  1. And he doesn't even have a skincare routine :sadPooh: Well he sweats a lot... His skin must be really clean haha
  2. Nah, like almost every kid it was thanks to anime. But i don't know, i saw more things in anime than just the story or the animation, the themes, the music or the characters. I am not sure when i started to notice things about the culture that weren't being said/shown in an explicit or direct way but somehow shone through the way the stories were presented. There was something in i don't know, "the feeling"? of what i was watching that spoke to my heart. I got curious about the language and i found it extremely beautiful and there was this big BIG desire to learn it, as if i was hungry and i had found the tastiest food in the universe. When i started listening to japanese music there were some things i noticed in general about the way the lyrics were written and the japanese style for composing music that started to solidify my love for Japan. I began to look into the actual culture, the etiquette, the food, the sights! I am aware of the not so good things the country has, but so far, that hasn't been enough to discourage me from loving it :P TL;DR: I think it was Japan as a whole that captured my heart, albeit piece by piece over the course of a few years. :embSwan: (Puts final brick in the text wall :sadPooh: )
  3. In my case i fell in love with Japan a long LONG time ago. But it is so obvious how much he loves his country, that my own love for it reignited and burns brighter than before. I feel a weird sense of pride when i see what he has accomplished, like, i feel that some japanese must be really happy to know that that athlete, that incredible skater and person is representing their country... (Maybe because that's something i don't think i am going to be able to feel about my own country in my lifetime. So sad haha, but Japan feels like the home to my heart so i am really happy too.)
  4. I've been to Japan and it tastes the same for me. It's just they sometimes have different menu items, like a teriyaki burger for instance. I hear he does go to McDonald's in Toronto from time to time. Oh and by the way, America is the home of his beloved Winnie the Pooh (a la Disney). So Maybe I can put Pooh on the US flag and get the point across. "The Home of Winnie the Pooh supports you!" Sporting my Pooh ears was enough for fans to get the point. A fantasy of mine: Going with him to Disneyland (in california bc it's my home park and bc it's the original) to see him hug Pooh :space:
  5. I hear he likes McDonald's actually. But i bet it's Japanese McDonald's :P I doubt they taste the same (because at least here, mexican McDonald's and american McDonald's taste completely different)
  6. Let's put a samovar, a balalaika and a bear onto ours... and a bottle of vodka!!! A Pooh piñata in mine... With tequila... Eating tacos :space:
  7. Watching TV that close will ruin your eyes, young lady! #worthit

  9. No, no soy yo... Te he seguido con mucho gusto en el antiguo hogar, pero nunca me sentí como en casa. Planeta Hanyu sí que es un hogar  Que raro que alrededor de Yuzu fluya tanta energía positiva!!! :rofl2: :goe:
  10. Welcome! Glad you joined us :pbow: I just had a random thought..... is Yuzu a cat or dog person? I am leaning more towards cat person, I mean he himself is a space kitten Cat person. At Ghana event last year he said he’d love to keep a cat, but he can't. So he watches cat videos ^^ Also this: (picture from google images) Cute! A family picture :pbow:
  11. There is no such a thing as color restriction for skaters, at least in rules. Or Misha Ge wouldn't be able to sport that color at Olympics [image]http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Figure+Skating+Winter+Olympics+Day+7+5MmFO0T-BZNl.jpg[/image] Yata can i marry Misha too

  15. Yes please, this place is for everyone :pbow: no religion should be shoved in anyone's faces... but yeah, church talk goes in the church :) pm if anyone has any questions about it!
  16. I am still waiting on the picture that unleashed the invisible mode but I don't think Shiro even knows where it is anymore. I was more than happy with the dancing eggplant though... for all of you who don't have access to the church yet. Also guys, we're leaking too much, let's keep this as sin free as possible
  17. It's kinda funny to look when you sort the members based on their number of posts - there are few of you (the insane ones) and then there is the rest of us (the mortals)... Disclaimer: I do have a job. I am not dedicated to this place 100% The Church of the Purple Pants came into being in the old FF, as far as I remember - with Hydroblade as its Head. I don't remember how we got the name of Church lmao. Or how i ended up as the Head, since it was Shiro who unlocked invisible mode...
  18. I don't know if you used to lurk at Yuzu's GS Fanfest but the Church is the continuation of the invisible mode in that old thread, except without the invisible ink and a lot more pictures......... And a lot more sinning
  19. I'll leave it for more ecclesiastically minded people to explain the history and status of the Church... That would be me i guess haha. The church is where we all go to sin  Emerges from the depths I don;t know how i did it either... Your postcount is just insane :pooh: Honestly, i have no idea how i got there. Just like i didn't realize when i hit 2k posts on the other place :sadPooh: i'm almost leaving Seimei level now!
  21. Emerges from the depths I don;t know how i did it either...
  22. Bro! I miss it, too. I haven't been to forums for ages, and now it seems kinda difficult to catch up with everything and comment (I much more like reading lol). But we'll manage to get back! I know that :pbow: The purple bananalord is waiting for you
  23. I think Japanese if speak it for days, BUT it's only to certain level. When conception is too complex I still switch to my native language. And Yuzu certainly tends to explain quite complex feelings at press-conferences. I don't believe that thinking 100% in foreign language in possible. In my case i can think 100% in english, and i am not in a bilingual environment. I think it is possible :pbow: That said, for example, during the first days of planet Hanyu i couldn't japanese at all, my brain couldn't handle it bc of the stress and lack of sleep... I think it's something you acquire with practice
  24. I think in that case something would be lost in his internal translation :xD: Even when you know foreign language at very high level, you still think in your native language. And sometimes foreign language just doesn't have exact expressions or nuances your native language has. Emerges from the depths I definitely think in english and japanese when i'm speaking either of those languages though... So it is doable...
