Thank you. I hope it turns out just a rumor, but it is sad if she took such a risk for a GP event.
-
Is it the same injury she has been suffering since shortly before Skate America? Now I remember some of the GPs we watched through our fingers with fear in 2017... Whatever it is, wish her a speedy recovery.

Lately, in Japanese speaking part of Twitterverse, musicians are sharing their experiences under the hashtag "#演奏中に起こった事故" (which means "an accident I experienced during a performance") and Kotaro Fukuma, who worked with Yuzu in FaOI and MwW, shared his episode about Ballade No.1. "I have had to suspend my performance twice until today. The first time was in March 2015, during my first recital at Salle Gaveau, Paris, when a recording of my past performance suddenly got played in the auditorium. The second time was in October 2016, during a recital in Hamburg, when an old audience sitting in the front row fainted from anemia. Strangely, on both occasions, I was playing the Ballade No.1, written by Chopin. 😱 However, in July 2015, I could perform this piece to collaborate with Mr. Yuzuru Hanyu in an ice show in Japan for a surprise performance, so in my mind, this piece is not a "cursed piece of music" but a piece that is precious to me. ☺️ " [NEWS]

lae was much faster than me but let me share my translation as well: "Hello, everyone. It's Yuzuru Hanyu. I am currently working my hardest to prepare for NHK Trophy. At the moment, I have no idea what kind of challenge, what kind of sense of achievement, what kind of joy, what kind of hardship awaits me, but I am hoping to continue doing my best every single day. In order also to be able to show you what comes after the hard work, my... (Tries to find the words for a while) myself doing my best, (Laughs) for now, I will keep working my hardest. I will appreciate your continuous support, and please look forward to it!" [NEWS] With 楽しみにしててください (Please look forward to it) at the end, he may be putting pressure on himself, but it also gave me the feeling that he himself is looking forward to it and trusting in himself. Best of luck, Yuzu! Stay healthy and make your dream come true!

It's Alexander Petrov of Russia. Since I hear Tracy Wilson talking with someone, and they mention Patrick Chan, I guess the footage is from SCI2016? Not sure what was on the monitor of Petrov's cellphone. Welcome, @kay

Kao says he landed a 4Lo in practice. A filmed attempt. Kao says this one would get q mark. Apparently, he could not film the one he thinks fully rotated.

悲愴 is a part of Japanese translation of the title of the musical piece that describes the motif of it, so if its English title is "Etude Op.8 No.12 "Pathetic,"" translation here should be "Pathetic," though "Pathetic" should be a translation of another word... But the word 悲愴 itself can be translated as "pathos" as well. Following are the other Japanese nicknames of the programs I know of. Most of them are four-syllable abbreviations of romanized or translated titles of the music. チゴイネ (Chigoine): Abbreviation of チゴイネルワイゼン (Chigoineruwaizen = Zigeunerweisen) ロミジュリ (Romi-Juri): Abbreviation of ロミオとジュリエット (Romio to Jurietto = Romeo and Juliet) パリ散 (Pari-san): Abbreviation of パリの散歩道 (Pari no Sanpo-michi = Parisienne Walkways) ダムパリ (Damu-Pari): Abbreviation of ノートルダム・ド・パリ(Notorudamu do Pari = Notre Dame de Paris) バラ1 (Bara-Ichi): Abbreviation of バラード第1番 (Barado dai-ichiban = Ballade No.1) オペラ座 (Opera-za): Abbreviation of オペラ座の怪人 (Opera-za no Kaijin = Phantom of the Opera) レックレ (Rekkure): Abbreviation of レッツゴー・クレイジー (Rettsugo Kureijii = Let’s Go Crazy) ホプレガ (Hopu-Rega): Abbreviation of ホープ・アンド・レガシー (Hopu ando Regashii = Hope and Legacy) クリメモ (Kuri-Memo): Abbreviation of クリスタルメモリーズ (Kurisutaru Memoriizu = Crystal Memories) SEIMEI, Origin, Otonal are all within four-syllable in Japanese. I wonder if it was according to Yuzu's calculation (ETA: Sorry, Otonal was the title of the music) White Legend used to be called “白鳥 (Haku-Cho = swan)” by some, but since Yuzu has two swan-themed programs now, I guess it has become obsolete.

