Yuma did it again confidently in the face of technical panel. He isn’t going to fix it as long as he is rewarded for it. We all have seen how this movie ends several times Hide contents https://twitter.com/intelligentYuzu/status/1462258441074864129 That’s precisely how Uno and the Tutberidze flooper-girls jump their supposed Lutzes.

In all of his career, he had to compete with skaters who got very high unfair scores, Patrick (Chanflation), Shoma, Nathan, etc…. I agree! I feel sorry for Shun Sato. It sounds really elusive to me how JSF/ISU picks their favorites. I didn't follow Yuzu in his early days, but I guess it is just a history repeating itself.

I’m grateful that Yuzu was almost never overscored, one of the major factors on his steady improvements in my opinion, along with competing against Patrick (who was actually booed for being overscored) but with top tier skating skills. Imo, Patrick was the key rival (actually the only true rival) in Yuzu's career, trying to beat him but without JSF support.
November 21, 20214 yr Yes it's interesting to see how much has changed in skating since the 2014 Olympic buildup. As has been pointed out, Yuzu had to steadily get better and improve BOTH his PCs and technical to beat PC. Granted, it was because of his tech that he did beat PC in the end for the OGM, but he was not given candy points by the judges or JSF until that point. Have you seen how low his PCs were at 2012 worlds?? I feel that especially from 2015-onwards he's had to fight for every point. I will forever be bitter about how underscored his FS at 2017 Worlds was.... Now that Yuma has practically debuted during an Olympic season (not counting last season since most top skaters couldn't compete with each other) it feels like the judges and JSF are giving him PCs and GOES like candy. How can he improve when he doesn't need to? His scores make it seem like he's practically perfect already when that isn't true. It's not fair to him or to his nearest rivals (Shun).
