My wishful thinking is Polina for GPF But it would be hard, tech panel last year at SA was not working at all. Considering they would try to prop up Zhou this year, I don’t expect them to work either.

“Nathan Chen landed 6 quads in competition”? “Nathan Chen landed 5 quads at the Olympics”? You know, important things need to be repeated

Who want to bet the biggest story is “Nathan Chen was the first men landing 5 quads in competition”?

Di chuyển liên tục, đổi hướng liên tục mà vẫn cùng tông với nhạc, thân trên hoàn toàn relaxed như là đang múa vậy, rồi 3Lo thực sự là out of no where, ko cần set up gì cả, coi mà há hốc mồm.

He is quite silent on twitter too. I guess he’d comeback when new rules are decided? Such a pity, usually he is the voice of reason I was hoping him to be the Italian presentator -

Because we simply cannot prevent it. 1) ISU doesn’t want to limit national bias. I was shocked to know that SC president was on the panel of ice dance at Olympics. I mean, could there be a bigger conflict of interest than this? Yet they allowed it. 2) After all this sport is just a political game. P/C outscored V/M in PCS for their messy short dance more or less showed that there is no actual judging at all. Especially when the conterders are from big feds and consistently have good results. We have seen Zhenya, Alina breaking records left and right even when they did not perform better than their previous record-breaking performance. We also see japanese ladies struggle to have new personal best despite having actual improvements. Everything has been arranged under the table. I won’t be surprised if in next quad, russian ladies still dominate 1-2 at most of the competitions, with top korean/japanese lady get into 2nd/3rd if they are lucky. The 3rd russian lady will likely be sacrificed because ISU doesn’t like podium sweep. 3) National bias is not always a thing. Look at this: the Japanse judge is a prime example of domestic conflict of interest. Wouldn’t be surprised if he/she is from Nagoya 🙄 -

Vincent 4F was called ! at worlds, but it could easily be fixed because he is, well, american If they’re targeting at Yuzu i think they’ve severely underestimated him he has 4T, 4S (this moody quad has returned as per report), 4Lo, possibly 4lz and 4A next season. It may take a while for him to completely control them all, but there will be the point Nathan can’t out TES him anymore -

You are right. Modern technology is too dangerous. We should go back to plastic stars, cardboard medals and chocolate medals. -

Solo 4lz/4f have higher BV than 3-3 combo so yes, i think many skaters will train that. -

Nuitsuki replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Agree. In the old system skaters tend to do 3A- combo and quad combo because the subsequent jumps in the combo get the same coefficient for GOE as 3A/quad (1x), while for non-3A 3-3 the GOE coefficient is 0.7x. Now that thing has gone, I can see some skaters head towards doing 3-3 and quad solo to improve consistency. For example, under the new system, with the same raw GOE, 4T 3lz-3t would give the same score as 4T3T 3lz. The only reason they choose to do harder combo is because judges are more generous with ‘expensive’ elements (4lz and 4F combo, etc.) -

Honestly, we can’t say anything yet. Theorically all skaters will aim to learn at least 3 type of quads to be competitive, but whether they can stabilise them is another story. And if they go hard and place those quads near the end to get the bonus, chances they would fall (hopefully not injury themselves in the process) would be increased.
