I can see your point, but I'm not convinced this is as gratuitous as you think. I can think of half a dozen Western artists who are more gratuitous in just about every thing they put out and no one says boo. My take on this song is, JK wanted to do something unserious, and so it is. He's also said that his actual solo album is still coming, so Seven is basically a potboiler until he can get the whole album out. I am hoping for a lot more depth on his album, though. This is the guy who wrote 'Begin' snd 'My Time' and 'Magic Shop'. I can't see him releasing a whole album of meaningless pop mush, somehow. Let the guy have his joke for now. Also, 🛵 is being really icky about this release on socials. WTF. He's acting like the whole thing was his idea...

Agree. You can tell it was written by people who don't really know what JK's vocal capability is and who are used to writing for mediocre voices. But it's fine. Not every song JK makes has to be a Euphoria or a My Time. Light, fun music is cool too.

When I saw this tweet, I wondered whether JK actually had this in mind while he wrote it, but then again I'm still not convinced anyone's gotten the lyrics right yet. When I listen to the teaser, it sounds like the second half of the verse is in Korean, to me.

The MV is age restricted. You have to be signed into an account to watch it and it won't work in a playlist, so streaming it is kind of impossible and casual watchers won't be able to see it. It's emphatically only for ARMY or people who really want to see it. Not a chart song.

I think Kookie didn't notice at first because his bodyguards asked him to move more quickly to get away - he was busy posing for the official press photographers. It was unsettling. There's a reason JK can't rest easy even in his own house, that's for sure.
