Well, there is that - Ed's already written two really great BTS songs so that one will for sure be good. @Old Cat Lady the thing with Tae's album is that it's so clearly him. His colour, his style. Even if he didn’t write it, it's still very much something only he could do and make it work, and the producer he worked with was a fellow Korean who clearly got to know his musical personality well. But truthfully, I was really looking forward to having an album full of JK the songwriter. I LOVE his R&B, soulful, sweet, thoughtful way with a song. Just for sheer listening pleasure, give me a My Time or a Stay over a 3D or a Dreamers any day. But I guess JK can always do that stuff later, and he wants to strike while the iron is hot for the pop stuff

Well, the silver lining to that is that hopefully all the songs will be able to get Canadian radio play because they'll meet CanCon rules. But yeah. I don't want to catastrophize but I smell too much 🛵

To be frank, I'm harboring deep reservations about Golden now. Look at the credits - not one single BigHit or HYBE PD or writer among them - not even JK himself! It's such a departure from their usual M.O., and frankly I think it smacks of pandering to the part of thr American music industry who've always been so using and snotty towards them. However, I do trust JK's musical judgement to some degree, so I will wait and see what it sounds like. But I'm not happy with it as it stands.

No wonder Jimin was worried about JK, what the heck's with all this zooming around! He's literally doing one day in Korea and then one day on the other side of the globe, and back again. His circadian rhythm must be completely messed up by now. Him vlogging his way through the airport in front of Dispatch made me laugh, though. the irony. I've been browsing around on this website: www.lightupk.com , which sells K-Pop merch here in Canada. They advertise that you don't have to pay the costs of shipping from Korea, but when you look at the prices, it's clear that they do, and just pass it on to you in a mark-up, so the only savings lies in avoiding having to give FeeHL their extra $20 'bring it to your door' fee.. ANYWAY. My cranky grumbling aside, I decided to see how much it would cost me to get one copy of all the BTS or Chapter 2 cover magazines they have in stock, plus next year's wall calendar... price: $305 CAD for 7 items . It's so expensive to be a fan. No I did not order anything. I might pick some things up the next time I'm in Montreal though OTOH, they have some of the albums on 'sale' - slight discounts....

I feel like the guys are changing up their approach to the Grammys and going with the carpet-bombing approach this year - basically, hit everything with everything and odds are, you hit at least one target. Not sure if that's the way to go. Also, Suga should have submitted one of his D-Day tour performances for 'best live performance' because i've never seen anything like that show. It would win. About categories: both V and RM could have fit into a jazz, adult contemporary, or lounge music type of category. Agree that JitB would be good in the alternative category. And Hobipalooza should have gotten a nom for live performance. Agree that Jin should have leaned into the Coldplay thing and submitted in Rock, but The Astronaut is not a rock song Imho, Jimin should have submitted LC as a dance track And why have none of them submitted anything for songwriting!?
