  1. I actually find it a bit funny, because 2018 - We need to implement -/+ 5 scoring system, because only this way we can properly evaluate our #sophiscated sport. 2019 - (ice dance) But it's hard for us, maybe consider -/+ 7? 2022 - Actually, we are too dumb, let's reduce components to 3. spoiler: It won't change anything anyway.
  2. https://twitter.com/suge20153/status/1495245237006254082 Wow, it's as if it was important to send skaters to international competitions! As if it was fundamental for Satoko, Mai, Kaori, Wakaba, Rika's careers that they were send to JGP from the youngest age. As if this is exactly why minimum senior age is relatively low. because under even just relatively fair scoring and with more concious approach to teaching jumps (and I don't even mean here quads alone, but also 3-3 combos and triples in novice and pre-novice + some other worrying teaching tendencies like -3-3-3-3-3 combos or "no amount of triples will hurt you" -> and I think this part is especially important even under biased judging) there is no way that 15-17 year old girls would win everything left and right to this extent and rising age means just tip-toeing around the real issue and can have negative effects too.
  3. *whispers* This summer ISU will discuss sequences BV.🤫
  4. Rui Ebata (kickboxer) said that he watched Olympics and was inspired by Yuzuru's performance. https://gonkaku.jp/articles/9653 This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  5. Cup of Russia: Final 24-27 February https://fsrussia.ru/results/2122/cor2122_final/index.htm among skaters: Alexey Erokhov, Petr Gumennik, Makar Ignatov, Dmitry Aliev, Pepeleva/Pleshkov, Mukhortova/Evgeniev, Geinish/Mironov, Vasilyeva/Zaporozhets, Veronika Yametova, Valeria Shulskaya, Mironova/Ustenko, Morozov/Bagin Vladislav Dikidzhi, Artem Kovalev, Nikolay Kolesnikov, Gleb Lutfullin, Egor Rukhin, Kirill Sarnovsky, Nikolay Ugozhaev, Ilya Yablokov, Sofia Akatieva, Inga Gurgenidze, Alisa Dvoeglazova, Veronika Zhilina, Maria Zakharova, Elizaveta Kulikova, Natalia Lagutova, Adelya Petrosyan, Sofia Titova, Petushkova/Malikov, Storublevtseva/Gritsaenko, Khabibullina/Knyazhuk, Cheremnikh/Butenko, Shegay/Shamshurov, Aleksova/Vladimirov, Kaganovskaya/Angelopol, Katashinskaya/Grachev, Mamchenkova/Volkov Channel 1 Cup You know why.
  6. "funds could be raised by CF & Furusato Nozei (hometown tax program)" "further studies are required to assess the financial burden/impact of this project" "t’s his wish to see Yuzu coaching promising skaters in Sendai in the future." Errr, I don't think Zu will agree. EDIT: Besides, the last thing FS in Japan needs is more public rinks. And it's not possible to coach properly threre anyway.
  7. I don't really know why are you surprised. They tried to achieve for a long time. In a way, all 4 disciplines were a perfect culmination of last 4 years. But that aside, I kind of... get... their desperation. If you compare TV ratings since 2015, their average % only drops more and more. Even for comps with Yuzuru. To some extent it's probably because of rising popularity of online streaming (legal one I mean), but also this season, Olympic season (!!), they didn't broadcast whole GP. Hell, I'm not even sure if they planned to show in full their own GPF live. I wonder how this situation will look from now on. Anyway, I hope Hashimama will lose her bid for Olympics 2030.✌
  8. I think Yuzuru is honest in what he said, even if there are some asterisks or unspoken words. But we can try to catch them because we know him. How many others instead will take him on a face value - that [redacted] is an ideal of skating that should be followed? Many, really. Not that ultimately it will make any difference, since it's just a one comment in the sea of 4 years of damage. The damage that I can see in interviews with children. But it doesn't matter what media says, right?
  9. Annnd we are back to undeserved praises.
  10. JSF keeps sending skaters to irrelevant competitions like Coup de Printemps, but couldn't be bothered with JGP and challengers.🙄 https://news.jsports.co.jp/skate/article/20190310222532/?p=3
  11. SOI Japan 2 stops in Osaka and Tokyo https://figureskate-soi.com/2022/news_220215.html Who even planned this? Worlds team won't quarantine in time again.
  12. from interview with Yumiko Suzuki (LOTTE) https://www.skatingjapan.or.jp/partners_interview/interview_04.php This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  13. In fact, it's better to be done with all interviews in one conference and then go asap to Japan.🙏
  14. Unless he arrived here already with a plan (which is not impossible), there is no way he will make any big decisions before seeing doctor.
  15. Osaka Championships 11-12 February among skaters: Kazuki Tomono, Shioh Kojima, Sae Shimizu, Haruna Iwasaki https://www.jsfresults.com/local/2021-2022/fs/27/332/index.htm
  16. Do you know what it will cause? It will overcrowd national junior fields. It literally 2 times extends the time they have to spend in juniors. Which means 2 times more kids fighting for the same amount of JGP, JWC (and, ugh, YOG) spots. And in an attempt to outdo your competitiors, it means even more 3a, even more quads.
  17. Idk, Sochi FP wasn't the happiest event. Am I supposed to prepare myself for 4s fall and invalid combo?
  18. Hirayama/Tateno announced their retirement. From the bottom of my heart, f*ck you, JSF.
  19. Airi Gotou, Mone Takahashi, Yukari Yamane, Ami Nakai, Ayumi Shibayama, Yo Takagi, Sakurako Daimon, Mao Yaguchi
  20. "If you acquire one big skill, you can expect to be active on the international stage at once. I have high expectations." If that was the case Hana would go to international competitions long time ago.😩 google: what I have to do to save Mone's career https://news.jsports.co.jp/skate/article/20190310222451/?p=3
