  1. I have resigned myself to the 2020-21 figure skating season being a total washout, but I am hoping and praying that we will have a widely distributed effective vaccine for Covid-19 soon enough so that we are able to have a normal 2021-22 figure skating season starting with the Autumn Classic International in September 2021 and that we satellites will be able to meet up with each other again whenever and wherever Yuzu is skating.
  2. What about no costume at all? Just his dance belt thong and skates? (Just try and un-see that image.)
  3. Here is the full video of Yuzu introducing Javier Fernandez and his 2014 GPF Gala exhibition performance. And this is a fan cam of Javi introducing Yuzu for his 2014 GPF Gala exhibition performance. Seeing Yuzu and Javi together reminded me of this nostalgic candid fan cam video of Yuzu and Javi with Brian at their first competition (2012 Finlandia Trophy) together under the same coach. Check out how sleepy and bored everyone looks, especially Brian. Yuzu looking very cute.
  4. Yes, that appears to be the case. I have voted on three separate days whenever I went back to check on the results. There must be some very patient fans sitting there recycling the page, waiting for it to load and re-voting continuously.
  5. Now it's Yuzu 64.28% and Shoma 31.82%. Yuzu has lost 0.33% and Shoma has gained 0.42% in the last hour or so! Come on Fanyus get back in the fight and regain those fractions of percentages!
  6. I just went back to check the results so far and Yuzu is continuing to widen his lead with 64.61% – over twice the votes of second-place Shoma Uno who presently has 31.4%. In waaaaayyy distant third-place is popular ballplayer Shohei Ohtani with a meager 1.41%. Everyone else has less than 1% each.
  7. When I asked, “Alexa, who is Yuzuru Hanyu?” the reply was: “According to Wikipedia, Yuzuru Hanyu is a Japanese figure skater who competes in the men’s singles discipline. He is a two-time Olympic champion, a two-time world champion, four-time Grand Prix final champion, a Four Continents champion, 2010 junior champion, 2009-2010 Junior Grand Prix Final champion and four-time national champion.”
  8. Yes, just ask the question in the language you usually use when using Alexa. I am very interested in what she says to the questions: “Alexa, who is your favourite figure skater?” and “Alexa, who is your favourite male figure skater?”
  9. That’s strange – is it only Canadian Alexa that replies with Yuzuru Hanyu? Each country must have a different answer for this question because when I asked, “Alexa, who is your favourite male figure skater?” the reply was: “I like Kurt Browning.” @barbara, I think you need to give your Alexa a good shake!
  10. It looks like Amazon Echo’s Alexa is a Fanyu. If you ask, “Alexa, who is your favourite figure skater?” Alexa will answer: “It’s all about Yuzuru Hanyu” or “I love Yuzuru Hanyu”
  11. Fanyus have been busy. Results when I voted: Yuzuru Hanyu 48.68% Shoma Uno 45.27%
  12. I hope everyone realizes that I was not making any personal judgment regarding Yuzu's handwriting. I wouldn't know whether it was good, bad or average since I do not know how to write Japanese and Chinese characters. I was just pointing out Yuzu's own assessment of his handwriting on one occasion because I thought it was amusing and apropos to @yuzuangel's post.
  13. Yuzu would agree with that comment. Remember that 100 days for recovery to PeongChang TV program that was broadcast on or about April 27, 2018 (around 25 1/2 minutes long)? At the 7 minutes 37 seconds point of the video, Yuzu is showing his notebooks in which he has recorded his performances and in particular, he throws open the page that he wrote on October 26, 2012 following his defeat to Takahiko Kozuka at Skate America in which he has written: "(I will) ABSOLUTELY WIN." He wrote this because he was kuyashi because of the loss. Yuzu himself prefaced the showing of that page with a laugh and saying, "Ji ga kitana (kitanai)" which literally translates to "handwriting is dirty" meaning his "handwriting is bad." Edit: I should probably change the opening line to read “Yuzu may agree with that comment” because his assessment of his handwriting as “dirty” (bad) may have been restricted to the October 26, 2012 entry. Judging by the care with which he was writing the Citizen message, he may have thought that this handwriting was done well.
