Guys I've been trying to catch up with this thread for the past 3days but my gap went from 10 pages to 24 HOW????😅💀 And I gave a look at the calender and WTFFF feels not even olys were so crammed with content, why everything happening all at once, I wasn't ready, this would have been drought season but now we're getting flooded, why can't jpn media schedule some things in different days I'll have maybe a couple hours to go for groceries (thankfully at an hour when I won't be melting under the sun) but that's itand yet, I'm happy Also since I'm a greedy fanyu, I still wanna jpn media to release MORE. They have at least 15years of hidden content stashed somewhere. If HongKong fed can restore pics and vids from novice era, so can they!😤 Though, maybe, plz wait for the drought to hit, cuz at some point it will, but we have no idea when and how long (which I guess it's a cue for me to enjoy being flooded and stop complaining...but really I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed here) Anyway I hope my favourite pro-athlete Zuzu is enjoying wherever he is and whatever he's doing. Can't believe we're seeing him live again tomorrow Love you all, dear satellites! *hugs*

That is not surprising all in all, it was his original plan all along, it was already a miracle we got 4extra years. And those years were maybe the toughest for him, both mentally and physically. However cursed 2014-15, Boston and nhk17 were, he really endured so much in the past quad. Surrounded by people that kept belittling him, telling him he wasn't good enough. Plus the pandemic. Plus at least 3 big injuries, two in the span of a few months. If he's happy leaving now, leaving behind the ISU and all they stand for, then it's simply the right thing. He loved competing, and you bet he still loves challenges, but no one of his main competitors in the past 4 years has been a worthy opponent (by their own choices, or those of the judges) Good riddance! And welcome pro-Zu! (But I still wanna see Rondo again!)

Since he's turning pro, it means he's probably gonna skate more in shows and such! Do things more freely I know we may have wished for something different, but still, remember the 1st law of thermodynamics, conservation of energy: nothing is destroyed, it just changes

HEY HE'S LEAVING THE FRIGGIN ISU FOR GOOD!!!!! we may be sad for some things, but this is certainly worth celebrating! F*ck them!
-
But good for him to still wanting to try Nessie as a pro😁 There used to be comps for pro skaters once upon a time👀 maybe he'll create his own pro league lol (wishful thinking)
-
He said he's gonna turn pro. Those competing are called amateur
-
I keep hearing pro-athlete, which means no comps? Or??
-
He's there!!!!

Both live QQ have same channel with Miki, but one is kinda freezing for me

we're gonna have a dedicate thread for the presscon or just posting everything here? they'll better offer a livestreaming of the whole thing, agonizing waiting for tweets is a lot worse than wathcing (even with the caveat of not understanding one word. At least I can busy myself looking at Zuzu's expression) the calmer part of my brain has been on and off throught the day, but trying to stay positive whatever will come! (*inserts ! to look more upbeat than she really feels* LMAOOO) great choice! I'm not that strong, but I take it as a good thing that the unfamous article hasn't actually landed on my TL, only the reaction to it (took the chance to block those scums. Should have done it after the Beijing supposed DT mess) I'm actually tearing up a bit at this. At a media being respectful. It should be a given, but we've seen that, for some outlets, even this is too much of a tall order. Anyway, grateful to see that not all media chose to be scums in the name of clicks I mean, news about r. aren't necessarily "negative" but ngl, once I had gotten into the post-FaOI mindset of "another comp season yay!" it's kinda hard to backtrack, no matter how much I still hate the idea of ISU making money out of Yuzu and competition probably meaning more scoring s*itshow at his expeses... no matter how the thought of Zu giving all of them an unexpected middle finger pleases me (a lot) I've thought it over. In part it's because I wish Yuzuru's last comp to be one with audience cheering loudly every single moment of his performance.... which is what he couldn't have in the past 2 years, because no matter the half-capacity in Jpn comps (claps only), or Beijing sparse attendees supplying the numers with enthusiasm, a full house allowed to scream their lungs out still hits different. I want Yuzu to feel that thrill, to be carried by it And another part is because after r. things will change, in terms of our own routine, not only Yuzuru's. The expected schedule of his appearance, the place, the how... all of those had settled through the years into some kind of a familiar, comforting routine (even with all the pandemic &injuries disruptions we got lately, one more reason why I wished for one normal season before seeing him go start a new journey). We'll -- I'll -- need to reframe this kind of expectations. Though, maybe, if Yuzuru were to do more shows, we might even end seeing him more then these past few seasons... So, if he is really r., I hope he's also gonna give us a hint about a CiONTU 2.0 (possibly world tour, so int fans have actual chance to watch him live) so we won't spend months wondering and waiting Zuzu please have mercy on us and water us sometimes! LOL, these kinds of thoughts are how I'm barganing. Still, I really am confuses, As far as we know, Yuzuru had been already thinking about the presscon around - or shortly after - the July the 1st JSF announcement already. Last FaOI stop was on June 26th. Even with the unpredictable tragic fact on July 8th, I'm curious about the reason why this presscon is happening now (had it been called in August, I would have easily believed it was media day, but...it's July. And we still don't have GP assignments even, to give us clues) yeah, I'm confused too, because to me some things just don't add up. But maybe they'll make sense after Zuzu will tell us. No matter how much I think I get him, he's still able to surprise me (and then, in hindsight, I'd realize he had actually been dropping hints all along) well, I guess we'll know everything in a few hours(but now gotta go to sleep)

That's why what I'm most worried about, right now, is that something happened this past few weeks to radically change everything 😣 idk, I've seen speculations that he may have been waiting to call for this presscon after FaOI and GP assignments, but then ISU made a mess, the former JpnPM was killed and so he delayed it... But in FaOI Yuzuru had talked about 4A, which can only be officially acknowledged in ISU competitions, and he was no doubt very much still loving FS, so it felt that his motivation to carry on was strong. If he is really r. (we'll know in less than 24h), the one thing I need to know is that it is truly what he wants, not what whatever new circumstances forced him to do. (It helps knowing that Yuzuru doesn't wishes to leave fs entirely. Not like Patrick who got into real estate or TessaV. who happily kissed goodbye to her skates the moment she and Scott were done with their thank you tour😅) This is so dramatic and over the top, spelling such doom&gloom😅😅 (well, for ISU&FS finances, the day Zuzu decides he's finally done with them would indeed be doom&gloom) An aside, I'm wondering why announcement came from Sirious team (afaik more of a legal team working behind the scene), rather than ANA which should be Zuzu's "employer" and acted as spokesperson for him in the past, at times. Anyone remembers who previously issued his press con statement in Beijing or e.g. in early 2016 when it was about the dating rumours? I think instead previous statements of WD from GPseries in 2020-21 or e.g. Nationals or WC all came through JSF For sure must be something big enough to be done in Tokyo... I guess the choice of location is so not to inconvenience the media interested in covering it. Could be arranged in Sendai too, but it's easier for one person to travel to Tokyo than for dozens of networks&press, and it's something Yuzuru would be mindful of, IMO

Guys I'm not gonna be helpful in talking sense and keeping calm, just here to scream a bit because WTF IS HAPPENING???? Ok done, at some point the calmer part of my brain will catch up. But rn I'm just kinda shell shocked 😅
