river Posted February 16, 2022 Share Posted February 16, 2022 I don't follow any other Olympic sports very closely, but I couldn't help but notice a parallel to figure skating while casually watching women's big air snowboarding. Reira Iwabuchi, a Japanese snowboarder, went for a trick no woman has landed before (while dealing with an injury that happened during the Olympics) and just barely missed it. She finished fourth, but her competitors were raving about what a big deal it was that anyone had even tried what she did. Sound familiar to anyone else?
