My story starts with a minor "trauma" caused by the Boston results :s_crazy: . 2016 Worlds wasn't the first competition I saw Yuzuru in, it was Sochi Olympics, and I wasn't completely new to the figure skating world then, having some - both vivid and vague - memories about various competitions that I had partially watched before Boston. For instance, I somewhat remembered the record-breaking Parisienne Walkways skate from Sochi as well as the not so clean R&J2 (that costume! I was shocked! :smile: ), but it didn't turn me into a fan of Yuzuru or figure skating in general. I believe it wasn't my time yet :) The time came two years later, when I decided to try and watch the whole competition, i.e. Worlds, for the first time in my life. Ironically, I had to miss Men's SP live but later that day I went on YT to watch the top 10 programs of the event. Yuzuru's performance was the first I came across. It happened to be my very first encounter with Chopin SP and I was absolutely mesmerized by the program and the way a young skater I had barely known anything about interpreted such a complex musical piece. "He's got to win the competition, who could possibly top this level?" I thought to myself. I was too excited by what I had just seen to watch other skaters' performances. On the day of the free skating I was again too busy to watch the event live. I remember checking out the overall result online and not believing my own eyes... Second place?! I had so many questions... Looking back at those days of confusion now, I don't have any regrets about getting into the Hanyu fandom and growing to like figure skating. I'm not sure I will continie to follow this sport after Yuzuru quits, but as long as he's in the game, I'm here for him :).

I have a better idea - 4A as the last jump! Oh, back in the golden GS days we were speculating on a program with all the jumps in the second half. With two 4As for good measure. Not hard for us to type that, you see. Of course you did I won't give that away from you, don't worry

To me It was more of a joke than a real 4A attempt. The hype about quads is reaching cosmic proportions, that's true, and it's no good for the quality of jumps and for the sport itself.

I'm foolishly hoping he himself will sacrifice any SC medal next season by opting for another GP competition.

A week ago or so he gave a vague "it hasn't been confirmed yet" kinda answer to the question about his participation in the shows. Maybe he's just having some issues with his schedule. Without any ice shows whatsoever, he loses an opportunity to try out a new program in front of the audience before going into an actual battle.

I highly doubt he would choose this particular color for a competition costume, but a girl can dream, right? :angel2: Who knows :laugh: But, i hope, for the olympics, he is going to be the most sparkling disco ball on the ice with a lot of gold sparkles That's for sure :smile:. I'd bet on something blue/dark blue and maybe black with one additional color. Just a gut feeling :)

I've always been quite far away from GS, so this one is new to me. I wonder if this was the reason why the combo decided to give in and help Yuzuru to get a new WR, while 3A got jealous and freaked out. All jumps wants special attention, you know.

Oh Shiyue is an even bigger uber for sure She "complained" once on weibo, something along the line of "I'm the one who liked Yuzu first between the two of us, but why is it you who get to have all the fun with him!" It's the so-called 'princess lift' that made Xinyu such a successful fan Lol.

I don't know about Shiyue but her partner is a confirmed Fanuy, for sure.
