Yuzurella

This is so interesting. I'm not a superstitious person, but I often see the number 1111 too. So, I was curious and Googled if it has a special meaning. This is what I found in a Cosmopolitan article: There is so much Yuzu content since his declaration of independence that I can barely keep up.

I actually think that it was entirely the fault of the ISU and their cronies like the US fed and JSF that Yuzu went through such a tough four years and decided to end it for good. They were fully responsible for Yuzu's bad mental state and him doubting himself and his skating. Yuzu is a natural born competitor and high achiever. He has always loved to compete. If the scoring and rules would've remained even remotely fair the last quad, I believe Yuzu would've continued to compete regardless of his injuries and other issues. Injuries are normal occurrences in an athlete's career. No matter how painful and frustrating they were, Yuzu has always had the mental and physical strength to deal with and overcome them. What he could not overcome or ignore was blatant institutionalized mobbing. And if he would've spoken up against this injustice, they would've underscored and robbed him even more and probably even painted him as being a sore loser who is jealous of younger skaters or something. Therefore, he decided to break out of this abusive environment that wouldn't allow him to win no matter how superior he was and free himself from the shackles of mistreatment. Now he can thrive and soar higher than ever. Good for him. Good for us.

Yuzu deserves all the love in the world, not only from his fans, but especially from himself. I think he used to be really hard on himself whenever he didn't achieve the results he wanted. This isn't unusual for someone who was a competitive athlete for most of his life. But now it looks like he has finally realized just how precious he is as a person and that so many people around the world love him not for his successes and medals, but for who he is and what he gives us regardless of competition results. His leaving the ISU clown show was the most loving act of self-care. I used to watch and enjoy figure skating on a more or less regular basis since I was around ten years old. But it was only when I discovered Yuzu that I became a fan of someone like I never have before. I even put in the effort to learn all the rules, learned to recognize all the jumps etc. I had never bothered to do so before. Yuzu has brought the sport to heights I had never imagined possible. He has shown mastery and beauty on a level I had never imagined possible. To me, it's a mystery how the ISU and other governing organizations could be so unbelievably stupid that they didn't recognize Yuzu for the absolute treasure that he is. Instead of promoting and supporting him in every way they could, they sabotaged him in every way they could. By doing this, they ruined the sport. The way figure skating is going, I honestly have little hope it'll survive in the long term. This is such a beautiful and encouraging way of seeing it. I'm sure Yuzu will appear in many ice shows and totally surpass anything that's ever been there before. I believe he'll produce his own ice shows too. And I do hope he'll do world tours and give his fans around the world opportunities to see and cheer for him. They amaze me again and again with their incompetency and their inability to read the room. They either don't have the ability to understand what the audience wants or don't want to see it. They're actually so incompetent that they believe people will fall for their cheap marketing tricks and start to support skaters just because they promote them. I'm a new BTS fan and I'm so thrilled that their song "Yet to Come" isn't just a perfect fit for where they're at on their own journey, but also Yuzu's journey. It's true, the best is yet to come, both for BTS and for Yuzu. And perhaps someday they'll even work together on some project. That would be absolutely amazing!

In 2019, Yuzu was clearly shown the door. He was devalued and underscored and shown that his style of skating was worthless anymore, that he was not welcome anymore. I think he believed that for a long time. For a long, painful period, he believed that he was indeed not good enough anymore, that his skating wasn't enough anymore, that he had to catch up to those jumping beans, that his time was over, that he was over. As far as I recall, he even said so in interviews. No matter how painful it was to see Yuzu injured, seeing him being treated like this and doubting himself and his skating was absolutely unbearable for me. I believe that the long break due to Covid put some things into perspective for Yuzu (and many other people). I think that during this break away from his old routine, he began to realize that it's not worth compromising his integrity and his skating to conform to rules that are clearly against him. That must've been very difficult because as a competitive athlete, he was used to being judged, scored, and evaluated based on his performances. So, it took him some time to realize the disconnect between the quality of his performances and the scores he was getting. But with time, it probably dawned on him that the game was rigged to his disadvantage and that he would get underscored no matter what he did. If there's one thing the Beijing Olympics showed Yuzu, it's that he's loved and appreciated by his fans and admirers all over the world regardless of him winning medals or not. After so many years of being on the podium at every competition, he was perhaps very scared of what would happen if he didn't win medals. What happened was that more people loved him more than ever. Not only did he not lose support, he even gained more fans and supporters. That was the final proof that he is the one whom the people love. His skating is what people admire. It's not about medals and scores. It's about him and his skating. He and his skating are more valuable and precious than any medals could be. And therefore, I'm certain that Yuzu will soar and thrive in ways not even imaginable. He will keep on showing us beautiful skating, his skating, for many years to come.

This is such a great message from Yuzu, not only for younger skaters, but it's great life advice in general. In life you often don't get the results you want no matter what you do. Sometimes you work so hard to achieve your goals, but for whatever reason, things don't work out the way you want. That's disappointing and even heartbreaking. It's so important to overcome these setbacks and move on with the right mindset. Yuzu is right. These events are whatever you make of them. You can see them as failures and let them break you, even let them define you as a person. Or you can see them as valuable lessons and life experience, stepping stones on your life journey to become better, happier, and stronger. I agree. Everything about Yuzu goes against the ideal skater that certain organizations have in mind, including his skating style, his looks, his costumes, his programs, his nationality, and the fact that he blurs the lines between genders. The level of racism, misogyny, and homophobia that is still embedded deeply within the institutions governing figure skating is unfortunately still very high. They still seem to be stuck in the 1970s. But well, let them have their masculine ice jumpers. Let's see if they'll wake up when these jumping beans fail to attract large crowds and sell tickets. They're still trying to squeeze out as much money as possible out of him. Perhaps they could finally book the small ice rink and finalize the deal now that Yuzu is gone. There is no need for the large arena anymore.

