After Beijing's ladies events I really thought the depth of the consequences of ISU's lack of accountability was in full display for all to see. I think most older times were very aware of how terrible 2019 comps' judging was, and its clear influence on Yuzu, so these past few years have been a mounting / building of frustration. But Ice Dance, Pairs and Women's have a terrible history of their own, especially the latter. Not everything has been bad tho! 4CC 2020, JNats last couple of years (debuting Rondo )... I'm just happy we had that. But is very claustrophobic for an athlete of Yuzu's caliber to be contained like this and be shown the door consistently for years. Anyway, of course, fans can process things at their own pace, just surprised by the surprise lol Excited to see more stuff like Raison from Yuzu from now on, more wildness, more experimentation, less constraint of fs competitions - praying he re-incorporates spirals to his choreos hehe Meanwhile, I will be here cursing Fuji TV out.

The rivalry that kick started one of the greatest eras of men’s figure skating we’ve seen! I’m a little careful in talking about PChiddy with other fanyus because I know he was not a pleasant competitor, to say the least, but back then he was the one that made me tune in to watch the discipline and meet Yuzu in the first place. Never caring too much about sportsman pleasantry, but still adamant in being a more complete skater and to break barriers about the sports’ stereotypes (he was concerned about the image of asian men in the sport once). So, I agree with you! LOL On all accounts, especially in the comparison with other skaters that we expected would say better things later on - PChiddy was particularly nice with his remarks on Yuzu around Beijing. It might be that they just took a small message from him via text or so, but I’m excited about the fact they recognize his role as Yuzu’s rival and they manage to reach out to him (I think). Anyway! This whole week feels like the craziest fanyu tribute party! LOL

Adding, the axelwithwings team have a plan (no promises) to translate the specials coming today and tomorrow. Is A LOT of work, so much footage, Yuzu is naturally wordy, and they are all kinda long… So reiterating, if you can donate please do so!

Yuzu’s newer declarations feel very validating, feels very adult, and it gives me peace that he is actively taking control back over the narrative they attempted to do about his career and skating. I’m very proud of him - couldn’t imagine that I could get any more, here we are. Now waiting for the full interview.
