Poor Vincent. I can't imagine coming this far and getting COVID. He doesn't get to skate the individual event, and didn't get his moment standing on the podium with his medal. That video is a hard watch.

You know if the judging was fair, maybe he wasn't going for such layout in Olympics and would just rely on 4Loop.
He'll get about 8-10 more points doing a 4Lo over a 4A unless a miracle happens. He's not adding 4A in for scoring potential... it's his childhood dream.

Okay. After seeing that, he should definitely not put 4A in. Do the 4Lo layout, preferably with an upgrade on the combo to 3A3Lo and changing the 3Lo to a 3F. Gets a base value boost because he is not going to get full BV on that.
I know he's said he wants to go and win with the 4A as a weapon. But it is not ready and will actively hinder him, unless today was a fluke and he's been doing better 4As back home. He'll have other chances for the 4A. He only has one chance to win a third Olympics.
(But that last one? That looked pretty close to rotated. Now he has to control those forces and land the darn thing.)

Yellow just means the tech panel is reviewing the jump - likely to check for rotation issues.
How Kamila is judged just kills me. Yeah, she should have won this segment. But not by 30 points. She's scored like she's literally perfect most of the time - meanwhile her lutz has edge issues and there's a noticeable hitch between her combo jumps. But there's nowhere to go with her scores if she ever did fix those issues!

Although I'm still not over the fact that this is Kaori's Olympic FP. I just... kind of want to send all of my friends her Matrix and The Piano programs so they see those too. Basically... I want them to love Kaori as much as I do!

I don't think it's possible for Japan to catch the US. Even if Japan gets 10 points and the US gets 6 points in the women's segment (both of which are very unlikely), that just evens them up in the points. The first tiebreaker is top two placements, which the US wins. And the US can't catch Russia, and Canada can't catch Japan. The medals are locked.
Edit: hang on, that's wrong. If Kaori wins, then its 10/10 vs 10/10 on the tiebreak. And I have no idea what the second tiebreak is supposed to mean, it's super unclear. So... maybe the team event is all ~~~vibes~~~ too.
Edit, again: Jackie says that the second tiebreak would put Japan ahead. So if Kaori wins this segment and Karen comes in last, Japan would take silver.

Oh, we're just joking. These are just swim trunks (like shorts that men swim in) with Yuzu's face awkwardly screen-printed across the front.
Sadly, nobody outside of the skating world in the US has even heard of Yuzu before.

We've all been there. Personally, I don't feel like a competition has really started until I've had a stress dream that Yuzu bombed his SP and missed the FS cutoff.