  14. Unless it specifically states that it is made of yellow or white gold or sterling silver, all watches, even if they cost over $1,000 USD, are made of stainless steel. They may appear to be gold in colour, but this is just gold coloured stainless steel. For example, the Yuzu collaborative watch that has been the subject of much recent discussion is made of two-tone stainless steel. The reason why it costs over $1,000 USD is because it is a limited edition, may have a couple of tiny diamonds in it and most importantly, it is endorsed by Yuzu and has his autograph etched on the back. With a luxury watch like a men's Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust in a two-tone configuration, it will specifically state that it is made of polished stainless steel and yellow gold. Even with this luxury watch costing $15,650 CAD ($11,500 USD), the part that looks "silver" is polished stainless steel and the amount of real gold used in it is minimal and confined to the bevel on the case. I believe that the two-tone bracelet is stainless steel. Less expensive watches may contain nickel in the metal that is used for the back of the case and bracelet as @Old Cat Lady has stated. I do not know. Although I have always liked watches, I have never had a Citizen watch before Yuzu became a brand ambassador in August, 2019. Since then, I have been collecting Citizen watches as well as purchasing them for my wife and as gifts. Although Citizen does make watches that require replacement batteries, it is best known for its patented "Eco-Drive" system. "Eco-Drive" watches never require a battery because they are powered by light – any light, and not just solar light. Once they are fully charged, they are good for 6-9 months even if they are kept in a dark drawer. If you are not wearing them, you can just leave them on the windowsill.
  15. Regarding the Citizen Yuzuru Hanyu collaboration watch sale, the price per watch is 6880 yuan and it appears to be a limited edition with a total of 1207 watches for sale. To put it into perspective and to see another example of Hanyuconomy at work, I did some calculations and this limited run will generate gross sales amounting to the following: 6880 yuan × 1207 watches = 8,304,160 yuan Which converts to: $1,216,000 USD $1,630,000 CAD €1,044,275 ¥128,250,000 Edit: To put this into further perspective and to understand Yuzu's selling power, limited edition Citizen watches without Yuzu's endorsement are available months and years after they are introduced to the market. All Citizen watches connected with Yuzu sell out as soon as they are put on sale and bring immediate profit to Citizen.
  16. We will reach 6000 pages before we get 6000 members. We are at 5983 pages so we only need 17 more pages to reach 6000 pages. We currently have 5595 members and still need 405 more in order to reach 6000 members. Although it would be awesome to hit 6000 pages and 6000 members on the same date!
  17. Welcome! This friendly Planet was created in direct response to the toxic anti-Yuzu environment of Golden Skate. Many thanks to the original administrators, moderators and others who created our community!
  18. I am glad to see that Ghislain Briand has finally been listed in Wikipedia. When I previously looked, there was no reference to Ghislain in Wikipedia. He has been and continues to be an important part of figure skating history and deserves to be recognized. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghislain_Briand
  19. Although she may no longer be the President of the JSF, I am sure that Seiko Hashimoto still has her claws in the JSF and is continuing with her anti-Yuzu influence behind the scenes. She has always hated Yuzu. She has always been a fan of and in love/lust with Daisuke Takahashi. In 2014 after the Sochi Olympics, there was a brief scandal when she was photographed and a story came out that she was sexually harassing Daisuke Takahashi by forcing kisses on him at a party despite his obvious efforts to resist her.
  20. Just found this video – has it been previously posted? Who will land the first Quad Axel (4.5R)? | Hanyu's Thesis and Determination | The Next Big Jump Edit: Is there some significance to my post being the number “666” which is called “The Number of the Beast” in The New Testament and the subject of the post and video being The Quad Axel?
  21. After everyone else’s comprehensive and sometimes eloquent comments regarding Yuzu’s well reasoned and wise decision to withdraw from the GP series this season, the only thing I can add is that he has proven once again that he is not just a pretty face and history’s greatest figure skater.
  22. Thank you @sweetwater! Exactly the clips I was thinking of but couldn’t find.
  23. Sorry, I can’t find it. Can some other kind satellite find the video or reference where Yuzu said that he would be a cat if he was an animal?
  24. I have been buying and wearing Citizen watches since Yuzu became the face of Citizen China in August 2019 and I have to say that my wrist looks a lot more beautiful!
