Yep. This has to be framed and saved forever. The overall resonance on Twitter is jaw dropping. Fact: Yuzu-related posts have brought more likes, retweets and attention to Laureus' Twitter page than the entire rest together... Plus: "a message from the main man himself"... It would be funny, if the main man himself didn't appear tomorrow However, I hope they don't put him under pressure too much. Awards are great, but the Comeback King has another Mars mission in front of him... Can't believe that we celebrate the anniversary already. Incredible how time flies. Omedeto, Yuzu!!

I wouldn't be surprised at all, if his biggest fanclub travelled all the way through blizzards and snowstorms to feature him again: https://mobile.twitter.com/olympicchannel/status/1096829582047629315 Olympic Channel always has this perfect timing and feeling how to please Fanyus
-
Tbh I don't think that Javi will travel to all the way to Saitama unless Brian forces him to be there as Yuzu's personal motivation booster. In that case the organizers might make an exception and give him an accreditation card with the label "MASCOT" so that he's allowed to enter the rinkside

I guess, Yuzu's mood barometer for his Worlds FS in Saitama looks something like this (list of negative and positive influence factors):
-
Same thought. It's been quite a while, but it never gets old. I really love to watch this playful and entertaining Yuzu! He makes everything look so easy peasy in this program and his dorky smile is everything. It's a shame that many people only remember a disappointing men's event in Sotchi. This SP shouldn't be overshadowed by negative memories... I know, I really should ignore comments like this one, but the reasoning of some people just fascinates me #Footnote: I won't delete my channel.

I'll do my best

It's ready!! My preview clip for Worlds in Saitama!! #Sidenote: This video was originally intended to be a preview for the Grand Prix Final in Vancouver, but right after Yuzu's injury at Rostelecom and his likely withdrawal I just couldn't bring it over my heart to cut him out... So I decided to recycle the old material and add some new touches like the profile pics. 4CC turned a few things upside down this weekend, but I hope it was worth the long wait

First interview in Saitama [three days before SP]:
-
According to this tweet the judging panel for the men's event at Worlds looks as follows: CAN CHN TPE CRO CZE FRA GEO ISR MEX POL ESP SUI TUR I don't know, who will be sitting in the technical panel. Looking at 4CC and all the questionable calls... this seems to be not less important...

I wonder in which language they communicate. Doubt that Chinese or Japanese work? So English maybe? If TCC is overcrowded, they may consider to join forces and build the "YuBo"-quality-skating-learning-and-doing-alliance Would be fun to watch.

In Germany the Laureus Award will be aired/streamed live on monday, 18th February on Skysport.de for free. No idea, if Yuzu will be there, but if you need footage, I could try to record and share it
-
Yuzu might intimidate the bouncer with his death stare in the entrance hall, if he doesn't let him in, but let's be honest: Yuzuru Hanyu and Casino is a veeery spicy and dangerous combination. I mean: he really hates to lose...
-
It's strange, but I can't worry about the free. Yet. Way too many question marks at this point. (Sweat will come after the first public practice for sure ) There's one thing that would be really great: Finally some backstage footage with Yuzu and Jason at Worlds. They share the same practice rink everyday, but we've barely seen them interacting since Jason's arrival at TCC (apart from some group pics). I was so happy to hear in Meryl's interview that they have an eye on each other in practice and talk about skating stuff after the sessions. It would be awesome, if both participated in this year's FaOI tour

When you update Wikipedia tables and other statistics, you always find something that makes you chuckle. Sure, statistics don't win any competitions, but I'm totally relaxed before Saitama now

I bet, Team Cricket gives 100% even in a casual pillow fight {...waiting for Joseph's TCC pajama party InstaStory...} I'd like to say THANK YOU to everyone who pleased us with so many great translations, subs and videolinks over the last few days. I know how much time and sweat it takes to watch, write and rewatch all the raw content. You really sweetened my week. ARIGATO GOZAIMASHITA!!

To be honest, I'm okay with every spin, transition and sequence of his COR performance minus that infamous 'butt'-spin (the official name is A-spin, if I remember correctly). Beat me, but this position looks so unaesthetic and sinful to me...

