Well, 4 is a bad luck number in Japan, so it'd make sense he'd want us there before getting to 4000 lol
-
And suddenly, it's not Nessie anymore, again. It's just Yuzu's next quad that we're analyzing in the same way we did 4Lz last year... I think we're at least as crazy as he is
-
Well, last year neither he nor Brian mentioned wanting to put in the 4Lz, but we saw it in the second competition. This time, he says he wants to put in the 4A "during the season", so, by the same pattern, 4A baby at ACI? But seriously, I do think it's far more stable than we thought... I mean last year he didn't even mention 4Lz, supposedly because he wasn't sure of the success rate. Yet now he mentions 4A... It could be he's not yet satisfied with the success rate or the GOE he'd give to the jump, but I do think he's been landing it far more regularly than we thought... Or maybe he's really relaxed enough to just be honest now... we'll see, I guess...

Day 2 last year had the red UA, IIRC And I think it's more that he was so fired up, especially after Sochi, that I think he had lost sight of the fun part, to some extent. Since his main goal was the second OGM. But now he's let all of that go and can just enjoy it, without any pressure. It's exactly what I was hoping for him, after he won in Pyeongchang, so I'm really happy to see he is following up on it (it's not easy, I think, when he's so used to focusing on these things, so I'm sure there will still be kuyashii moments). However, while he doesn't go out set on breaking records, I believe a relaxed Yuzu might blow out the competition even more than an intensely focused Yuzu. We'll see... As for the ballet, I had a mental image this morning or Yuzu reading NBC & co articles about Nathan being balletic and going: "Hmm, so you like ballet... ok, I'll give you ballet..."

I think I would kill to see this... with cape... (though even without...)

I like the design, but not the colors, really... (also not sure about the lower part of the sleeve and the lacy gloves, seems a tad overkill to me lol). But something like that would be

I'm thinking maybe she throws some ideas his way and he sends her a music track, and just says: "I want this." Shae listens and then: "Yuzu... isn't that Nijinsky?" Yuzu: "No, that's Origin." Shae: "... ok, whatever you say..." lol

Hmm... I'm surprised they have just one statistic for both juniors and seniors on the ISU website... though I guess it also says something about where the sport is that a junior is above all seniors who have competed so far (not many, admittedly)

He says that mostly, there's no pain, but there is weakness - which probably means just discomfort; I remember when he was talking about his lisfranc injury, he said initially it was just a weakness, that then grew into pain; now there's still weakness so he's not pushing himself and he's still abstaining from practicing those. The implication to me, though, is that if the weakness goes away - and surely that means he does try them at times, maybe triples at least - he'll go back to practicing them. That doesn't seem to imply any anxiety or mental blocks. It's simply that his body does not allow him to go there. ETA: that's based on that one tweet in Japanese by Figure Skate Life. I haven't seen the full context of that. (What amuses me is that if his body did allow it, he might be either the skater with the most quads or be definitely up there with Nathan Only thing is he would never sacrifice everything else for the sake of quads, though. No wonder he finds the 4 mins FS more difficult than 4A. And talk about a statement to throw at your competitors lol)

Oh my God, the full Otonal... I think I might end up bawling when he skates to it in front of me...

It looks good here: https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20180831-00000055-spnannex-spo.view-000

Actually, this season might be a test... to see if he can do it without the jumps most likely to give him trouble: flip and lutz. If he can - and especially if he tames Nessie - his body might actually hold up and he could go for it... but let's enjoy it a season at a time
-
You know... I get the goodbye references, but at the same time, I get the feeling he might want to end it on his own terms... that is, this season do programs of his idols, next season do something completely his own, totally epic and leave it as his legacy... One can say he's already done that, but... it just doesn't really make sense to me for him to end his career like this... though I guess it is circular... hmm... Also, 4A might not be completely stable this year, so he might need another year to fine-tune it...

ROFL, half an hour ago, everyone was in: "Noooo, Nijinsky?!!!" meltdown, now everyone loves it lol But it does look awesome! Ah, ACI!!!! Also, the Sponichi article fixed it. it is 4T-3T in the SP. And what he literally says about the 4A is that he's been jumping it, but hasn't been able to land it yet. Although in Yuzu terms, 'oriru' = landing can also mean landing properly - no two-footing, wobbles, stepouts, etc
-
"haven't landed it perfectly yet"
-
I know, but that's what the article says: 構成は4回転サルコー、3回転半、3回転トウループ―3回転トウループ
-
This... It's a bit risky, because they're the skaters he admires, but seriously, he's probably going to blow them away and prove yet again that he's on a different level...
-
It sounds like he's skipping all Lz... SP layout: 4S 3A 3T-3T? o.O
-
LOL I'm really amused... I feel like I'm the only one actually excited about this...
-
Re-arranged Nijinsky is an important mention, I think. And this by Johnny apparently:

I think in 2015 Seimei at least was known before media day? Since he did it in ice shows. So it wasn't that big a news... (Actually, I think he did Chopin, too, in ice shows)

Salty bananas? Is that us? lol

We have no idea. We're just mezamashi-ing Nitere now...

If he has only afternoon practice, unless they do more stuff in the morning, it makes sense to have more days to do interviews. I also guess there might be even more media than last year. So if 28-29 was for the trip and jetlag, 30-31 is practice during afternoon session, then they could do interviews on the 1st and 2nd, being weekend, too. Then back to Japan on the 3rd...
