  1. The article sounds very reminiscent of Olympics-chan who runs the Olympic social media. You think maybe they hired her? Where were prices quoted? I searched the whole site and didn't see anything?
  2. I learned my lesson and will not buy an All-Event pass again. That's if travel to Stockholm is even possible by then. Who knows. I suspect ticket sales are going to be very, very slow for 2021 Worlds until this coronavirus thing is over. Also, looks like the Stockholm venue has a similar ticket sales mechanism in place as Evenko did. Even more reason to stay away from the early ticket-buying frenzy. I will definitely only do single-day tickets and pick and choose my events. Also, no ticket prices listed yet. Are we just guessing it'll be the same $$$$ as Montreal?
  3. I wanted to pick PW, I really did, but I couldn't vote against Seimei either.
  4. It's just, the tune itself, if it didn't have Yuzu skating to it, wouldn't attract me. To my ear, it's kind of meh. Sorry!
  5. Reposting b/c it got lost in the shuffle yesterday and we all need a good laugh: Jean-Luc Baker works out with his pet: https://twitter.com/FSIgstories/status/1242118981928005632?s=20

  7. Dear God, I hope not. I just read that Hong Kong is now experiencing a new wave of infections brought on by Hong Kong expats returning home after some of the restrictions in the city eased, because they thought they had got through it okay and were in the clear. Now HK will be banning all non-residents as of Wednesday AND international flights will not be allowed to connect through HK. Meanwhile, in my city, we now have community spread and a Chief Public Health officer who thinks simply appealing to people's better nature over Facebook will be enough, when public health should be bloody going door-to-door with information packages and quarantine orders, making sure every last man, woman and child in this city knows to stay home. The more this goes on, the more I don't understand the hesitation of the civil authorities to impose and order measures that will ensure people's safety. It's all half-measures and recommendations and assurances that the economy will be looked after and essential trade can continue. Feh.
  8. Canadian skaters might be free to travel but getting back to the country might be another story. There's been news item after news item about Canadians getting stranded overseas as airlines shut down. if I were in their shoes, I'd stay put at home right now.
  9. Is gyoza really a fried food, though? Any time I've had gyoza, they've been very light and not greasy at all, and I thought they were like pierogy - you boil/steam them then brown them very lightly in a pan. And grilling is not frying. I probably should have said 'deep fried', like french fries or tempura.
  10. Regarding Yuzu and food: the only thing I know for sure is that Nobu has said Yuzu has a very light appetite, and that Nobu has never seen him eat fried food. Also that at Skate Canada international in Lethbridge, in 2015, he and Daisuke Murakami had a hard time eating the banquet because it was nearly all too oily and greasy for them. (As per one of Daisuke's YouTube videos). So I would guess that Yuzu has a pretty healthy but simple diet overall.
  11. TBH, the music is not my favorite. For that reason, I haven't been able to warm up to any of the Chopins ...until this year's at 4CC. The way Yuzu did it this time, so natural and easy, like he's breathing or walking or some such, really got to me. So basically I only like 2020 4CC.
  12. Nam's also a lot taller than his baby version, whereas Yuzu didn't grow quite so much.
  13. I guess I missed your suggestion - didn't see it. And I don't know if I'm equipped. My laptop is still Windows 7, for example. Plus, I tried my first Zoom call yesterday and the stream started to slow down and die around the 30-minute mark. Might be problematic for longer events
  14. If they haven't planned it yet, maybe they will now!
  15. I know. And they showed all the ice dancers. Not sure what happened but
  16. I think it's the latter. So that's probably why they gave the interview the air time...because at least Yuzu still.has a Canadian connection. I wanted to watch Olympic Seimei again... But they must have had an editing error, because right before the interview they said they would air the men's competition. So now I'm pouting.
  17. So they aired Yuzu's interview, and the ice dance, women's, and pairs final flights. But did not air the men's skating. What the heck! Here I thought they were doing so well...
  18. Same. Never going to buy an all-event sight unseen again. I will wait until all the information is released before buying, or else get single day tickets, and the gala is what I'll purchase last.
  19. Get a VPN for Canada and then you can watch everything online. CBC is streaming this online right now.
  20. Just watching the CBC re-broadcadt of Pyeongchang...and THEY AIRED THE YUZU INTERVIEW IN IT'S ENTIRETY!!!!! WOO!!! It's just so exciting to get to see him properly on TV! Also, watching the ice dance again made me realize how much I miss the Shibutanis.
  21. I think Brian is just constantly afraid that Yuzu is going to let his ambition for a 5 quad program outrun his common sense, TBH. "Quality is more important" is probably his way of telling Yuzu to be careful and safe at every step.
  22. It's part of the annual Obon festival in Japan. I actually don't think it's a dance meant for performance the way flamenco is, but it's the only common Japanese dance I know about.
