I love this anime; it's such a good introduction to figure skating for so many. It doesn't just show what the Grand Prix is, but also the struggles with making a program,  insecurity, etc.

It also shows a lot of the FS culture, with people bringing flags from all countries, throwing presents on the ice and having a banquet, for instance. 

 

The characters are great, and they go beyond the stereotype; The loud-mouth is not the American for example.  We also get to see people from countries that rarely if ever feature in anime (Kazakhstan, Thailand) as well as a loving relationship between two men.

 

Lots of the skaters love it too and as we saw on the GPF, it's already part of the FS culture

Oh, I believe this is from the last FaOI in Niigata... There was so many beautiful pics from that show ... lots of them are in the FaOI thread ...

I think that's a hoax. 28th Dec is Spanish April's Fools Day, so don't trust anything from that day lol