I believe the main reason for Yuzu to leave the ISU clown world behind was the repeated rule changes that disadvantaged specifically him as well as the constant underscoring of him, overscoring of unworthy opponents, and robbery and humiliation he had to suffer at their hands. The recent change regarding the PCS categories was probably the last straw for him. Yuzu realized that his skating was not valued by the ISU, that he as a skater was not valued by the official governing bodies and feds in this "sport". I believe that the Beijing Olympics played an important part in showing him that he and his skating are loved and valued by fans all over the world regardless of him winning medals or not. He loves skating too much to compromise any of it in order to please an organization that treats him and what he loves like dirt. Thus, the only way for him to continue doing what he loves most, and do it with joy and without being judged and evaluated by people who don't appreciate him and his art and craft, is to break free from this rotten place. This would indeed be the founding of the YSU, the Yuzuru Skating Foundation. Huge boxes for skater gifts? Yes, but not for Yuzu. For Yuzu, they should better reserve large meetings rooms or even gyms for his gifts. His practice sessions wearing Under Armour!!! I'm gonna miss those so much! His practice run-throughs during the Beijing Olympics were really a special farewell gift to his fans. Well, of course Yuzu isn't an amateur anymore. His level of figure skating and thus, his level of professionalism, is such that he cannot possibly be expected to stay in the amateur league anymore. He has to rise up into the pro league. I would love to see skaters becoming true professionals who keep progressing, being creative, and constantly creating and trying out new things. I can see Yuzu becoming not only the GOAT of figure skating, but one of the greatest performers of all time in general, on the same level as the best musicians, dancers, actors, and artists. He will bring figure skating to completely new dimensions that only he can envision.

How do you know he hasn't been lurking around here already? I really hope Yuzu will do world tours. I'm sure there is enough demand on all continents. Yesterday, I joked about Yuzu announcing that he's retiring from all competitions organized by the ISU and will only skate in comps organized by the newly founded YSU. In a way, that's what will happen now. There won't be actual competitions, but Yuzu breaking away from the ISU and their version of figure skating (aka ice jumping) and choosing to stick to his own vision of figure skating, his Yuzuru Hanyu figure skating, is basically him founding his own skating union in a symbolic way. I look forward to Yuzu selling all the ice show tickets, getting huge numbers of live stream viewers, getting all the media attention, getting the best sponsorship and endorsement deals, and getting love from the most fans. Most of all, I look forward to seeing him happy, healthy, and free and showing us his best skating.

I'm only catching up to all the news and posts here and on Twitter now. I'll need more time to digest everything until I can express my thoughts and feelings properly. But this is what I can say so far. I've been crying a lot since reading about the news. Not just because of Yuzu's announcement, but mostly because of everything he has given me, given all of us, all the love, joy, happiness, beauty, excitement, wonder, everything. Accompanying Yuzu on his journey has been a wonderful ride. There have been many moments of utter joy. There have also been moments of heartbreak. It has been a cornucopia of everything life has to offer. I'm just grateful for having been on this ride. I'm grateful that I get to see and experience all that Yuzu has been giving us. And I'm grateful that I'm in the company of so many like-minded, kind and generous people. Thank you, Yuzu! Thank you, everybody! Now let's go off into new adventures together with Yuzu!

Or announcing Old Man Pooh and Yuzu Pooh as his official new coaches? I agree. Yuzu is a very considerate and thoughtful man. He also knows how much his fans love him and are waiting to know what he'll do in the future. I'm sure he would've announced it sooner if he really planned to r*****. Unless it's really something unexpected (an injury) that happened the last few weeks. But I doubt that because I don't think he's been pushing himself like crazy after FaOI. I'm sure nowadays he's more aware than ever what his body needs and that he has to rest properly and let his injuries heal fully before he can continue to reach for more stars. He's in no hurry. He has already achieved more than anyone has ever achieved. Han can afford to take things slowly. Yuzu did say that he wants to continue to challenge the 4A, but I believe he'll do that in a sustainable and conscious way. Yes! And at the press conference, he'll introduce his cute new kitties and announce that from now on, he'll post regular vlogs about him playing with his cats. Well, for the ISU, it actually might be their judgement day. If Yuzu should r*****, they're done for. Perhaps Yuzu will finally announce the founding of the YSU, the Yuzuru Skating Union!

I agree. Yuzu doesn't just have the courage, inspiration, vision, drive, and perseverance to be the best he can be and bring out the best in himself. He inspires other people to be the best they can be and bring out the best in themselves. If you look at all the artists and other professionals Yuzu has worked with, many of them said something along the lines of Yuzu inspiring them to become better versions of themselves.

This Turkish sports broadcaster made a Yuzu post again, this time, showing his perfect 4Lz. It's amazing how popular Yuzu is in countries where figure skating is basically non-existent. They have good taste. Yuzu's 4Lz is absolute perfection. [NEWS]

Oooh... and then a swarm of tiny winged Poohs fetch the little pieces of costumes and use honey magic to assemble them on Yuzu's body. No wonder his costumes always look like they hug every single centimeter of his skin and every single one of his curves.