Same thought. When Laureus announced the nominees some weeks ago, the global attention was pretty low at the beginning. So I decided to support Yuzu with a tweet. But when I see the current "invasion", I really feel sorry for the other contenders, who went through incredible pain and hard times as well... I'm okay with the support for Yuzu, but it's disrespectful to send "Yuzu!!"-messages to other nominees imo. I agree with all your thoughts that figure skating as a smaller sport lives through discussions on the internet, not that much in everyday life. That leads to such clickbait phenomenons as we can witness here with Laureus. However, even within the skating universe Yuzu and his fanbase strike out in many ways. The Pooh rain ritual, the recurring ticket bloodbaths before competitions, the mass of Yuzu related posts on SM everyday, the photo exhibitions, advertisement and merchandising, the Olympic parades with 100,000 of visitors... I think, Dick Button got mighty close, why Yuzu is so special and popular: It's true that an error-filled program leaves a bittersweet taste, no matter how difficult the technical content and overall quality of your skating is. Mistakes are not champion-like. Figure skating is currently in a tricky situation: It would be disappointing to lower the difficulty, but the current level is sky-high for 99% of the active skaters and clean free skates are very rare miracles. Not to mention programs with a total package and perfect balance of athletism and artistry. At the moment Yuzu comes closest to this ideal, especially in his short programs (last jump error in a SP: 20.10.2017). An ideal skater unites five types of artists in one person: 1. athlete 2. dancer/musician 3. model 4. painter/illustrator 5. author/storyteller Yuzu hits most of these aspects. He's technically very strong, has a sublime musicality and 'movement culture', looks great on the ice with striking costumes, creates memorable images and tells stories with his skating. Most skaters have their technical arsenal and try to build a program around it. With Yuzu it's other way round. The global concept, motive and message have top priority and the technical elements are implemented into the choreography as artistic highlights and touches. They are not isolated, there's no break in his programs. It's one big story. That's why he can reach so many people's heart.

@Interspectator from GS has posted a trantranslation of the NHK documentary. Thank you very much for this huge effort. Part I: Part II: Part III:

After quite a long break Fanyus have not forgotten about Laureus. Obviously: https://mobile.twitter.com/LaureusSport/status/1090555037519171584 This tweet is just 4 hours old and it's flooded with comments already. Crazy stuff
-
Wouldn't be too worried about that, Javi. I'm sure you got an XXL street sign with extra flourish on Yuzu's skating road...
-
I've looked it up to make sure: https://www.isu.org/figure-skating/rules/fsk-regulations-rules [page 16] "Jump sequences are evaluated as one unit by adding the Base Values of the two jumps, multiplying the result by 0.8 and applying the GOE of the jump with the higher numerical value. The factored Base Value of the jump sequence will be rounded to two decimal places." So a sequence receives 80% of the base value of both jumps. BV 4T+3A+SEQ with 10% bonus: (9.5 + 8) × 0.8 × 1.1 = 15.4 #Sidenote: Even the 80% factoring is nonsense imo. It's hard to believe that the difficulty of a solo 4T and 3A with gliding and crossovers and breakfast inbetween is 8 points higher (GOE included) than a 4T+3A sequence. Credits to Yuzu that he does it anyway.
-
I do believe that he sticks with the 4T+3A sequence... At the moment it's his hardest jump element and most impressive weapon that nobody else can offer. It could leave a key impact on the judges, if he landed it clean for the first time and right in front of their eyes. It's Nessie's little sister. In a way. If the 4Lo is not ready until Worlds, Yuzu can still include the sequence in his layout and he wouldn't really lose anything in his BV: 4S, 4T, 3Lo, 3Lz // 4T+3A+SEQ, 3F+3T, 3A+1Eu+3S BV: 86.83 Max. TSS: 222.68 (with +5 and 10.00) With his full jump arsenal (4Lo, 3Lz included) there are countless layout options. Don't want to list them up here, but the BV would be around 92 and max. TSS 231.

UPGRADE: I think, I have finally found a picture I'm happy with. What do you think about this profile?
-
It might sound strange, but I feel that this stellar score from Nathan and the hype around him is the absolute best thing that could happen to Yuzu at this point. Whenever someone put his GOAT status into question, Yuzu fired back with a new WR or Olympic Gold. We all remember his reaction to Boyang's TES records at NHK '15... We all remember Barcelona 2015, where Yuzu got angry about the 'Javi! Javi!' screams from the crowd before his free... We all remember his resurrection in Helsinki, where everyone has written him off after his 5th place in the short... We all remember is comeback after injury in PyeongChang... There is no more dangerous Yuzu than a really furious and provoked Yuzu (I can see his murder face in Origin already...)

Gillis won three Olympic titles, but the first one was at the Olympics in Antwerpen 1920. At that point in history there have been no seperate Winter Games yet and figure skating was exceptionally part of the Summer Games. So... Yuzu would be the first skater to win three back-to-back titles at Olympic Winter Games
