Thank you! Everyone, I'm so excited about Yuzu's live stream! I'm as excited as I was before competitions, but without the worry and anxiety! Yaaay!

OMG! You're right! It's a whole new world! Thank you, Yuzu!
-
@Yuzu_legend I see you're still wide awake, too. Who else from Europe decided to turn night into day and forsake sleep while waiting for Yuzu?
-
It's today! Yaaay! I'm seriously thinking about whether I should go to bed at all. It's already super late here and Yuzu's live stream starts in two and a half hours. Perhaps I should just pull an all-nighter and sleep afterward.
-
I think it's totally possible that Yuzu just wanted to dip his toes into the shallow water of a baby pool... and it turned out that the baby pool was actually an endless ocean. It's obvious that Yuzu's YouTube adventure is in no way something that was planned and executed by some professional PR/marketing agency or something. In addition to the things you mentioned, there was a lack of SEO, the account isn't verified etc. The videos look very nice, but still clearly "homemade". But if you ask me, this actually adds a lot of charm and makes Yuzu seem more approachable and real, like he's really just showing us his true self and true skating and not something that's a professionally produced and edited product. Then again, Yuzu has often said himself that he's an athlete, not an idol. And this makes him even more lovable.
-
He's probably the only athlete ever to get as much, if not even more, news and media coverage after his retirement as before.
-
Yuzu really unites so many different people from all over the world and all kinds of fandoms. This reminds me of BTS and k-pop fans supporting Yuzu during the Olympics on a large scale. By the way, the OP's Tweet already has almost 6K Likes. Yuzu and his skating are appealing to so many people.
-
Nah, he won't do that. The 2018 Olympics practice was a masterful application of strategy to confuse his opponents and make them feel insecure by hiding his true abilities and state. He probably read The Art of War. That was such a GOAT move. He trolled everybody. And when he came out and skated Chopin, it was an even greater surprise and delight. Gosh, yes! That was such a dark time. In my case, that was followed by an extremely dark and difficult period with serious family issues. During all the hard times in my life in the last couple of years, Yuzu and his skating have been such an important force of light and positivity. If you take into consideration that most non-Yuzu jumps that got high GOEs in the last couple of years were mediocre or even technically faulty jumps that certainly didn't nearly deserve the high scores, Yuzu's high quality jumps should get GOEs of at least +7 or +8 in comparison. I think the issue here is that Yuzu's account is so new and only has two videos and already got such huge traffic. There's probably some automatic system at YouTube that monitors these things and just locks the views and other stats until someone has checked if they're valid and genuine. The people monitoring this at YouTube were probably perplexed that someone who has never had any social media presence before would get so much engagement within such a short time.

OMG! The ice traces in Yuzu's logo and header were literally made by him! What a GOAT! [NEWS]

You're very welcome! I hope you'll enjoy reading it! I'm an introvert, too, and this book helped me to understand myself better. It's really eye-opening and empowering for introverts.

This is such a sweet and creative idea!

Virtual Pooh rain! This is so cute!

I agree. The spectrum of introvert to extrovert is very broad and most people are actually somewhere in between. Many entertainers are indeed introverts, which is something most people probably wouldn't expect. These introverts still love being on stage and performing, but then retreat and enjoy their time alone. Taking into consideration what I know about Yuzu, I personally think he is an introvert. He is a very thoughtful person who is excellent at quietly being and working by himself for long periods of time. He doesn't seem to need to be surrounded by people all the time. In fact, I think he often prefers to be by himself and do his thing. If somebody is interested in learning more about introverts, this book is a great read. We are so blessed! Yuzu can now finally do all the things he wants to do and express himself and his creativity freely. OMG! This is the taste of freedom! It's truly such a liberation for Yuzu and for all of us. Bring it on, Yuzu! We're ready to feast!

The Olympics also tweeted about Yuzu's YouTube channel. [NEWS]
-
Wow! So, if C-Fanyus would have access to YouTube, Yuzu's video would already have over 3 million views. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
-
Only Yuzu! I cannot imagine this happening for someone else.
-
Wow! And he did that within a little more than half a day! [NEWS]

I hope Yuzu verifies his account as soon as possible. That should also be helpful regarding the search results. And, as you said, he should get someone from his team who is experienced in PR, marketing, social media and such to work on the SEO. I searched for the term "Hanyu Yuzuru はじめまして" and even here he only comes in third. The first two are re-uploads. It's really frustrating to see people abusing his popularity and stealing his content for their own gain. But hey, this is really one more proof for Yuzu's incredible popularity. Even though his official channel doesn't even show up in search results when you search for his name, he has already reached such a huge following on YouTube. That's incredible! He's now at 286K subscribers, 32K comments, and 1,012K views.
-
You're right. This is certainly also the case. Many people who are not necessarily Fanyus and don't follow him closely, but just enjoy his skating and/or like him as a person would also watch his videos and subscribe to his channel. Talking about Yuzu's power and influence, I'm also in a fan forum that has absolutely nothing to do with figure skating or even sports. The topic is entertainers and showbiz. In the course of the last couple of Yuzu's comps, I found out that there are actually quite a few people on there who know of Yuzu and enjoy his skating. They don't care about figure skating in general and in fact only watched comps when he was participating. In other words, they only watched the sports because of him. He's also the only figure skater they care about. And these are people from all over the world, too. This is the level of Yuzu's popularity. The view count of Yuzu's video just breached 1 million!!! And he now has 285K subscribers!
-
I'm pretty sure this is exactly what happened. It's morning in China now. Many C-Fanyus probably got up and the first thing they did was to take YouTube by storm. It's incredible. Within just the last 5 or so minutes, the subscribers grew by 2K. It's now at 283K subscribers and 990K views. ETA: Yuzu already overtook the ISU by miles!
-
LOL! Lets get him his golden Play Button as soon as possible.
-
LOL! I don't know if someone already posted this. It's too cute! Watch Yuzu break all records of new YouTubers starting a channel. He'll have to reserve another room in his home for all the YouTube Play Buttons (and giant socks to store them in) he's gonna get. If Chinese Fanyus could access YouTube, I'm pretty sure he'd already have over 1 million subscribers. But I've already seen a couple of Tweets saying that C-Fanyus are working on accessing YouTube.

YouTuber Yuzu and his cute little fairies!

I'm sure Fanyu translators will continue to do their amazing work. Yuzu might actually hire professional translators and subbers for his videos, so he can reach a bigger and more international audience. By the way, I think the number of Chinese Fanyus who will get VPNs for themselves will skyrocket, since YouTube isn't available in China.
