  1. I see some others' reports, maybe try it on mobile instead of website.
  2. He is invited in the Gala, the Gala list is published already. People asked JOC if Yuzu will accep the offer and join the gala, JOC is not sure/ nothing to tell.
  3. I was crying when I read Nobu's message. I think I can only recover from it if Yuzuru moves on and finds meaning in this misfortune when he looks back.
  4. Hahaha, we are the FAWNING FANS! So true.
  5. I changed my mind after knowing there will only be one OP in the main rink before 8 Feb, which is on 5th. If we are not going to see Yuzu tomorrow... then he will only have one time to practice on the main rink, which is right before the SP on 8th. I am getting anxious now.
  6. Hahaha, since he is not going to Team event, I reset my expectation on 5th Feb to see him! I will just chill out for these two days, before the storm comes in.
  7. Wow, so proud of all the Fanyus who voiced out. How I wish we could also protect Yuzu from unfair scoring !
  8. In a fair world, nobody could beat Yuzu's two clean skates with 4A (IMO even without 4A), Yuzu knows about it. If he nails it but still loses to Nathan, it will just show how ridiculous the scoring system is right now. To me, all I care about is if Yuzu could be satisfied about himself and happy. These four years have been pretty tough for Yuzu, mentally and physically. I can't even imagine how could he keep challenging his physical limits while enduring injuries after injuries, let alone the enormous mental pressure to fight on two grounds, the unknown 4A and the unfair competitions. Skating god, please, protect him and give him what he deserves.
  9. So glad you find your passion in these two things. I am actually a PhD in international relations . My love for Yuzu leads me to figure skating world, which turns out to be an interesting area to watch in terms of international politics. I know there is politics in sports, but I guess following figure skating closely really shows me how it works. Just a recent example, (to my ignorance), I just knew the Olympic fs schedule is tailored to American audience, even at the cost of the convenience of the athletes. But in my ideal mind, sports should be the purist place for human being to challenge its limit and we should all protect the athletes who represent us to challenge the human limit. But of course, I was too naive.
  10. Hey guys, the Olympic schedule is finally finalized. Here is the schedule for us, in Beijing time: ,Team Men Short: 4 Feb, 09:55-14:55 Team Men Free: 6 Feb, 09:30-12:40 Men Short: 8 Feb, 09:15-13:30 Men Free: 10 Feb, 09:30-13:40 Other schedule can be found here Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Competition Schedule
  11. Indeed! I somehow have an impression that Nathan is not that unpopular in Russia. But never mind, as long as Yuzu is the first.
  12. Hahaha, after seeing who are at the end of the list, I am sure fellow fanyus did their job. (My guess the editor of the poll is a big fanyu by putting the downvote function along with the upvote)
  13. I heard Yuzu trains at late night, can be 2am or 3 am in Sendai, because the rink is usually occupied during the day and evening. Is that true? I just can't imagine how hard it is to train in late night and in cold winter. But maybe a silver lining is he can have real time conversation with TCC.
  14. I was thinking about it. Is there any psychological factor contributing to it? Why Yuzu tends to underperform in Nathan's presence while Nathan tends to outperform in Yuzu's presence? is it the mentality of "I can't afford making any mistake" when facing Nathan that actually plays a negative role? I think Yuzu needs a psychological "breakthrough" when face Nathan again in Olympics after 4 consecutive defeat to Nathan. Maybe 4A is the psychological breakthrough that Yuzu needs and he knows it. Pyschological factor plays a huge huge role in the Olympics. I read a reddit post discussing whether Yuzu or Nathan have more pressure. Majority of them vote for Nathan, they think he is so hyped for the OGM by US media and this is his best chance for OGM, while Yuzu has had two, this one is just an add-on. I kinda disagree, Yuzu has huge pressure and mental challenge in his own way.
  15. I have seen this as well. Based on the rule of quarantine for 7 days after a competition, I think a person can only watch one competition. There is so much effort/sacrifice to make for that one competition. And the Olympic overlaps with Chinese New Year, it means more sacrifice than usual. I am sure if it is open to the public, a lot of cfanyus would make such sacrifice. However, since it is arranged, this basically means an inconvenient assignment for non-fans. And since Tianjin, the city neighboring to Beijing has Omicron cases, I really think the most likely case in the end is without any audience. I mean, really, what's the point to have thousands of arranged audience, which is logistically risky and costly for Covid prevention, requring huge efforts both from the organizers and the audience, while most of the audience are not even fans of the sports (not only figure skating, the same apply to speed skating, ice hockey..) .
  16. Same here, let's just make some room for more rant after Nathan gets 350 at USNats tomorrow. This is what I tell myself. 1. No matter what will happen in Olympics, it will only strengthen instead of hurt his legacy. 2. Though having suffered tremendously both physically and mentally, Yuzu is probably one of the wisest human being I ever know, he can always see things in a dialectical way. He has the ability to turn something bad into good. I have full trust in his wisdom. 3. He is so beloved and he knows it. Though scores mean a lot, our collective love also mean a lot to him. He is never alone in his journey. This month won't be easy for Yuzu and for us. Let's hug each other, pray together and wish Yuzu earn the result he truly deserves.
