his interviews and comments. But at the same time, he has always remained genuine and authentic. Especially considering how famous he is and how much scrutiny he is under, this is more than remarkable.
  19. Lae translated Patrick's comment. I'm really pleasantly surprised how supportive Patrick has become of Yuzu. He really seems to understand Yuzu's way of thinking, his struggles, and the meaning of his challenge. [NEWS]
  20. Jeez. Someone should really take his phone away. He's making things worse. Sometimes, shutting up and not engaging is the best thing you can do. I also think we should not engage with any of this. Fernandez showed his true colors. The best way to handle this is to ignore the man and not give him even more attention. And yes, a salty thread chat would be helpful. I'm in a fan community on Discord and we have a channel called the dead sea for salty posts.
  21. I think Yuzu's thoughts and feelings were probably still very complicated after the gala. No wonder, considering what happened at the Olympics. He will certainly still need some time to process everything in peace. After some rest and time to reflect, he will probably have more clarity about what he wants to do in the future. On top of all this, he has to get his ankle thoroughly checked and get the proper treatment for it. I still hope that it's not as bad as some other injuries he had before and that he recovers quickly. I guess we will get some official statement about whether Yuzu will participate in Worlds or not in the next few weeks. As for what will happen afterward, who knows? But whatever he chooses to do, I hope he follows his heart and makes his decision based only on his own desires and preferences.
  22. Here are some of my thoughts after reading Yuzu's interview. Regarding scoring, I'm sure Yuzu has known for years that he doesn't get the points he rightfully deserves according to the rules and that the system is against him. Nevertheless, he decided to carry on and keep competing despite the unfair scoring. But he changed his focus to his own goals, especially landing a 4A. Even when the pandemic started and he ended up without coaches, he still kept on chasing his own goals and delivering programs and performances that are simply a class of their own. I think the time when he practiced all by himself in an empty rink was a very lonely and tough time for Yuzu. No matter how capable and self-sufficient you are, it's still important to have some kind of external input, a fresh point of view, and some companionship from time to time. I believe that the time period from Japanese Nationals to the Olympics was especially hard because Yuzu had committed to competing in another Olympics. And as he said himself, he committed himself to winning another gold medal with the help of the 4A as his weapon. I can imagine that the pressure from the outside world as well as from himself must've been enormous, crushing even. That's probably why he looked so tense and stressed when he arrived in Beijing. We all know what happened then. Considering my own sorrow at the sheer unfairness of all this - with bad luck piled on top of injustice - I can't imagine the utter anguish, pain, and suffering Yuzu must've felt at the time. But being the unbelievably courageous person he is, he fought back and wrote sports history despite all odds against him by almost landing a 4A. And then he went back to the practice rink just a few days later to rediscover his love and joy for figure skating. That was the first time he looked happy and at ease since arriving in Beijing. Yuzu said in the interview that being rewarded isn't everything in life and that he's still happy in the unrewarded present. He also said that he was happy to perform for other people. This might very well be the key moment in Yuzu's career in which he realized that his love for skating and performing is greater and more important than his desire to win competitions, more important than medals and titles. Yuzu has always been extremely ambitious with a fierce desire to win. And he did achieve incredibly accomplishments and became a legend of figure skating. With fair scoring, he should've won even more competitions and hold more titles, but the corruption of the system is unfortunately the way it is. Yuzu can't change anything about it and neither can we. But what he can do is to skate and perform to his heart's content and show his incomparable skating to the world. As I've already said before, what happened at these Olympics has shown that Yuzu is as loved and supported as always, in fact even more so. Despite not winning a medal, he has won many more fans and admirers and it has become clearer than ever that his fans don't love him because of his achievements and medals, but because of who he is, the way he skates and performs, and the way he makes us feel. This might very well be what freed him from the pressure of winning. Yuzu always wants to give us his all and show us everything he can do. He doesn't want to disappoint people. But I hope that the love and support he's received showed him that he will never disappoint us and we'll love him no matter what. Perhaps, now that he's gone through hell and survived again, now that he's survived being off the podium for the first time in many, many years, he can let go of the burden of always having to win and really just focus on his love for skating and performing. I believe he still has so much more to show. He's only been getting better and better the last couple of years and I think he hasn't reached his peak yet. And this kind of freedom might very well enable him to soar even higher and shine even brighter than ever. Of course everything depends on Yuzu's health and his own preferences, but I believe he will continue for a few more seasons. I think there's a certain thrill to competitions and being able to perform for a huge crowd during a competition. This kind of atmosphere is probably very different during ice shows, not to mention the lack of Pooh rains. And Yuzu definitely deserves a couple more huge Pooh rains before he decides to bow out. No matter what he decides to do in the future, I will always support him. In fact, no matter what he chooses to do, it will always be a success regardless of corruption, manipulation, and fake hype from the ISU and feds. If he competes, the competitions will be sold out and the audiences will always support him the most and cheer for him the loudest. If he decides to retire and only do ice shows from now on, they will be sold out everywhere and the crowds will flock to where he is. In this sense, Yuzu will always be the winner.
  23. Yuzu's 4A wasn't ratified, it was certified. I think in order for a jump to be ratified, it has to be fully rotated and landed cleanly.