It's the translator translated "悲愴," a translation of "pathetic," as sorrow. Japanese fans call the program 悲愴.

According to Kaori's comment after SP, she was feeling crampy in her chest during the warm-up and actually got cramps in her left calf and right chest while doing the first spin of her SP. She got nervous because she had to do 3F+3T after that, but she braved it, screaming inside, "Oryaaaaa!!" (Imagine a battle cry of a warrior who found a boss enemy in front of them) Taking part in four competitions in a short time was her choice. She says by competing that way, she will get used to the nervousness, that the memory of recent competition makes her think, "I went through a nervousness like this in the last competition." https://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2021/10/09/kiji/20211009s00079000459000c.html https://www.nikkansports.com/sports/news/202110090000972.htm Take care, Kaori... Marin had been feeling unwell since JNats last year and had not been training in a way to compete until March. She continued going to the rink to maintain her senses for skating and to know how she felt about skating, but she didn't practice jumps. During that time, Shingo Nishiyama introduced her to ice dance, and that reminded her of the joy of skating and motivated her to resume training as a singles skater and an athlete. Until a month ago, she was able to run through her program with a layout that was close to hers of 2-3 years ago, but somehow she went back into the slump while getting close to this competition. Now she is hoping to regain her jumps to be able to compete with current top skaters. https://www.nikkansports.com/sports/news/202110090001160.html Mai Mihara was exempted from Kinki Regionals because she took part in Japan Open. Wakaba, Mai, Rino, Mana, Shun, Keiji, Sota, Kazuki, Lucas Tsuyoshi, and Sena are exempted from East and West Japan Sectionals. Yuhana will be exempted too if she needs to quarantine after Skate America. https://www.skatingjapan.or.jp/common/img/info/qualifying_2021_2pdf.pdf

So it is confirmed that Rika has withdrawn from Asian Open Trophy to lessen the burden of traveling between China and Canada. https://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2021/10/07/kiji/20211007s00079000275000c.html Translation of her comment released via JSF: "Thank you for always supporting me warmly. I, Rika Kihira, have decided to miss the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy - OWG Test Event. It was a tough decision, but considering the burden of traveling to China from Canada, where I am currently based, I decided to focus on preparations for Skate Canada. I will do my best to perform well in Skate Canada. Thank you for your continuous support." I wonder if it is a good idea to compete at AOT for Shun and Kaori as well since they are going to take part in Skate America. Cup of Austria for Wakaba and Warsaw Cup for Muramoto/Takahashi also look unfeasible.
-
Not sure when this change was made, but according to the current entries, Mai Mihara and Kaori Sakamoto are going to compete at AOT. Rika Kihira is now on the list as a substitute. https://results.isu.org/events/cschn2021_Women.htm

Its special site https://park.ajinomoto.co.jp/special/kachimeshi/kachimeshi-stadium_01/ In this CM, Uta Abe, who won an Olympic gold medal this summer, gives Yuzuru Hanyu, who is going to compete this winter, the "Kachi-Meshi Stadium." As you may know, Kachi-Meshi (victory food) is a series of recipes designed to help athletes conditioning themselves for victory. Kachi-Meshi Stadium, apparently, is another series of recipes based on Kachi-Meshi that are arranged to make it easy for anyone to cook it with an electric grill and enjoy at home with friends and family. The food Yuzu and Uta tasting here is a variation of Okinawan food taco rice that uses ground pork seasoned with miso instead of taco meat. [NEWS]

If you mean the outfit of Tetsuko Kuroyanagi (co-star of the CM who has been appearing in Towa's CMs for a long time), it's her style. If you search images by 黒柳徹子 (her name in Japanese) and 徹子の部屋 (title of her talk show that is famous in Japan), you will see what I mean. Also, green is Towa's corporate color, and beige apparently is another key color they have been using in their past CMs. I am guessing Yuzu's outfit in their CM is the result of asking the stylist to style Yuzu using green and beige in a way that would match Tetsuko's style, not too casual but not too businessman-like. For most people, it would be hard to look good in this outfit, but it's Yuzu. I see no problem!