  17. Of course, he should have found that mental comfort. Imagine you prove yourself right over and over again on your smart strategies, maximize BV, while hitting the minimum for a good GOE and PCS in front of the judges. The mentality of knowing that as long as I don't make big mistake I will win (which means you have control over the result) is a huge plus going into a competition. This is the kind of confidence that Yuzu once had before PC.
  18. Hey Guys, I have just sent my postcards to Yuzu through the Olympic organizing committee. As I said, this is the only way Chinese fanyus can do for Yuzu now, so we are working very hard on the postcards. If any of you want to send a message to Yuzu, please send a private message to me (including your country, your name, and your message (pls, not too long, either in English or Japanese)) by 10 Jan. I will write it for you and send it to Yuzu. I hope Yuzu can feel the Love From All Over the World.
  19. This is way tooooo optimistic. Chinese Fanyus are all crying inside right now, because we know the only thing that we can support him is to write postcards. There is no chance for real hardcore fanyus to be in the venue. I am sure many people in the venue know Yuzu is a star, but really, that's it. The best case I can think of is to have some figure skating experts guide the audience. But considering there are already too many things for organizers to worry about for Covid prevention (the audience, if any, need to be isolated and quarantined in some ways, there is huge logistics around it), I wonder if there is any spare capacity/mentality for it.
  20. Need some recommendation here. As discussed in previous posts, the current ticket situation is very likely to be arranged tickets, though there is always a possibility of no audience if the COVID situation deteriorates. The exact composition and number of audience in figure skating competition is unknown (as far as I know, they can be students, people related to sponsors, etc), but majority of them are for sure not figure skating fans. This will be an unprecedented situation for Yuzu. It's even not like what he experienced in Sochi Olympics where fans were most likely figure skating fans. I am pretty sure no matter who the audience is, they will be polite and respectful, but the atmosphere can be very unexpected, e.g. clap when unexpected, no clap when expected. The chemistry can be strange. Many Chinese fanyus are concerned about the potential impact on Yuzu and really hope Yuzu be mentally prepared for this, especially considering he is used to home crowd everywhere he goes these years. Even for “no audience”, he has had the experience in 21WC, but not for arranged audience. Sometimes win/lose is just a matter of a second for trivial things. People are still waiting for official announcement, but I am afraid it may be too late to know (my personal judgment is that officials still “wait and see” over the Covid situation to make a decision between arranged and no audience). Is there any way that can make Yuzu be aware of this situation? I am thinking of his coaching team in TCC, any of them are frequent social media user? Maybe the team can factor this into consideration when they make plans, e.g. whether to join team event. Or any other thought?
  21. Though the information is not confirmed, Chinese fanyus are really worried. Figure skating is not popular in general public in China at all. Arranged tickets basically mean that most of the audience are not figure skating fans and have little to none knowledge about figure skating. I wonder how many audience understand what 4A is. In such case, I don't think Yuzu will have bigger ovation which he always has (though many people have heard of Yuzu, but that's it, also the factor that he is a Japanese, which may make general public hesitant to give exceptional ovation). And as Yuzu is a very sensitive person and can always feel the reaction from the audience, I really wish he could use the Team event to get used to such awkward audience situation. Let's just wait for the final tickets arrangement decision. No matter what, I really wish Yuzu could be mentally prepared for it, which will be very different from his previous two Olympics.
  22. I really wonder if Yuzu has ever been to a private party, say a new year party. This makes me remember an interview by Tracey, she said Yuzu limits himself to talk to only a limited number of people (even in Canada, obviously he can't really go out in Japan), which he has to, he always puts stating first. His level of concentration and self-discipline is beyond this world. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  23. Yuzu is going to propose to his first love in Olympics, under the witness of the entire universe, in a most romantic way ever... Nessie, you'd better say "yes".
  24. I have thought about his "he needs 4A to win an Olympics" for all day. I can understand it from the point that he has an emotional attachment to 4A, if not for 4A, there will not be this Olympics for him. By saying "he needs 4A to win an Olympics", he links his motivation to win BJ Olympics (which did not exist before) attached to his strongest motivation 4A. And 4A could bring higher marks if it is done (though 12.5 BV is inhumanly low) , so it can realize his belief that he can win if he is clean no matter what other skaters do. But it seems very risky, no 4A, no OGM, if these two are attached. How realistic a GOE+ 4A can be ready in just one month, I highly doubt it. I do hope Yuzu has back-up plans, in case 4A does not come in shape before it is due. I am worried, because I really don't want to see him Kuyashi after Olympics. But I think I just need to be relaxed by simply supporting him for his intuition, his choice and accepting whatever results along with him.
  25. Hey guys, I feel much relieved after reading several of your posts on the coming 4A tonight!!! Thank you all very much. Indeed, though the chance of 4A landing is little tonight, it definitely means something positive for Yuzu. Finger crossed for his safe practice and safe competition. No injury is the priority. And we will know if he will go to Olympics tonight.
