  1. Maybe not, but we can try to make sure the ones who misbehave are isolated cases...
  2. I can't speak about last year, but this year I don't think that was the case. They had a large section of seats reserved behind the judges that were meant for skaters and coaches to use...but based on a tweet I saw, apparently a lot of the skaters didn't realize this so the seats stayed empty the whole time. But I didn't hear anything about legitimate ticket holders being turned away.
  3. On with a new topic: Johnny Weir tweeted his reaction to Otonal, but has anyone found any info on Plushenko's reaction to Origin? I Googled but haven't found anything yet.
  4. Yeah in the video they're all very carefully keeping their backs to him...🤣
  5. I agree with you, and I also know that there are people who can be very very good at fishing for the information you don't want to reveal. They'll circle around and around the topic, picking away at it bit by bit, until you find yourself having said far far more than you ever intended to...hope that's not the case here.
  6. He's having so much fun! Then he goes from rocking out to dead serious the second the earphones come off. I love it. Actually, the whole time at ACI, Yuzu really looked like he was having fun. During the practices and the SP, there was lots of smiles and a general sense of light-heartedness. It was nice to see.
  7. I'd hope so anyways.
  8. She's actually French, I think. And at lot of what she's sharing seems like a betrayal of privacy to me...
  9. All of that is basically the idol element of Yuzu's fandom. I noticed at ACI that there were two or three general categories of his fans: the ones who were there to watch FS and like Hanyu as well; the dignified older ladies from Japan who were there to watch him, and what I'm going to call the groupies, who were there to chase after him and for nothing else. These ones were the ones who lined up for seats and crowded around the athlete's rink entrance to get photos of him. They're also the ones he ended up shushing, by the way. And they're also the ones who ran out of the arena en masse at the start of Chadwick's program , which was horribly annoying for the rest of us who wanted to watch him. As for screaming, I'll confess to doing my share, but only during the general applause. I was trying to hold back because I do have a high-pitched, high-volume howl...but it was difficult. However, I tried to limit myself to only one 'Woo!' I hope it wasn't too bothersome.
  10. Also, it's easy to see from Yuzuru's actions that he feels bad for his fellow competitors that things are that way.
  11. It's not said in the interview. Shae-Lynn brings it up by saying that she's seen it, but not where or when. She describes it a bit. Then PJ replies saying "I've seen it too," before moving on to the next question. Also, Brian, in that interview at the Olympics, says, when asked about it, that Yuzu has done it and that he's seen it ( although he's referring to Zu doing it in harness). He then goes on to say it's something that needs to be carefully trained so as to avoid injury.
  12. That kind of behaviour is on a par with the fans who booed Yuzu when he won over Daisuke Takahashi back when. It's the kind of behaviour that doesn't make much sense to me. Just because you're 'for' Yuzu, doesn't mean you have to be against everybody else...and if you're actually a FS fan, the more great skaters there are, the happier you should be. If someone's looking for factionalism, they can go watch soccer/football and leave the rest of us alone to enjoy the skating please. While we're on the topic, does anyone else find it exceptionally rude when someone in the audience corrects/criticizes another member of the audience for cheering/cheering too loudly/getting excited/ jumping up and down? Everyone's there to have fun, and cheering and getting excited are part of the fun, so it's like being told you're bad for having fun. It really grates on my nerves when people do this. Note that there's a world of difference between happily cheering and being an obnoxious fan, too.
  13. You could dress up in Seimei costume and be a decoy! I'd love to contribute to the effort as well but my non-Japanese features and Rubenesque figure would sadly work against me there...on the other hand the average fanyu is about 1/3 my size so maybe I could help by squashing them?
  14. @Xen oh I agree with you totally. One of the weirder, creepier aspects of my encounter with the stalker-fan was that I got the distinct impression she was trying to make everyone else go away, even if they were just standing there quietly to see him pass, so that she could have Yuzu to herself if he happened to walk by. Which felt so extremely wrong to me that I had to get away from her. It's as you said, it was all about her with no thought to what he might think. And I really wondered what she might do if someone happened to get in her way. Anyway, it all just means that the rest of us should behave with care towards/ around Yuzu so as not to cause problems.
  15. You know, there's another aspect to this which is the fact that ultimately the behaviour of Yuzu's fans ends up reflecting on him and affecting him. So my thinking is that it would be great if all of his fans adopted the kind of behaviour he would show to others in any situation: ie, courtesy, respect, and kindness. I think it would instantly resolve the issue if that were to happen.
  16. True that.
  17. Until we have to be kuyashii, in any case....😃
  18. Cripes, where do you skate? Do I even want to know?
  19. Funnily, enough, although I was feeling very overwhelmed before he came out for that Thursday practice, the first time he skated by my side of the arena I thought the same as you. It really helped me calm down.
  20. Dude, I hope that's not me you're referring to.🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have my moments but I'm a sensible person as a rule.
  21. Well, the reality is that as an athlete, he has a job to do at competitions that doesn't involve interacting with fans. It's not like he's an idol or entertainer who's whole purpose of existence is basically to attract fans. So it would be great if that aspect could be in the forefront of everyone's minds when they go to watch him...but it's unrealistic to expect all fans to do this. Which is why I can see the day coming when he actually will have to have some kind of constant security presence, and that'll be a sad day when it happens. But I simply can't get over how gracious he is about it all and how he doesn't let it affect his concentration while competing. It's practically his superpower.
  22. Oh, I feel for him! Half the audience got up and left as soon as Chadwick's performance started because Yuzu wasn't there anymore. As a mere spectator, I found it rude... I can't imagine how bad it must have felt being on the ice and seeing that.
  23. Which would be a shame, because there's lots of other good competitors who go there too.
  24. My thoughts also.
  25. Be careful what you wish for...he's enough of a troll that he might just do it....
