Of course there was uproar, especially in 2012-2013 season when Yuzu's programmes were... questionable compared to previous one + 4S as a planned fall was criticized a lot. I think all Yuzu fans appreciate Nanami-sensei, also we shouldn't forget Tsuzuki-sensei cuz Yuzu had right technique from childhood. For now Brain was the most successful with skaters that had right technique when came to him, so I think he can be good for Boyang, will be interesting about Med, cuz she has some problematic jumps, but at least they have a year together until winning now juniors will come to seniors.

Anyway, I agree that Yuzu has now another priorities in life other than sightseeing (good for us)), so I don't see a problem here. I don't think Yuzu is less strong-minded person off-ice, so if he really wanted smth he'll go for it.

Me too. Like there're jokes on Rus forums: why care who pays for Zhenya's training even if it's RusFed, we're wasting much more money for loosy football team now (never cared about football anyway). Zhenya's skating was never my cup of tea (though I liked her debut senior FS), but she's a tough competitor - it's hard not to respect that. So it's very interesting what TCC can do with her skating (I still remember that with Yuzu the first year together was controversial in terms of programmes, but Med is going there as already a mature skater, so maybe she already has some ideas of her own). Now is a good time for change - at least one more year there will be no strong new juniors jumping to seniors and even after two years we don't know how they'll grow up (though girls are really unique, it would be a waste if smth. goes down), Alina might still grow and never was as consistent as Med (though she's sweet, I wish her the best). Also there will be new GOE rules so at first year judges might not throw +5 here and there like +3 now. And kudos to Med's PR team/manager and to her how she handled the press today. Now I really want to here some Brian's words even though I know he will be smooth and polite

I don't think in Russia an athlete has full freedom to change coach wherever they want cuz athletes are payed by RusFed or a club (I don't know full picture but not all by themselves like in North America), so at least a coach change must be agreed with RusFed so I don't believe Eteri didn't know anything. And it's not a first case when her athlete can't leave without harsh words in media.

I don't think it will influence Yuzu (but better for him not to lurk on social media too much), he and Zhenya can even have different time schedules and Brian by now surely knows how to manage his time. Though I personally would be more thrilled if Boyang could join TCC.

We'll see. The most thing that Mikhail needs is stability in landings. I don't know if short-term work can give him that, but at least it will not hurt.

I think it's not that simple. First of all RusFed will not let her go that easily (I think there's some rule about 2 years quarantine), yes she can win Nats in another country more easily but her scores can drop if she will not represent a strong Fed (sadly that's how it still works in FS), also I believe she will still have some income from the Fed as part of the Rus team even if she will train outside of Russia.

I don't like it at all. Yes, there are about 5 guys with different types of quads now, but all the others with "only" 4T/4S will be reduced to maximum one or two quads in FS instead of 2-3. I think quads BV is enough reward for learning more types, if a skater wants to get to the top and feels he can add a new quad he will do it without these rule - cuz for young skaters it's the shortest way to the top for now.

I agree. It's not like there's now a big line of guys ready to jump many type of quads... And I prefer good 4T/4S any day to poor 4F/4Lz About GOE change. I'm OK if a fallen quad will cost less than good triple but about +5 GOE Idk... too much room for manipulating with the scores. I was pleasantly surprised when Nathan's score didn't go through the roof in the WC SP and Mika with one quad got almost the same scores (and rightfully so if you compare the quality). So you can reward quality with nowadays system if you want. It's not the system that makes the final score it's the judges.

Oh, wow, if Yuzu will still skate I'm definitely in (despite all the issues with podiums, medals etc. my overall trip to Marseilles was great)
